My experience with HT was the absolute worst I've encountered with any firm (yes, even worse than Spectrum). Scheduled three appointments and at the last minute cancelled all three. On my part, the mount was used at my old place so it wasnt inside the box and I wasn't exactly sure of the pieces BUT there was a manual and a bunch of extra parts just in case. On his part, i dont think he was trained to mount tvs. On hellotech part, another person should have been sent out with him. Im 32 weeks pregnant and had to hold a huge tv while he mounted it. He also installed the mount backwards and had to redo it leaving multiple holes in my wall. Also, screws weren't even straight. They are sticking sideways out of my wall. When tech was done he told me not to move it around a lot and to be careful in case it falls. Not what you want to hear when you have a toddler and soon a newborn. read more

Upon arriving 1 hour late than our scheduled appointment time for 10 a m. Robert called and said they will be late and said they should be there in 20 minutes. Well it was an hour late total. Two men were here and they were here for 2 hours and 15 minutes to mount a tv on our wall. The one kept talking and talking about his personal life. Also, neither had a stud finder and we had to borrow one from our neighbor. Also my husband lended them a wratchet which they didn't have either. Very unprofessional. I had an appointment on a Thursday. The tech called me on Monday morning and left a voicemail message saying he was in my neighborhood and could come over to do the surround sound install. I didn't call him back because I was working. My son told me that the tech was sitting in his car in front of my house at 4 p.m. Kinda creepy to have someone sitting in front of your house. He came over on Thursday for the install. It took 10 minutes but he did NOT hookup my DVD player to my TV. I tried to watch a DVD but could only hear it, not see it. I hooked it up myself. Derrick was awesome! First off, he actually showed up! The two techs scheduled before him did not, so I had very high doubts and no trust in Hellotech which is why I gave 4 stars. But Derrick changed that. He was very polite and easy to talk to. He knew about the device he was installing, which was great because it's in beta testing stage right now so it's not even on the market yet. He was prepared for any possiblity of a problem, which we did encounter with my lock. After finding a solution there was an issue with the positioning and Derrick was able to handle it in stride, patience and good sense of humor, with no problems whatsoever. The tech didn't not arrive on time and had to be rescheduled for the next day. I had to fly out of town late the day there supposed to arrive. when a tech did arrive I had someone there. The did not hang the tv where I requested and when I called and told him, he hung up on me. It is hung 2 feet tothe left of where I sat the tv. It was to go above where it was sitting on the stand. And it was placed very low. It was not what I paid well over $200 for. I should have bought a drill and done it myself. It was a waste of time and money. I called Hello Tech and provided a photo of the tv hung low next to the door frame and light switch (come on at least put it reasonably close to where is belongs) and they said someone would be out the next day to fix it. Then I got an email saying they were reviewing the request and would reply in 24-48 hours. Well 48 hours later I am still contacting them with no response and run arounds. I guess I will have to fix it it pay another company. Thank goodness I paid with my American Express because I am stopping the charge. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND HIRE SOMEONE ELSE, ANYONE ELSE. I guess we can always pop some popcorn and sit on the floor between the kitchen and family room and watch some movies. read more

Lies, shakedowns, crappy installations. Was told the price would be $160.00, for two nest cam IQ outdoor installations. "Installer" showed up, with barely any tools, no ladder. Needed to use my drill, my drill bits, my ladder. Had no protective clothing, nothing covering his shoes. Then proceeded to tell me that a "second installation" would be an additional $75, CASH. Ended up installing the cameras where I did not want, left my brick outside my house damaged, left the inside of my house a mess, and required my help, when I stated the only reason I'm paying to have them installed is because I injured my back and couldn't do it myself. These cameras are set up for my disabled wife, and this guy is shaking me down for extra pocket money. Worst service ever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

If I could give Zero stars I would! Had Hellotech come out and mount my tv. The tech was at my place for 3 hours and left with the mount covering my hdmi plug-ins, didn't install the device to hide the wires cause she didn't know how but left a nice large hole in my wall. I called hellotech right after she left to get someone else out to fix the damage she did (remount the tv and install the cord concealer). It's been two days and I have called helloetech an additional 5 Times... each time they keep saying someone will be out to fix it and that someone will call me back with a resolution. Thus I sit here with a TV I can't use properly and a giant hole in my living room wall! I will be heading to their corporate office Monday morning ... let's see how it goes Run away from this company as fast as you can! read more

BEWARE. HelloTech advised prior to appointment time that their Tech would be wearing a mask and request I wear one too. I waited over a week for someone to come. The Tech cancelled appointment an hour before scheduled arrival and advised he'd be there in afternoon. The Tech arrived with no mask, sloppily dressed, and a with a sick child in tow. The Tech was not familiar with AiMESH router system and connected it wrong. The Tech child was playing roughly with new equipment and instruction sheet. I had to ask him to stop because Tech would not. The Techs child took the folded up instructions upon leaving (observed on camera). I texted the Tech to bring back the instruction sheet, but he just said that he didn't have it. I had to get someone else to "fix" his work. I would not recommend HelloTech. read more

They also said they had my promo code for my discount. No tech showed up at all for the first four scheduled appointments. I was then promised $10 off "for goodwill," but they charged the full amount. The tech who finally came couldn't wait to leave and missed a door and two windows in installing a security system. He was upset that I wanted the sensors screwed in rather than taped on. I called a number of times to have this fixed and was just strung along each time. SimpliSafe tells me that there have been so many customer complaints that they've switched to a different installation company. read more

Made an appointment, and a technician (Troy) was able to come right away the next day -- absolutely amazing! He arrived right when we needed him and solved the problem in less than 15 minutes. We tried to get him to stay for pancakes but he had to head out. Your repair man Andy was so great. I wanted my old XP to be able to print. The XP kept shutting off. He was so patient. He kept working trying to get it to print. He had my printer working with my lap top and while working on the XP it went back to printer offline. He did an update that fixed it but told me if it happens again there maybe something wrong with the printer and I should return it before the time is up. I got bamboozled by a couple of quasy Long Beach hipsters who up-sold me a bunch of nonsense. Heres how it works- You call Geekatoo, they source the work out to any stoners that are available that know how to plug in an HDMI cable. They then charge $120 bucks per thing they plug in, literally plug in. When I called to complain, Geekatoo's interest was only in penalizing the stoner dudes they had come hang my TV. They have yet to get back to me and offer any sort of compensation. $470.00 to have 1 TV hung crooked, so I had to get another one, and have these bozos tie knots with my cables and tell me they didn't have the tools to run a cable through my wall already set up for a floating tv. Oh they "plugged in" my Roku and Apple TV. It's a long exhausting story, but if you call Geekatoo make sure you clarify everything you want them to do ahead of time. It's a racket. The technician, Jose C., arrived exactly as scheduled at 10am on a Sunday (!) and could not have been nicer. He configured our HP network printer and made it wireless (by connecting it to our Airport Extreme router) and then configured all our laptops and cell phones so that everyone can now print wirelessly from any device. Tech Dan from Hellotech was a god-send! I tried for years to get my scanning feature on my printer to communicate with my laptop with no luck. Dan came in and within minutes had the problem resolved, walked me through the process and had me follow the new steps myself to make sure I could handle it when on my own.
