Absolutely terrible experience. I would give this place zero stars if I could. My daughter spent $21 of her own money on a squishy toy, and it literally popped the moment she stepped outside the store. We immediately went back inside, expecting them to stand behind the products they sell. Instead, the employee refused to exchange it or issue a refund. If a toy breaks within minutes of purchase, that's a defective product. A business that refuses to make it right is choosing profit over basic customer service--especially when the customer is a child who spent her own money. Selling low-quality products is one thing. Refusing to stand behind them is another. Watching a kid walk away disappointed over $21 while the store takes no responsibility is incredibly frustrating. Save your money and shop somewhere that values its customers and stands behind the products it sells. We won't be back. read more

Such a fun activity in a great location! For my lovely boyfriend's birthday, I surprised him with a session at Tutufun. We have never tufted rugs before, so this was a great new experience together :) The workers were super helpful and nice. They walked us through how to use the tufting gun and we practiced before getting to the rug. It was easy to project our image onto the canvas, and then we were off!! It took around 3 hours of nonstop tufting for a Small rug. It was definitely an arm workout! But so fun. It was a little toasty in there though, so dress accordingly. We came back later to pick up the rugs - super efficient and it turned out beautiful. I would come back again to create a huge rug together sometime :-) read more

Really disappointing experience. The store says it closes at 10:00 PM, but when we arrived around 9:00 PM, we were told the line was already closed. There was no announcement or notice online that the line would close an hour early. Everyone in line just to buy the squishy items--not do any crafting. It was supposed to be a quick grab-and-go purchase. If you're going to stop letting customers in an hour before closing, update your hours or let people know before they waste their time driving here. The store closed its doors at 8:55 p.m., even though the posted closing time is 9:00 p.m. Staff were already trying to close as early as 8:40 p.m., and only stopped after several customers complained that they had driven a long distance to visit the store. There were Squishies that customers wanted to purchase, but staff refused to restock them, telling everyone to come back at 10:00 a.m. the next day. Ironically, as soon as the customers left, they began restocking the shelves but would not allow anyone back inside to make a purchase before the posted closing time. The employee who appeared to be the manager was very rude, unhelpful, and had a very bad attitude. Unfortunately, we did not get her name. This was a disappointing experience, and I hope management addresses both the customer service and the practice of closing before the advertised business hours. Took my daughter here four times. They were one of the first stores to consistently have a decent selection of squishies. Customer service was okay to start, but as they got more popular, they began to treat customers as though they are doing you a favor by allowing you to shop there. Some of the staff are rude, and if you get there near closing time, they seem to hate that. I now take my daughter to the Shops at Mission Viejo, where they have carts on the ground floor and in the food court that have a better selection, better prices, and nicer vendors. read more

Our class was from 4-6:30, but we ended pretty early and picked up our candles about 15-20 minutes later. It took maybe 15-20 minutes per wax layer to cool down, and in between these times, you could make other molds you wanted to put in or on top of your candles. I used one of the medium sized cups and my girlfriend used one of the large sized cups, and we both were able to make our own matcha candles which we love! Our instructor was very helpful in telling us about what to do and what not to do. I'd highly recommend Tutu Fun for anyone around OC looking for a fun date activity! I came to TuTu Fun for the first craft experience. I've been to the store for shopping, but never for a craft. My friend and I did the Decoden craft. It was fun and I'm happy with what I made, but I have a couple suggestions of how it could be better. First off, they offer a ton of classes in one space, like candle making, rug tufting, acrylic pouring, beaded jewelry, etc. I think it would be really helpful to book 1 craft per hour or something like that. I found it somewhat overwhelming how many things were going on at once. And, then they would only have to explain how to do that specific craft during that time slot, versus over and over again. The rug tufting is really loud, so it could have been nice to either have light music, or even better to only do that craft during certain hours of the day. Another thing is I don't feel like we got much instruction. The girls who helped us were extremely nice and doing their best, but I felt like they may have also been overwhelmed. It was a busy Saturday and in addition to reservation times, they also allow walk ins. It wasn't a calming environment. I sort of felt like I was at a kid's birthday party (which we may have been). If I ever went again, I'd want to do a rental and have the space to just our group. Lastly, I think the pricing should be adjusted. I think there should be a sign up fee and then the individual items you pay for are sold at a lower price point. I liked that we could choose as many charms as we wanted, but the actual items we had to choose from were extremely overpriced and I think a different structure would help people to understand you're paying more for the space, set up/clean up, then you really are for the specific item. Overall it was fun, but I do personally believe there needs to be a bit more organization from the top. Again, all the staff who helped us were extremely kind and doing their best. read more

i've come here on two separate occasions: once to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday by helping him make a rug and another to celebrate mine by making a candle. both experiences were so fun! the staff has always been very polite and clear in their instructions and suggestions for your selected project. for the rug tufting, they allow you to practice on a canvas in the back of the workshop so you can learn how to use the tool before you start on the actual rug. for making a candle, you have a variety of selections in the types of candles you can make, which i had not expected--wax, jelly, etc--and themes that can go along with what you're selecting. i made a cocktail candle, and it was so much fun getting to select the scents and "garnishes" for the decorations. both experiences were so memorable. i'm not typically a crafty person, but i would happily go back! read more

Tutu Fun is indeed Too Too Fun. My sisters, girls, and I visited for some family time. We spent two hours decorating picture frames, mirrors, and hair clips with cute and cheesy little charms. Everyone was very creative. My design was kinda boring compared to everyone else but it was fun all the same. They also have rug tufting which we will come back and try. This is located in the Irvine Spectrum. The store is a bit deceiving. If you walk in, you would not immediately know what it is or its purpose. I had a very disappointing experience at Tutu Fun during their candle making workshop. After we poured our wax, the person leading our group completely forgot to give us wicks until someone in our group had to ask when we were supposed to put the wicks in. Which prompted the leader to suddenly remember that inserting the wicks was actually a step that should have happened prior to pouring. Instead of properly restarting, they then instructed us to try putting the wicks in after the wax had already cooled, which made the process messy and difficult. It got worse when the manager/owner came over and stuck a wick into one person's cup, which completely ruined the design they had carefully created. When that person asked to start over because the design had been ruined, the manager/owner initially refused to allow it. The wick the manager forced into the candle eventually came loose and would not stay inside the wax. On top of that, they repeatedly forgot to mix our chosen scents into the wax before pouring. The leader then decided to mix the scent into the cup, ruining the design even more. To make matters worse, they had also run out of several scents, and we were told they had to go to their warehouse to get more. This caused additional delays and made the entire workshop feel unprepared and poorly organized. Especially since scent is a major part of making candles. At one point, the manager/owner gave someone in our group wax that had already cooled down and thickened, making it very hard to pour smoothly into the cup. Because most of the wax wasn't hot enough, it created a large amount of bubbles in the candles. We were told to use a heating gun to fix it, but even then, many bubbles remained and the candles did not look well made. There were so many bubbles that it would have taken 2+ hours to fully remove them. In the end, because there were so many bubbles, we decided not to finish it and left without that candle. When it was time to pay, the manager attempted to charge us $254 for four candles without deducting the deposit we had already paid in advance. When I reminded her, she initially tried to deduct only $100. I had to pull up my receipt for her to remove the correct amount. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and unprofessional. I would not recommend this candle making experience based on what we went through. read more

TuTu Fun takes up only a small corner of Irvine Spectrum, a mall surrounded by endless distractions and activities, but it manages to distinguish itself as the best option to spend an afternoon in, either solo or with a buddy. From candle-making to rug tufting, the DIY options felt limitless, with even miniature kits available to purchase and take home to build at your own pacing. My friend and I opted for a large rug tufting session, with this experience being guided and elevated thanks to Ken, one of the most awesome-est members I've encountered. From the start, he guided us through the process, offering helpful tips on using the machine, design selection, outlining,a nd working around the frame's edges. And throughout our session, he regularly checked in, shared recommendations on how to progress, and encouraged us with enthusiasm that felt genuine and supportive. Alongside his presence, progressing through the entire rug tufting experience with my friend was so enjoyable. Taking turns to admire each other's progress, laughing at a line too squiggly, or helping each other put a string of yarn into the machine we used made the project feel rewarding.. and less like a task we had to finish in 4 hours. Because of time constraints, we weren't able to finish our rug in one sitting, but TuTu Fun and Ken made it easy to re-schedule and return to finish, accomodating to our reservation. So! If you're looking for an activity that contains engagement with a friend/partner, encouraging staff, and good air conditioning in the summer weather, I'd highly recommend experiencing TuTu Fun at least once during your time in Irvine. Luna made my whole experience unpleasant before I even sat down. I had an appointment at 3:00, and showed up at 1:00 to see if they could take me earlier. Her attitude and demeanor was rude right off the bat. Another girl named Mila was nice who was working right beside her. I just couldn't get over her lack of customer service, and because of her I do not recommend this place. From guiding us through the candle-making process to helping us decorate our art piece, she made everything easy and enjoyable.
