I made an appointment. No show of tech. No response from tech by phone or text. Called main number and they couldn't get in touch with tech. Rescheduled for later that evening - same result. The customer service said they would put be first next day. Same result. The tech texted he could come later and then no-show and no more contact. Customer Service can't even get in touch with their techs to find out. I told them not to charge my card and I did not get charged, but it was pending. I think it was a total scam it was so bad. The tech took 5 minutes to supposedly connect my pre-wired surround sound. I spent the next 15 minutes asking questions which he could not answer. Why do I have to mute my TV, why are you connecting to BD CD receiver port and not cable/ satellite. Why don't the functions work on my receiver? His answer to these and more was that's the way it works. Really. He said call me if you have any questions. I paid $135 for this. I should have called Geek Squad they did it for me in our previous house and a BIGGGG!! difference. I called to ask to have my money back and I am waiting for an answer. When I called to make the appointment I was asked what needed to be done I explained what the issue was and a tech with no clue about surround sound was sent. To top it all off I was told my CC would not be charged until the service was completed. It hit my bank account with the charge next morning and the tech was coming at 4PM. Shame on me for not canceling right then. You have an issue connecting surround sound yiu tube and do yourself or call another service with a local number. read more

Had a technician come to our house to do an alleged easy thermostat change on a triple digit day. Broke our old thermostat - clearly didn't know how to go from an older model to a newer model so also ruined our wiring. After providing those excellent services he said he would sell us a different one - left - said he'd back in an hour and then never came back. Left us in triple digit heat without a single care in the world. Breaking Nevada NRS codes mind you. Huge shoutout to to American Home Shield for working with and recommending this con service company. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I'm absolutely amazed that I was just mistreated and left to rot by a company this horribly. It's truly disgusting that anyone would do this to another human being. Customer service is completely useless you can't even get a hold of them. Update: I got in touch with a family friend who works in the HVAC business and crawled in the attic to figure out what was wrong myself. In conclusion this guy threw our thermostat back on dead batteries no buttons, left our ac breaker outside off, and left both doors attached the to the fan necessary to activate the door switch literally reversed and loose. For perspective to the average joe - this would've meant an AC company who's actually capable would have been necessary to schedule most likely 3 days out while it's 100+ everyday to come and spend 10 minutes properly putting doors back on and flipping a breaker. Imagine having a tech so indifferent to your well being let's you marinate in an 80+ degree house for days because he felt so above or just downright incapable of properly installing a door. I cannot thank my family friend enough and I cannot stress how disgusting this technician was and how disgusting the customer service experience has been to try and feel compensated. We went through our home warranty and they suggested we use this company because they work with them as a special deal for our warranty's customers. So we set up an appointment to install a smart thermostat and the technician that arrived came in and said "these aren't gonna be compatible but I can try and they might work." My husband told him well I really don't feel comfortable with you doing that if you don't think they're going to be compatible. The young technician told us that he would plug our original thermostats back in and they would work. Well, that didn't happen and he ended up breaking our thermostat and come to find out he blew a fuse. So instead of him checking if the fuse is broken he said he was going to go buy us a new thermostat and he never came back. We have talked to numerous people with hello tech and nobody ever communicates back to us. They keep telling us the same thing we will call you once we get a hold of the tech or after you fill out The claim that the tech broke some thing. We've done all of this and still nothing from hello tech. We are just very frustrated with the lack of communication and the fact we are in Las Vegas in extremely hot weather and now without an air conditioner. So we filed a claim through a home warranty which we then had to do our out-of-pocket $75 and their tech that came in said yes he blew a fuse and all he had to do was go up in the attic and fix it and it would've been a simple as that. So our one and only experience with this company has been one of the worst experiences we've ever encountered. They told us to call an emergency HVAC tech... But we would have to pay for it. We don't have that type of money to just be throwing around and waiting for maybe a reimbursement. They couldn't tell us why they couldn't just send somebody out. read more

Terrible customer service! Do not use them; if they break something in your house, they will not fix it! I bought a new Ring doorbell and paid to have HelloTech install it; the tech who came out to my house was nice enough but said he couldn't do it and that an electrician would have to come out. In the process of trying to figure it out, he broke the hinges on the front panel to the intercom system. He made no mention of trying to fix it. I called HelloTech and explained the situation and was told that I needed to email someone at HelloTech. So I sent an email. It took them 6 days to respond and I was told that they would not send someone out to fix it. I asked them, "since you broke it, shouldn't you fix it?" I have yet to hear back. This lack of communication and disregard for clients' time/property is disconcerting to say the least. If they won't even consider fixing something so minor that they broke, there is zero confidence they will do the right thing for something more important/valuable. UPDATE: A week after I wrote my review, I received a message from HelloTech saying, "We'll be reaching out to you shortly and look forward to coming to an appropriate resolution!" It has been 5 days, and I have yet to hear from anyone from HelloTech. Not surprising at all. read more

BE CAREFUL! They installed a Ring Doorbell at my home in June 2018. ($50 up front charge) The tech was great. Showed up on time and got the install done. No complaints. HOWEVER, by the end of August, I discovered that Hello Tech had been charging me $9.95 per month. When I called them, they told me that when I booked my appointment, I signed up for a monthly computer maintenance service. (first month free) I did no such thing of course, and don't know how they came about that claim. I can guess though, that when I signed up, there may have been some small print about a computer maint. service. Don't know that for sure, but what I DO know, is that I never knowingly signed up for anything other than the doorbell install. (hence my theory about hidden, small print). That said, when I called them on it, they agreed to refund the monthly service charges. Fortunately, I caught on and called them on it. Makes me wonder how many other people DON'T catch on, and are paying for monthly services they don't get, and are not even aware they have been signed up for. read more

Awesome experience. From initiating the bid with Nest, scheduling the appt, super clear pricing (nothing hidden), professional installer (Kevin) that answered all my questions, and the list goes on. There was some type of glitch in the app that he was able to help resolve for me (which was my concern and why I requested support for my equipment). DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! Michael was not very ~skilled~ at his job. First of all, my technician was late. Second of all, he made a huge mess in my living room, and seemed to have no problem leaving trash everywhere. Third of all, he made all of us really uncomfortable with awkward and personal questions about our romantic lives (I live in a house of four college girls). Fourthly, his phone kept pinging and ringing and ringing and his ringtone was the doorbell sound, so we kept thinking someone was at the door. Like dude, just turn your phone on vibrate. Fifth, he said he couldn't hide the wires. He said that my walls had fire stops which are horizontal beams so he couldn't drop the wire through the wall. Fine. The only thing is that there was not only an outlet but also the connecter for the other wire RIGHT BEHIND THE TV. When I asked him why he couldn't plug it in there he started telling me about how it couldn't work because that was put in by the builder (which made no sense). So instead he just put this ugly plastic cover that didn't match my wall paint over the wires. Sixth, he gave me the "full rage motion" kind of mount which I didn't want, and I expressed to him that I didn't want it but he said it was an upgrade and made me feel like I was being ungrateful for what I didn't want. Also HE DIDNT EVEN PUT MY TV ON STRAIGHT. IT WASNT LEVEL. LITERALLY HIS JOB IS TO MOUNT TVS THAT ARE PARALLEL WITH THE CEILING AND FLOOR, AND HE COULDN'T EVEN DO THAT. When I expressed to him that my TV wasn't straight he pulled out the worlds smallest level and goes "it's pretty much straight". Pretty much straight isn't straight. Pretty much straight ain't gonna line up with the corner of the wall and my media stand underneath it. Pretty much straight is going to drive me absolutely insane for the rest of the time I have this stupid TV mount on the back of my TV. I'm having to have my handyman come and replace it because it's so annoying how it's just not straight. My handyman already came back and put the wires behind the TV, in literally 4 minutes because it was so simple to do. Moral of the story, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY TO MOUNT YOUR TV. GET SOMEONE WHO CAN AT LEAST MOUNT IT STRAIGHT. read more

I was very happy with the services provided by HelloTech. My technician was extremely punctual, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He resolved my issue and explained why I was having difficulty with my printer setup on my various devices. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again and would be pleased to have the same technician assist me with other technical support needs. If I had any feedback that was a suggested area for improvement, it would be to eliminate the individual categories in which to request services. In my case, the printer was the primary issue, but I was having other problems with my computers running slow, inconsistent WiFi, difficulty with photo downloads from my iPhone, and a host of other issues. You pay a technician to visit for a single issue. Any additional category is charged at an equivalent rate unless you purchase an annual plan in which case you receive a discounted price. In other words, let's say I pay $89 to resolve the printer issue on my two desktops and laptop. If I have an additional problem related to any other issue, I a pay an additional $89 per issue. If you have multiple problems and "categories" of concern, this can quickly add up. It would be nice to have an option to pay an hourly rate to address a variety of technical problems when they are in the same "family" per se (ie. computer technical difficulties). Once again, this is just a suggestion to help minimize the out-of-pocket costs to the consumers and encourage repeat business. Otherwise, it's just not affordable for many non-technically gifted folks like myself. However, I still HIGHLY recommend HelloTech and have only positive feedback to share regarding my experience with them from beginning to end. Even the preliminary online chat was informative and helped me choose HelloTech over another well-known tech support service. Give these guys a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more
