I've been going to Drybar for over 10 years -- starting at the original West Hollywood location. I also travel frequently to Charleston for work and have always trusted this location with my hair. That trust ended during my most recent visit. After my hair was washed, the stylist suddenly stepped away, and three different employees came over to examine my head as if I were some kind of spectacle. I have extensions, and I disclosed that -- as the booking system requires -- but at no point does Drybar's app or policy state that clients with extensions will be refused service or treated differently. They told me my hair was "matted," which I explained I could easily brush out. I even suggested air-drying and curling the ends if needed. Instead of working with me, they walked away, came back, and informed me that they "could no longer do my hair." At this point, my hair was completely wet, and it was very cold outside. To make matters worse, they told me I wasn't even allowed to blow-dry my own hair because it was "unsanitary." I've never heard anything more ridiculous in a salon. No one offered help, empathy, or even basic discretion. I was left embarrassed, singled out, and humiliated in front of the entire room. The next day, I saw another stylist elsewhere who confirmed my hair was not nearly as bad as they claimed. The staff kept blaming "new ownership" and "new policies," yet none of these supposed policies are posted anywhere on the Drybar website or app. If this is truly how they treat customers under new ownership, it's a major red flag. I walked out feeling deeply embarrassed and disrespected. After over a decade of loyalty to Drybar -- in multiple cities -- I will never return to any location again. Please STOP LYING ! I did not dye my hair - no highlights, nothing. Only got a conditioning treatment, a cut and a trim of my bangs and my hair was styled. I was ripped off and overcharged. In my original review I wrote that I paid 40 dollars - my bad, I paid 19 dollars for the Groupon. I did not order any extra services. At the checkout the owner/receptionist told me that my Groupon did not cover the cost of the service. He "honored" the groupon (the face value of which was 39 dollars I believe) and said I had to pay 70 dollars on top. Dear ladies, as you can see, the salon is extremely dishonest. Please stay away!

For a first time spray tan I had the best experience with Heather of Lowcountry Bronze. I found the…read moresalon to be clean, open, and easy to find with ample parking spots. The door may be locked but Heather was ready to greet me at the door with such a welcoming energy. I felt shy and awkward at first but talking with her I felt more comfortable. You can dress to your comfort level. Prior to the spray, Heather went over the maintenance and tips for having a good tan. It should last about a week when you maintain it and follow the instructions. The spray process itself took about 10-15 mins, very fast. At the end you can use the blower tool to dry out the spray application. Booking was easy using the Vagaro website and Heather reached out as well to see if I had any further questions which I appreciated as a first timer. Overall loved the application process and the communication. Look forward to getting more comfortable with spray tans!
