I'm not a big sushi person, but this place was worth the visit. They were very accommodating for our large party of about 8-10 people. We ate here around 1:45pm on a Saturday and there was nobody here. That might tell you something about the food that it's average. I don't know sushi that well but the food was delicious to me. We ordered all you can eat and my favorites were the baked salmon and Alaska salmon rolls. We also ordered edamame which could have been evenly salted better. The servers were young ladies and they were kind but seemed new to the food industry. They passed out dishes just to one side of the table and we had to pass them down to the rest of our group ourselves. It appeared lazy. We asked them to pass it out and they obliged. I might prefer another sushi place for flavor but you can almost guarantee you will get a table here and not have to wait that long. Baked salmon roll: 4/5 Alaska salmon roll: 4/5 Philly tempura roll: 4.5/5 Edamame: 3.5/5 Miso soup: 4/5

We came here on a Google search, and then looked on Yelp and the reviews seemed average. So why not. 1-the food, sushi was great, it definitely hit the spot, it was fresh, and abundant.. I would recommend the food! 2-the service, the service was okay. The girls attending us were kind and friendly but mistakes were made and when notified about the mistakes they were apologetic/sincere and said they would correct it and it wasn't corrected. They also brought us different items we didn't order which truly wasn't a big deal they didn't charge us extra but they also didn't bring out the items we did order. 3-ambiance, it was pleasant, I enjoyed it, I loved that it wasn't loud music blaring. 4-dessert, I loved the shaved ice.. i love that it's an option.

Ambiance The decor is cute but it's giving rundown Chinashop vibes. The baseboards look like they mop with dirty water once a month. I could actually smell the water while we were eating. The nicest tables are reserved --for what seems like only where staff eat on break. The sushi bar is far from most of the seating but seems okay. The kitchen had leaking water for half of my meal before it got mopped. There is Chinese writing on the walls, which is kind of cute if it was a Chinese place. Some of the top flags are okay. The TV playing dining channel really confused my stomach during the meal. Watching someone make other foods while sushi is right in front of me felt like they missed the point of sushi. The sushi is the art. Service With cafeteria style service and plates, at least the prices are reasonable ($23 for 3 rolls and it was shareable). The staff were kind, but I was confused if I could ask one server questions or the other. I wanted to be sure I was asking the right person but then I was obvious half way thru that they were all helping each other as one big area. Food The rolls looked pretty good and tasted great too, but the sauce was overpowering. Was it to hide something? I ended up in pain all night due to gassiness, burping like a college tailgating frat boy and couldn't lie down until 3 am after dinner at 7:30 pm. With that said, I'll add my photos and you can decide if you want to risk yourself for cheap sushi. I'm never eating at a place with dirty baseboards again!

    Volcano sushi roll looked fire!

Food was questionable. We were a large party. My friend ordered the chicken teriyaki which she did not eat because the meat was not as fresh. There was mixed reviews on the sushi. I ordered the tempura vegetarian roll and added jalapeño and cream cheese. The rolls were very large and had to take various bites to eat one roll. The service was great.. the waitresses were very attentive. 4 of my coworkers had the AYCE - all you can eat sushi. No salad available but they did have the shaved ice dessert. The restroom was clean and the tables and restaurant as well. I probably would not return unless my friends pick this place but I don't think the majority of us would return.

I've been coming here for almost 10 years and I have to say it's been amazing since I've been here. Love their sushi, the sushi chefs are amazing and the owner is nice. The vibe is super nice and food options are great. Thank you Hello Sushi for being here.

Seared salmon with too much oil.

So we came here cause of the hype from Instagram. And they have snow cone for AYCE. I have a good expectation of this place but it was a mistake coming in here. We got here around noon so there's not a lot of people. We did their all you can eat even even if were not hungry just because of the snow cone that come with it. We gave our paper to our server and we didn't order complicated rolls. The worst part is everybody that ordered after us got all their food order before us. My first thought was maybe they'll give us all our order all at once thats why it's taking forever. Half an hour later, our order starts coming in 1 by 1 by 1. Like wtf!!. Before we even got all our order which isn't that much, the table right next to us who got here after us got all their order before us. Infact they already done before we got our first round. Their sushi quality isn't good. I should have check the yelp review before coming in here. This is the only bad experience I had from a sushi restaurant. Also, the seared salmon is not just seared, there's too much oil in it that it is soaking the rice. There's places that the food isnt so great but the service is great which makes up for it. This is not the place, service is bad and food is not that good. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

So, of course, I look on Yelp and came across Nko Niko sushi, which is regarded as one of the best sushi spots in Redlands. I actually went as far as double checking on reddit and the votes were definitely in! This place seemed legit so I had to try it. It's located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. There are several restaurants in the area, while Niko Niko is tucked away near the water fountains out front. As I arrived, they quickly sat me at the bar area and my typical rainbow roll and I tried their snow cone roll. The rolls were so good and the fish was fresh! I loved the sweet sauce that was added to the snow cone roll. After about 20 mins, the chef, who's name is Yaser, started asking me what my favorite fish is and why I like it. I told him Albacore and he instantly makes me some concoction with ponzu sauce which was fire. He then asked me if I like salmon and I told him yes and he makes me a seared salmon roll with orange sauce and pepper. By this time I'm stuffed but enjoying this experience. He made going to a sushi restaurant interesting again like when I first tried sushi. We start talking about Japan and he ask me if I ever had salmon skin. I tell him absolutely not and that when I bake salmon I usually take the skin off. He then tells me that I HAVE to try a salmon skin handroll so I figured I should just go with it. My mind was blown!! I actually like salmon skin lol. It was so good! Overall, I had an amazing experience at Niko Niko and Chef Yaser. I left him a generous tip for the experience and he changed the way I will forever dine at a sushi bar now. If you're in the area, please stop at Niko for some fresh tasty sushi and an excellent sushi experience with sushi chef's that know what they're doing. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

I believe KYO is on the brink of having outgrown this location, but a lease is likely keeping them there for a while. Real props to them for still providing excellent customer service with each of their tables. Their food comes out fast, and they all tasted amazing. And their drinks too look visually stunning and tasted great. We ordered the following foods and drink: 1. Gyu set- comes with several meats that you cook on the fire. High quality. Great taste. Extremely tender and flavorful. 2. Short ribs- they were so good we had to get another order of them. 3. Sushi taco- 3 different types of seafood. Tasted really good, ended.up getting 2 orders of them. 4. Spicy tuna crispy wanton- lots of spicy tuna. Love the flavors. The crunch of the taco was really good. 5. Chicken karaage- crispy and tender. The sauce it came with was so good. 6. Tempura shrimp- 3 peices only. It was ok. A great appetizer to start with. 7. Spicy pork bao- bao bun was amazing. Pork was soft and tender. Good ratio of meat to bao. 8. Smoked brisket bao- not as good as the spicy pork. But was still really good. 9. Hand roll was also really good. Drinks: 1. White peach sake sangria- this drink was so light and refreshing. Definitely hit me by the time I finished it though. 2. Yuzu pineapple express- our favorite drink by far. Very pineapple forward. Sweet, tart and refreshing. 3. Tokyo tea- the midori made it look so pretty. The taste itself was very good as well. 4. Rising sun- Japanese whiskey. It was very whiskey forward, but it was also very smooth. I love how they had a little bit of everything here. Pork, chicken, raw fish, sushi, bbq, bao buns, Ramen, a whole bunch of different appetizers. Everything that we tried was really good, and put a smile of happiness on our face as we took a bite and tried them. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. It was not cheap. Every little thing added up. But we did order a lot of food and drinks. But everything was really good. Would definitely come back again!!

The dine-in location is kinda speakeasy-esque, located down a spiral staircase and behind the sliding door mural. There is also a much more visible touchpad ordering system for orders to-go. Interestingly, the to-go menu is more expansive and includes rolls, whereas dining in does not. The dine-in seating is also all counter seating, wrapped around in a U configuration where you can see the food prepared. My friend ordered tuna sashimi and miso soup while I got scallop and salmon skin cut rolls. For a weekday evening, there was a steady stream of customers stopping by to pick up orders, and a few others dining in. The staff were nice and it was neat seeing everything prepared right in front of us. I also enjoyed seeing the omakase that the couple next to us had ordered. The space feels pretty underground (because it is), with small windows coverings that I think lend to the ambience. It is a bit tricky to find because it appears closed from the outside, so maybe better signage to slide the door open would be helpful. I'd be interested to try the special rolls that are to-go only. They looked amazing as they were being packed!
