Buckle up yall, because it's gonna be a long one! Such a cute place for dates, activities with friends, or even a solo date with yourself! Don't be fooled! It's not just pottery!! You can also do glue diy, make candles, flower arrangements, clothes, stained glass projects and even more! INFO: The location is located upstairs between the beauty place and the dentist office. They don't have a sign yet. They do accept walk-ins but I would call and double check if they're opened before you come around opening! You can either call, text or dm on Instagram to get a hold of the owner. I would also encourage making an appointment even if you're doing a solo crafting day like I did. Rather than booking on yelp, I would go to their Instagram page @hellopotteryirvine. The page will have a link to their website where you can get more information & book! You can either book the exact thing you want to do or they even have an option where you can book and see what you want to do when you get there. Experience: The owner was super super nice and welcoming when I came in! I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I walked in and she gave me the menu of all the things you could do. If you don't know me, let me just understate that I''m super indecisive. She was soo patient with me and answered all my questions! I went with the mirror glue diy ($48). There are other projects to make and glue and each will come with a dif number of charms. The mirror comes with 30 charms & has multiple shapes to choose from (heart, bear, abstract). Once I chose my mirror shape, the owner let me be to choose my charms! I think I spent a good 15 minutes deciding because there were so many! There are also blind boxes to purchase to add to your project. They're about $18 each. If you don't like what you get, she does have a little display box of blind boxes that were opened prior and you can trade the one you got for anything in the case. I liked my pompompurin so I kept it! After I wrestled over what charms to get, I was be able to pick the colors for my piping glue. After that the owner then have some advice on how to tackle the project! I was left alone to create my masterpiece (if I say so myself) once she was done with the explanation. Payment is at the end! Depending on your project it may take a couple hours before it fully hardens. If you did a small project you could probably grab a bit to eat and then come back. Since I did the mirror, I opted to come back another day. She instructed me to take a final picture of my project and told me when I cam to pick it up, I could just show anyone working the picture to pick it up. Are yall still with me? Congratulations! I enjoyed the concept, but I'm giving a one-star review due to issues with customer service and pricing. Many others seem to share similar concerns. Specifically, the employee assisting us was inattentive. They forgot my girlfriend needed paint, spent excessive time on their phone, and didn't proactively offer assistance. When I asked for help with fluid art, the advice was minimal and dismissive. I also found the pricing misleading. I estimated the total cost around $100 based on the bowl ($12) and bear figure ($68). However, the bill was approximately $150. I'm curious how the additional $70 was calculated. Other pottery places I've visited were significantly cheaper. To improve, I suggest: - More attentive customer service: proactively attend to customer needs and offer polite assistance. - Clearer pricing: update prices and inform customers beforehand. Consider charging before painting to avoid obligation issues. The business has potential, but these issues need addressing to enhance the overall experience. This is my second time at hello pottery, I like going to this place to create little DIY products. The first time I've been here it was exciting and the staff was nice and accommodating in explaining how to do each project and offered help when needed. Super cute place to have a date! We chose to do a fluid bear and paint a ceramic plate. They have a lot of options! I couldn't decide lol. You can also decorate phone cases too. This used to be my favorite place to go with my friends to paint and yap, especially since I live out of state and only occasionally see my friends during holidays. I came here in December and spent a long time (and over $70) painting pieces that were going to be gifts for my loved ones, and I was really excited to see out they'd turn out. Not only did we feel rushed by the staff to pick out pieces and paint them, but they seemed annoyed when my friend tried asking for assistance with her pieces. But nonetheless we finished our pieces, paid, and left. Come to find out, there seemed to be a lack of communication from the staff/management to their customers because when I had called follow-up on my and my friends' pieces, they informed me that they were all broken! When I inquired further about how 6 different pieces all broke, they were very vague and passed it off as "staff error". They also made it seem clear that I could not be refunded or reimbursed in any way... not even to come in again and make another piece. I think it's clear to say that I would rather go to a place that actually addresses and take accountability for mishaps such as this. Hello Pottery, do better. read more

this is such a fun activity to do with friends! the staff were all super nice and helpful! the entire vibe of the studio is so friendly, bright, and upbeat. there are also so many options you can choose from if you don't want to decorate a phone case! you can make your own pottery, paint pottery, make mirrors, jewelry boxes, and so many other options. the charms that they have are also so adorable. i was literally overwhelmed with all the charms i had to pick from haha. the only thing i would say is that i wish there were more cream glue colors that you can choose from. the color choices are pretty narrow and being a pastel girly i wanted more pastel colors to choose from. the prices are also a bit steep... came out to be about $50 for the entire experience. but honestly it was so worth it! the experience did not disappoint :) read more

I decorated a picture frame with charms. There are sooo many charms to choose from so be prepared to spend some good time looking at charms. Overall the experience was so fun! Love the table set up and tools they provide to help you make your art. The staff are very helpful and check in with you here and there if you need anything. Definitely coming back to try the other art activities such as painting a ceramic and again there are a variety of ceramics to choose from. read more

Not worth for the price. Unhelpful staff ever. Walk in and begin, staff never explained or instructed us! We were confused and staff ignored it, until we had to ask. Young Chinese woman sometimes came to instruct a Chinese woman and she did not care anyone else. Paid for very expensive cost and received awkward attitude. If you want to have a peaceful date, do two separate projects but if you want a bonding team building experience, you could collaborate on one pottery painting experience! This place is super cute and well organized. I was looking for a fun but relaxing activity to do with a friend who is visiting from out of town. It's clean, spacious and the AC feels great while working on our activity. We came on a weekday and was able to find parking easily. This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

They have a color section that's easier to work well and good with designs. There's also another set of colors that have some details and undertones. I picked four colors and hoped for the best. It's interesting because the more special glaze are all shades of gray, even when you paint it on. It's really is trusting the process. They put our pottery on the rack and told us it would be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping the pick up this time goes better! Love that you can bring in your own food and drinks while painting your ceramic. Love their selection of ceramics. They have a lot of cute ones from small to large. There is a price difference if you plan on choosing a bigger ceramic to paint. Once you choose your ceramic, staff will tell you how to choose your paint colors and how many layers are needed for a certain color to show. They're very thorough at making sure you get what you need. My girlfriends and I spent about 3 hours here. It was very fun. We got to catch up with each other during this period. Picking up our ceramics did take about a week. They'll hold your items for you for up to 60 days. Definitely a fun activity for all ages!

I realized I was scammed after I left...and probably many others. "Consumers, employees, and competitor businesses who observe apparent violations can bring potential violations to our attention by visiting oag.ca.gov/report. To learn more about SB 478, please visit our web page" In CA, the following law was passed: https://www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2024/06/california-law-bans-hidden-fees-for-goods-and-services-starting-july "Advertising. The price advertised to consumers must be the full price that the customer is required to pay. Businesses cannot comply with SB 478 by disclosing additional required fees before a consumer finalizes a transaction. Similarly, businesses cannot comply with the law by advertising a price that is less than what a consumer will actually have to pay, even if disclosing that additional fees will be added, or by listing one price and separately stating that an additional percentage fee will apply." AKA, in other words, this business is NOT in compliance with SB 478. Just because you post a separate sign that you're going to charge $5 studio fee, separate from the goods or services that the customer is purchasing, does NOT make you compliant. Also, regarding the tipping and studio fee they try to tack on during the point of sale transaction: The ownership has their Clover Point of Sale notifications in Chinese, which clued me into looking up glues and charms on Ali Express (much cheaper...you'll see). The bs tipping and extra fee has likely resulted in a nice padding to their profit margin, even though it's against CA law. Ownership knows they will get away with this until someone attempts a class action lawsuit, but it's simply not worth most people's time and energy, unless you're a lawyer already. Furthermore, you can find the charms, pottery, phone cases, frames, trays, cream glues, all on Amazon or Ali Express for MUCH cheaper. Example: 1 cream glue, 32 cents + shipping on Ali Express, or set of 6 glues for $14 on Amazon. Resins, you can get a pack of 50 charms for $10. Cheap plastic cases and trays, $2-5. Besides the cost difference (you can argue that you're paying premium prices for the privilege of being in a 2nd floor glorified strip plaza and having this experience, because there's just not much else to do in Irvine), being ripped off in violation of the law, just doesn't sit right with me. It's such a cute idea for a date or hang out with friends and family. My cousin recommended it, so we went. It's upstairs in the plaza area. It took us a little to find it. The lady there was super nice and helped a lot. She doesn't speak a lot of English, just Mandarin. She would communicate with us through a translating app or my extremely poor conversational skills. When you first get in, she gives you the different types of crafts you can make with its pricing. I chose a phone case. You can choose up to 20 little charms, if you go over I think it's a dollar extra each. I think that was the hardest part because there was a whole drawer case full of them. Then, you choose two colored glue or paste: a background color and a border color. It was a super quick but fun activity. It took me like 30 minutes tops to finish. My friends and I have been dying to try out a store where we could decorate phone cases and we happened to stumble across this one online. Once we arrived, we were excited to see that there were so many options for art pieces including pottery, tote bags, drip bears, hair clips, and more.
