Well, we never did until today. The place has that 1950's charm complete with checkered floors, and a yellow brick road. It was absolutely packed, and they still managed to get our food to us quickly with flawless service. I ordered the two eggs with sourdough toast, and hash browns. The eggs were scrambled to a light and fluffy consistency, and the hash browns were golden brown outside with a soft interior. Not to mention my mug of coffee was never empty. I also ordered the strawberry rhubarb pie "à la mode" and it was yummy. I'll describe it as the ultimate sweet, tart dessert that reminded me of a strawberry milk shake. The jammy sweetness of ripe strawberries was perfectly balanced with the buttery crust and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was the cherry on top to my breakfast. I will definitely make it a habit to visit this place when i drive to Vegas. It was well worth the stop.

I don't know what it was but wow, Monday morning and this place was packed. I'm used to the weekend…read morebeing packed but I guess even the weekdays this place is happening. Of course it's always a must for us to stop by on the way to or from Vegas's. Parking situation, there's loads of parking which you can already tell when we arrived that it was busy. We did have our pup with us which they do accommodate service animal. The only downfall, you cannot feed them even water. We normally like the main dining area just past the cashier area. Pretty much all the tables were occupied except one. Some did still needed cleaning but we got the one available. Seat yourself and then menus are brought out. I have my usual plates that I alway get but it does take a little longer than usual for the fried chicken meal. Plus it was early in the morning...lol... We all opted for something fast, breakfast. My chicken fried steak with hash browns, and eggs. It also comes with either toast, English muffins or biscuits and gravy. I've alway like this dish but today, it was a little chewy. The other breakfast was great. And the grilled tuna sandwich, with two sides. We went with onion rings which is an additional fee and some curly fries. Sandwich is simple but tasty. Service was busy but great. Our waitress was the sweetest. I didn't get her name. It was busy that morning but service was nice. After payment, they alway give you the receipt tab for a free piece of candy at the candy shop. Now, do we stop by again after the trip...lol...

The cook/server that helped me was friendly and on top of my food order. I got there at 4:00 AM and he was cooking an order for 6 guys in the back. He grabbed my order, the breakfast sandwich, cooked it up quickly and got me on my way. I took the food to go and forgot to take a photo of it, but it was delicious. Stop by and check. This desert gem out.

It was a Saturday morning around 9:30ish and was surprised it wasn't that busy. We found a booth and saw we had to scan a QR code for the menu. OK, I admit, I hate that. Then they had instructions to download the app to place your order. I assume this was put in place for COVID. Finally, a waitress came over and said she'll take our order. Thank goodness! I ordered French Toast with sausage patties, which I totally prefer over links but it's so rare to find them on the menu, and my partner had a breakfast burrito. The food arrived fairly quick and it was perfect. I'm not into fancy breakfast foods so keep is simple and I'm happy. The breakfast burrito was HUGE and my partner wasn't able to finish it. The entire breakfast with coffee was about $40, which I felt was very reasonable by today's standards. We both mentioned how we recently went to famous SoCal fast food hamburger joint (not In-and-Out) and it was $30 for 2 people, and not as good. Our service was super friendly, and we felt welcome there. Along with good food, this might be our regular breakfast stop when driving to Vegas.

Locals hangout! [Randsburg CA]…read more It was a quiet Saturday afternoon when we visited this historic town this past Memorial Day weekend. We were hungry and was hoping that there was someplace to grab a bite here at this mining town. The owner of the Rock and Crystal shop pointed to this "Joint" and mentioned that they make a mean burrito and burgers. While I was still shopping at the crystal store my hubby went over to the bar and asked if the neighboring restaurant could fire up the grill for a couple of cheeseburgers w/ grilled onions (they looked like they were already putting stuff away at 4:30p). They were kind enough to oblige and we got to eat one tasty burger! The burgers were delicious... the grilled onions and seasoning they use really put flavor on those beef patties. Very good! The Joint is a family-owned saloon since 1955 with friendly folks running the bar. Decorated with patriotic flags inside and out. Was probably surprised and not used to seeing a couple of Asians walk in. As we were leaving people were starting to trickle in... looks like the fun was about to start. Found out later that they had a live band entertaining from 8:00p to midnight that evening for Memorial Day Saturday. Fun!! Review #2995
