I got the Taro Blended Tea and Cookies & Cream Dog. My tea came with custard or something that I didn't order, but it was actually the best part of the drink. No actual taro flavor present. They forgot to make my corndog and ended up giving me two as an apology. I will tell you now, one is more than enough. It was very weird all around. I didn't hate it persay, but I would never go out of my way to have it again. Just a once during a lifetime max kinda things.

I have been a fan of Hello Jasmine since its first location in a basement Chinatown food court. I got the midnight mist grape and lychee refresher and it was delicious. My friend also liked the milk tea they got (I forgot the flavor). At some point, I definitely want to try the different popcorn chicken flavors they have since they sound so fun. They also had this adorable sticker promo where if you collect all the stickers, they will mail you a postcard.

Good boba but nothing mind blowing. I got the pink guava grapefruit tea - it was refreshing and had the right balance of sweetness and tartness for me (leaning more sweet). You can order from the cashier or use the kiosks. Minor detail, but I wish the big menu above the cashier counter matched the kiosk menus (the guava fruit tea drink I got wasn't on the big menu).

Great place for a weekday lunch! The bento boxes have a generous portion of food that definitely fills you up. Cute comfy seating area. Easy to order kiosks & attentive service. The Popcorn Chicken Bento comes with rice, crispy yet tender popcorn chicken, tofu, egg & corn omelet, steamed baby bok choi, half hot dog, and pickled cabbage salad. I could only finish half! Always new specials too, like their BOGO corn dogs & seasonal drinks. But don't pass on classics like the Jasmine Green Tea Mill Boba, which you can customize sugar & ice amount.

Located in Lincoln Square, the entrees come with sweet drinks. The average price plus tip is about $20. The food was tasty, and the tables and floor were clean. There's kiosk for ordering food and a cashier. It's the only Chinese place in the area that I know. The staff were friendly. It's a nice neighborhood gem.

Had the marinated pork bento box: I like the pork. Very strong flavor. Not much the rest of the bento box: sour cabbage is too sour. Tofu and egg's too dry. Popcorn chicken is pretty good. Not too salty. Crispy and not too much dough on the outside Drinks are pretty disappointing. Taro one is ok, not too sweet. But the brown sugar one is such a disappointment. Not much flavor and the boba pearl is like not cooked enough and sit there for a week Fried dumplings are also mediocre. Nothing special and worth mentioning

Tried this establishment for a sponsored Yelp event to try their drinks and popcorn chicken. I also decided to get additional items to try. This review is on the spicy chicken nuggets. Surprisingly you can get them in different spices. I decided to get medium spice. My chicken nuggets were very crispy and the seasoning was good. I was disappointed that there was no true sauce to dip my nuggets with. I was pointed to ketchup, hot sauce and soy sauce packets. No bueno, Americans love sauce!!!! Anyway, lucky for me I had just visited Aldi and had a fresh of bbq sauce in my SUV. lol any hoo Overall, I really like my nuggets. I would order these again. Will try the location closer to me when I need some yummy nuggets. Will also bring my own sauce.

The Hello Jasmine Lincoln Square is my usually local go to for boba/ bubble tea. When I occasionally have more time , I try to stop in for food. I have tried their bento boxes in the past which are wonderful. This time I tried one of their current specials a BOGO hot Cheetos crusted cheesy corn dog. I admittedly didn't know what I was getting myself on and was delighted on the taste. It even came with gloves so I didn't get my hands dirty . I love the service here, but it took over 25 minutes for the order to get done which was surprising given their past track record.

First time ordering food and maybe my eighth time ordering Boba from Hello Jasmine. Food: -Sweet Plum Cheese Pull: Absolutely delicious and a large amount of cheese. We split this between two but it's so big you could easily split with three people. The plum taste was awesome. -Chicken steak rice bento: We will be ordering this again for sure. Everything in this bento mixes well with each other and has great taste. Boba: -Considering we've ordered it so many times it is good boba. I wish the cheese foam was made saltier, it tastes a bit bland to me. The tea is usually very good but it is never consistent with how it tastes despite ordering it the same way. Either way, great to have in the neighborhood.

I've always wanted to try hello jasmine popcorn chicken because I've heard such amazing reviews from friends who have tried it. First of all, the food was delicious. It was perfect for a light share lunch with a friend. Please try the garlic popcorn chicken, you will not be disappointed. I personally think it taste good with ranch on the side but the Korean sauce is also really good. The drink was perfect for us. The peach lychee tea has 30% sweetness and it was perfect amount of sweet for me while my friend had 50% sweet. Both drinks were so good and refreshing. Definitely try them out if you like fruit teas. Lastly, the interior design inside is really cute and cozy. It's a great place to come when you need to get some work done, school stuff, self date, or just chill with friends. The workers will bring out the food to you which I thought was great.

    Spring Onion Cheese-pull
    Karyn M.

We ordered a bunch of plates to try: popcorn chicken, orange chicken, fried chicken, tofu, spring onion cheese pull, plum cheese pull. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the orange chicken sweet and a little like Panda. We really enjoyed the cheese pulls, onion and plum. It was exactly as advertised-- it was cheesy and stretchy. These probably would have been best in restaurant, although the chicken did stay very crispy. I regret that I did not order a bubble tea -- will do so the next time I'm in the neighborhood. Overall, we enjoyed our samplings and next time will be sure to ask for sauce as well as some beverages.

I've been to the other locations over the past few years. I was so excited to have a location closer to me. My favorite location is still Lincoln park. This location doesn't have the same full menu. I usually order the pork chop bento but it wasn't available so I got fried chicken bento. The sides were not the same as the other locations. I've never had egg with corn as a side dish. The bok choy was way over cooked. Overall, the bento was a little lacking. Usually there's more sauce over the rice. My husband's pork belly over rice was a little salty for his liking.

First time here about a month ago to try the Taro Cloud. But have been coming back since. The service is always great no matter who the staff is and I am glad to know that I could bring my own container. There are 2 kiosk where you can order with a credit card or you can go directly to the counter for cash transaction. They also offer food that look attractive on the picture. I have yet to try. Recently I got a Taro Cloud with pudding. The custard pudding was a bit watered down, hopefully it will be better next time.

I ordered the taro coconut milk tea with egg pudding, 75% sweet. It was perfect!! Not too sweet, and you can taste each flavor distinctly. The taro and coconut really came through and the egg pudding had a lovely texture. I thought it was cool that when you order this drink they include one topping with no extra charge, and you can pick any of the options! For $8 for this quality and size of drink I was happy. I can't say the same for some other boba spots that sometimes are too expensive. This spot was just right!

It was pricey but enough for 2 people to share. Metered parking on a weekend evening was easy. My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.

There aren't many seats available so it feels like a semi boba shop as well. To sum it up, I would say it is ~70 to 80% authentic, which is not bad in my opinion. Braised Pork Over Rice 招牌滷肉飯: The presentation was beautiful and the flavor was actually pretty good. In Taiwan, this dish is usually more on the sweeter side, due to the sugar and shallots added. Here, it is more peppery and savory, and the flavor was actually really good. The beans and the mustard greens were very delicious as well. Even though the flavor profile is slightly different, this was well made and something I would come back for. Noodles with black pepper sauce 胡椒鐵板麵: traditionally this dish is called蘑菇鐵板麵, which uses mushrooms, black pepper and other sauces as a base. The flavor was good, but I wish that there were more mushroom and sauce to balance the black pepper. In my opinion, this dish tasted very different from what I used to eat, but it is not bad on its own. 2/4 Fried pork chops: the meat was fried very well, and it was pretty peppery and crispy. However, I think there are different spices and flavor missing, including white pepper, msg, garlic, Thai basil, cayenne pepper, and more. I wished that the savoriness and spiciness popped up more, and I thought the spice blend and the marinade could definitely use some improvement. 3/4 Beef noodle soup 牛肉麵: I thought the bone broth was pretty good, but I believe the flavor profile should be wider, like tomatoes, five spice, 豆瓣醬, soy sauce, and more. It was a stripped down version, and I wished that is reflected in the name of the item (renaming it "clear soup" etc). Also, the amount of meat they gave us was a little bit pitiful (there were like four pieces), and there were two pieces of bok choy. When Taiwanese people eat beef noodle soup, we definitely expect more. 2/4 Additionally, I wish the drinks were made with some fresh ingredients (not just syrup or creamer), as standard/good quality boba shops from Taiwan try to make drinks as fresh as possible. That is high ask, but I just wanted to note that as a suggestion for improvement. Overall, I thought the food was pretty decent. Would I say it is the most representative Taiwanese restaurant in Chicago? No. The staff was actually Chinese loll. But I do think it reminds me of some flavors and food I grew up eating in Taiwan. If you like popcorn chicken and pork, it is likely a good place for you.

Vibes in the space are fine, it's an efficient little cafe The biggest thing is that there's really an opportunity for more sauces! For the fries, for the popcorn chicken, for example, a sauce would make a big difference to dip it in. I like this place and expect to be back
