I went to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed for a wedding. Thank goodness I went a month ahead of the event date because they messed up the first hem which took a week and longer because they got my phone number on file wrong and never notified me that the work was done. When I went to pick it up they messed it up and didn't take it all the way in. When I went back for the second fitting everything worked out until it was time to check out. When I initially dropped off the dress I paid for the services with the discount code they offered on their website but when I checked out, Josh let me know I didn't pay for it yet and i will need to pay full price and they couldn't accept my discount code anymore (which you have to take a five minute quiz for btw) because I had to have it paid for it when I dropped it off... I explained to him that i did exactly that and the person checking me out probably messed it up because I did see a pending charge on my card as I walked out. I even showed him a screenshot dating back to the drop off date Feb 26, 2025 of the coupon code from their website and he said it's too bad I should've read the instructions on the website... somehow it was my fault for doing exactly what they posted and what's worse is they messed up multiple times and had horrible service and couldn't even do the job right in the first place and he dared to criticize me to read correctly. Overall definitely not worth the experience and insult and on top of that a $200 bill. If you choose to patronize this store after reading my review, then you accept the treatment from the owner, Josh, which I'm here to caution you against. I was uncertain where to take my shoe for repair, so I searched online and noted two nearby shoe repair shops in Boynton Beach. I read mixed reviews about Hem Over Heels, but since I needed a simple fix, I opted for the closest option. This turned out to be a HUGE mistake. A particularly negative review I had read mentioned that upon showing her boot to the owner, he proceeded to tear off the sole after suggesting she needed new soles, despite her not requesting this service. This is relevant because I faced a similar situation. I've never experienced such appalling service in retail before. Josh refused to simply fix this ONE shoe I brought in. He insisted that the appearance of the shoe I brought in indicated the other would require the same repair. Despite my objections, he would not proceed with the repair unless I brought the other shoe in for him to work on both shoes! The one at home is perfectly fine. When I got home I even tugged on the strap where the other one was broken and it was fine. Furthermore, he began to pull at another area of the shoe presumably to demonstrate that it would also break soon. When I saw him start to tug on the part that wasn't broken, I remembered the review where he pulled apart the sole on her boot without permission soI grabbed my shoe from him and said don't pull on that strap! He walked to the back angry and gave me to a nice girl that was in the front. I told the girl there is no way I would do business with this man regarding how he spoke to me and for his refusal to fix the one shoe that was broken. I yelled toward the back of the shop where he was after running away from me, "I will never give you my business and I will definitely be writing a horrible review so others are warned of your atrocious treatment to customers." As I was storming out of the store he screamed I don't want your business anyway! I left there in disbelief! I still had the address of the other shoe repair so only 2 miles down the road at Military and Woolbright, Boynton Shoe Repair 3837 W Woolbright Rd., Boynton Beach. I brought my business elsewhere to a very nice man who was happy to fix my just ONE shoe. If and when the other shoe breaks the same way,that will be MY problem to get that one fixed....certainly not the decision of Josh. I, personally, have a retail store in Livingston, NJ for the last 35 years. If I treated my customers like that, I would have no business. I hope his actions put him out of business. Josh seems to always make a comment after reading every review. I did the same review on google and he ranted about my review. I am sure he will do it again even though I requested him to keep his comments to himself. What I have written is exactly the truth. Don't use this shop unless you want this kind of treatment. My next review is going to the Better Business Bureau. Whenever I mention my experience to a friend they tell me they have been there and will never go back because of THEIR treatment. It seems this is his norm! He should pay attention to the phrase "The Customer Is Always Right". Second part of review as an answer back to the owner after he responded to me: As I assumed, he did write the same lengthy response to my review as you can see. You should read in it's entirety the response he wrote. It is proof that he is a raving lunitic. I see his problem and that is that he thinks as a freaken shoe repairman he compares himself to a doctor in how he presents his trade. Get off your high horse. There is no need to have demanded me to give you both shoes if I only wanted 1 shoe fixed. That is up to me, not YOU! I picked up my one shoe today from Boynton Shoe Repair who was very pleasant and never asked me to bring in my other shoe if I only wanted the one fixed. I wore both shoes today...the old one and the new repaired one....They are perfect and I am a happy customer and I was treated with respect when I dropped the shoe off and picked up the shoe repaired today from Boynton Shoe Repair. He knows how to treat customers unlike YOU! You should understand no one wants to write a bad review ....it takes very bad treatment for someone to write a bad review. When a customer has been treated poorly, a bad review becomes necessary to warn the public. You are a real wacko....Anyone who reads the answer back to my review you wrote will see that. Giving an analogy of me bringing in my shoe to you and you insisting you will not work on my shoe to bringing a baby into the drs? Something is really wrong with you. Did my 18 year old agree to a price, v yes, but sure what given an explanation as to what the prices were. She came in for him. A simple hem. She was upsold, was never shown different ways to do it, and was just told a price. Is she young, and could have walked out? ? Absolutely, but she is Young. She didn't know to ask for different types of hems. They never showed her different types of hems. I wnt and tried to have a conversation with the owner, and he was rude and dismissive and absolutely would not hear of anything. He offered to show me a video, but then stopped when he probably realized that we were correct. My daughter was with me, and she was saying that nobody gave her any information as to why the Hem was so expensive. She said he what when there when she came in. My daughter was absolutely taken advantage of due to ageism. She was never shown different types of hems as he said, and when she asked why the price was so high they just said because it's jean. She accepted that and should had walked out then, but she didn't know. She naively assumed they were not going to take advantage of her. We will not be back, and I suggest you do the same. read more

I had a stuck zipper on my suitcase. I called the shop and was told to bring in the luggage. The gentleman who helped me was thoughtful and considerate. He manipulated and fixed the zipper fairly quickly. WHen I asked him what I owe him he said - I did it real quick no charge. He not only fixed it but also brought the suitcase outside and put it into my car. This was greatly appreciated since I use a walker. What a rare experience in these times/ He has a lot of services avaiable from making keys to clothing alterations. Very overpriced. Had 3 dresses altered. One they didn't listen at all- which i understand I was asking for a lot done to it (hem, fixing the neckline and closing it up to be appropriate for work) but they made it seem like they understood me. then when I received it it was all wrong! On the second one, i simply asked to replace a zipper and told them sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Well after I picked it up I still had the same problem.... so either they didn't fix it at all or they didn't do it properly. they also charged me $30 which is absurd for a zipper. The other dress was correct. I wouldnt go back there and definitely wouldn't recommend taking anything valuable here unless it's something very simple to fix. Very close to what happened with two distinct differences : the amount of $15 and $20 was never mentioned until I repeated what I was told to make certain I understood. I asked several times for a ballpark cost. The response I got was it would depend on the type of hem. Which is understandable. So I asked what those costs are.. There must be a range right? That's where the $25 was mentioned and only $25. The question that elicited the $15 and $20 amount came later in the conversation and was as follows : "so the minimum charge to hem a pair of jeans is $25?" and yes I was surprised.. But only at that point were the other amounts quoted. Now because I consider myself a pretty fair person , and I make mistakes, let's say that you did mentioned the $15 and $20.. What if that got by me? I'm a potential client with one pretty simple question. I can't get an answer and you claim that our 2 minute conversation had you close to cursing me out. It's your business and you deal with your clientele in any way you choose. I was asking simple questions and got condescending responses. I'm sure right now you're saying you neither want nor need clients like me. That's your prerogative. As it is mine to take My business elsewhere. You're still in business so I presume you make a lot of other people happy. FYI I brought my 6 jeans pants elsewhere and paid the $25 each to have them hemmed with someone who wasn't quite as condescending and rude. read more

I spent $55.00 to have all my chef knives & scissors sharpened at Hems over Heels. The quality of the sharpening was very poor, I called and spoke with one of the owners, he said bring them back in. So I brought all my knives and scissors back in only to be insulted by the owner telling me, "they are sharp see I'm cutting paper." He continued to insult me and tell me that I do not know how to use a knife and was not professional towards me. I have been a chef for over 30 years and definitely know how to use a knife and know when it is sharp and when it is not. The owner fixed my work shoes and backs up his work. 2 weeks after the repair something else happened to the shoes that appeared to me to indicate maybe the repair didn't last very long or maybe wasn't done properly so I went back to the store and discussed it. It wasn't the exact problem that he originally worked on but was similar and I expected he wouldn't fix it a second time without charging me. He told me he backs up his work so he said he would repair the shoe again with no additional charge. I even offered him $10 the second time because I felt a little guilty. He refused the money and insisted he backs up his work. It's been 6 weeks since the second repair and the shoes are holding up well. I took the dress to Hem Over Heels, in tears, hoping they could help me. They did so much more than help me....they made the dress look flawless on me! They are so extremely friendly and helpful. Recently, I also brought in a very special hat that got damaged. This hat belonged to a child who was extremely upset that it got damaged.
