my go-to place for eyebrow threading. only $6-7 and they always do an amazing job. during covid, they have taken great precautions: hand sanitizer at the door and temperature check, writing your name and number down (for contact tracing), and sanitizing the chairs after each client. Although I've been to this Hemali's est. w/my daughters a several times over the past year the workers seem to always half speak or even greet you as you come in the door & it was more of the same at this visit on 07/06/18. This past Fri. 07/06 I went w/my daughter and the workers attitudes were horrible, the front desk worker that took my payment hit my arm w/the clipboard that she slid over for me to sign my cc slip at the counter & didn't apologize or even say excuse me she just looked & told me to sign while she spoke to the other worker in their language (they BOTH CLEARLY SAW WHAT SHE DID because I stared at her). Because we just love Preeya (hope the spelling is correct?) who is the ONLY reason we come to Hemali's because Preeya has always been so friendly, professional, & gives helpful tips on eyebrow care. Preeya is the best at eyebrows there, believe that!!! Word of mouth can make or break you, train you staff to treat ANYONE who come through Hemali's door w/RESPECT & KINDNESS! We believe there is a lot of jealous workers against Preeya because she's VERY GOOD & has a heck of a clientele!!! The lady who gave me a brazilian was not nice. She made me feel bad about ever shaving in my life (What was I supposed to do? Go get waxed when I hit puberty?). She was extremely rough and didn't get all the hair. I had to go home and pluck. She should have been the one doing that for me - I was paying for hair removal after all! read more

I had a Brazilian wax and Hemali's "touch" wasn't exactly friendly or warm. she walked in (didn't say hello, good day, or anything) and ordered me to remove my underwear. Really Hemali? You are about to have your hands in my crotch for goodness sake!!! She slapped the wax on and started ripping away, then doused me with powder. When she finished I felt like a cheap whore, she didn't clean me up, apply disinfectant, nothing! I had to go to the sink & wet some paper towels to straighten up my situation. Despite that experience, I tried to give them another chance. This time she at least said hello. This time she kept applying wax over and over to one area to just get a single hair! When I felt like I was getting raw, I told her forget it. When she'd finished then reached for a balled up wet piece of paper towel to wipe my area. I had no idea where it came from, so I said "no thanks"! Bottom line: you get what you pay for. read more

I've never had my eyebrows threaded before and this place had good reviews and did not disappoint! The lady was really nice and I didn't have to wait at all. BIG NO. Very unprofessional and I had the worst experience and service. I was there for the eyebrow threading and even though I gave them instructions they did not follow them and on top of it they cut my skin which left a bad scar. After mentioning that there is a bad cut I did not get any sorry back and all I get is "oh"!!. They are very unprofessional and I feel like they don't care what a client asks. I switched to Hemali's a few years ago after having terrible luck with eyebrow threading at a different local salon. After coming for 4+ years, I can say that it is really hit or miss with who does your eyebrows. I've learned to just ask for a certain lady whenever I go in, because I know she does them nicely. Last time I went, my lady wasn't in and my eyebrows were entirely too thin. I grew them out again and went back to my normal lady and she fixed everything and my eyebrows look great again! I was visiting my mother-in-law in Canton and needed my full face threaded. This place was absolutely perfect and their prices are even better. In Southern California (where I'm from) a full threading of the face would be around $50. At Hermali's I paid $15 total and left the girl a $5 tip. This place is hit and miss. Some girls do a good job and others don't. I have had many eyebrow threading sessions here (mostly good when they listen to what you want), leg waxing (not happy), facials (OK,very rushed) and hair coloring (very good). Some things that could improve the ratings for this place: 1) Have that gentleman not pick up the phone as he sounds terribly rude, never says thank you or shows any other polite gesture to show it's a business! I keep saying thank you and he never does 2) When you call for an appointment, he often says I don't need one. When I get there, I end up waiting! 3) When I do get an appointment for a longer service, they don't even ask for your name/number often. 4) People should not be speaking so loudly in their own language in front of non-Indian customers. To me, it's really rude. This coming from an Indian who understands parts of what they are saying but I cringe when I see them all do this in front of an American. Makes me wonder how uncomfortable they must feel, wondering what they are saying about him/her! This again is not a good business practice. Do it at your own time but not in front of customers that don't speak your language. 5) Ask customers what/how they want and not just throw some service at them. Read other people's reviews here on eyebrow threading. 6) The voicemail when you call is so..........low tone that you can't understand a word of what she is saying. This is an easy fix, pls take care of it. 7) Please say thank you and hello to customers and make them feel welcome. It's a very basic requirement of running a service oriented business. Lastly, I like the services here for the most part and it's a convenient commute for me, I like the prices too but as I said, it's a hit and miss. I went to Hemalis about a month back. They are rude from the get go. I had once gone before for a threading and had asked the price for body waxing. So this time I went for the waxing. The girls were rude and pulled the hair every which way. Then they left patches in places and you cant always tell because you are sticky at the time. Even Hemali left areas completely undone and she is very inconsiderate in her demeanor as well as methods. As I was leaving, the price changed and they were talking in Guju about how because I was bigger I should be charged more than even what was quoted by Hemali. I went back for them to do the places that were left and they refused. They not only embarrassed me by their talk but they were inconsiderate. Them not waxing in the direction of hair growth caused in growns and it just seemed to break the hair not truly pull it out by the root. They seem to do the half way and are pretty uncouth. This is a good salon and is my second visit to get my eyebrows, arms wax done . I have got facial done here too. Nice . But my biggest complaint is their wax , it was ridiculously too hot . Let me start by saying that I've had 4 different estheticians give me a Brazilian wax and they have gone from long and painful to fast and smooth! Hemali is definitely fast and smooth and on top of that the less painful of all. The salon is clean and I do enjoy the music when I am in wax room getting ready. The bathroom can be hit or miss. I've only gotten waxing services but I do want to trim my hair here. I do understand when other reviewers complain about the man on the phone. However, I've been going to Hemali for a year now and I'm still not used to telling him over the phone about a Brazilian. Though, when I come in honestly it's whatever he's used to it. The other girls are very nice and polite. Hemali is great! She's very comfortable to be around and has small talk and understands when I'm having a painful time. Hemali is by far the fastest at doing a Brazilian wax. I sometimes keep up with my wax but then I fall off. When you do not consistently wax and you begin again that's the most painful. Hemali makes the as pain free as possible. I haven't gotten a Brazilian in over 6 months and I was expecting lots of pain and bumps. To my surprise it was super fast literally 10 minutes and I got my bikini line. So far I haven't had too many bumps but witches hazel can cure that. Hemali does not double dip in her wax which by the way her wax is great and natural. I feel like her wax strips also contribute to speediness since it's not a cloth like material. Hemali always uses gloves and keeps her area clean and ready. If it's your first time or you're thinking about getting a Brazilian wax don't think about it just make the appointment. A Brazilian is life changing until I make the step towards laser hair removal, I will continue coming to Hemali. Hemalis prices are amazing it's not reasonable, her price is great! Forget nonsense spas like Om for a Brazilian that say, "starting at $85," what does that mean??? Make the trip to Hemali you won't regret it! read more

Love this place! Best threading in the area and unbeatable prices. For the most part, the threaders get you in and out quickly but you may have to wait if you come during peak times (after work or Saturday afternoon). It's worth the wait though! read more

I have been going here for a while. The service really depends on who you get. This last time they were so busy with the Christmas rush. I got Hemali herself, and unfortunately was EXTREMELY disappointed. She was not even paying attention when she did my threading. She was actually talking to other people while doing it not even caring how rough she was on my very sensitive skin. She ended up tearing my skin, and now I have multiple scabs on my upper lip from where I was bleeding. In general, I really like Priya. Other than that, if you happen to get Hemali I would ask for someone else who might care a little bit more about what they are doing instead of how fast she can get it done. read more

Really awful customer service. I walk in and all of the employees seem bothered, as if they have better things to do besides serving their only customer in the location at the time. I've had plenty of experiences going for eyebrow threads, so I can make comparisons, and everywhere I've been, I would say was far better than this place. The eyebrow threader doesn't even ask how I want my eyebrows threaded. She loudly speaks in her own language to other employees who are just sitting around, begin laughing, and then go right at my eyebrow. She hurries up, and pulls the hair out as if she has many other customers and better things to do, and then hands over a mirror, in the interim she is speaking out loud and laughing to her coworkers in another language (perhaps about my bleeding eyebrows?.... god knows)....Looking at the mirror, she had made my eyebrows too thin, and both were uneven... She never bothered to fix the eyebrows, instead said something I couldn't even understand and snatched the mirror away.... I'm not sure how this place is in business. If you want a good eyebrow threading experience go elsewhere. Very uncomfortable experience and very rude service. read more
