We tried this place for the first time yesterday. This one was a little hard to rate - the food was GREAT!! Everything tasted fabulous! So no problems there at all. But...the service wasn't very good. The coffee didn't come before the meal, and we had to flag her down for that. Then there was no coffee refill, so my husband just went and helped himself. He asked for toast before the meal, and that didn't happen - at least it did come with the meal. We also never got a bill where we could see totals of everything, we had to ask for that separately. Our server was very nice, she just wasn't really on top of things. Wow! It's hard to set yourself apart as a breakfast/brunch spot but somehow Urban Egg managed to do so. Their menu has all the classics but also has some more unique options. If I could rate a 100, I would! We had the most amazing experience! We were seated outside quickly upon our arrival. Service was awesome! Everything we ate was awesome - pancake flight, added chicken to the salad, and bacon jam burger. The bacon jam burger was so messy but soooo good! We had the strawberry basil lemonade.....yum!! I came here for brunch with a friend. It's in a tucked away spot, I've lived in this area for a while now and never noticed it before. Upon our entrance we were greeted immediately and shown to our seats with a wait time of about 2mins, they even accommodated our choice of seating outside. My daughter enjoyed her French toast breakfast and I also enjoyed my bacon jam burger. It was delicious and very filling. Their local honey lemonade was my favorite of the day. They use no sugar so the honey works perfectly in balancing out the lemon. Went this morning and it was great! I joined the online waitlist about an hour before we went as the line was long as suspected on a Sunday morning. We waited another 10-20 minutes while there but was able to enjoy the nice weather outside. We all had the Maui Wowie Mimosa which we loved and shared the Bourbon $$$ Bacon which we also loved! We have been coming here every Sunday because we like the food and service. We make our reservation on Yelp each time. Today, we automatically were removed from the waitlist after waiting 35+ minutes and when I asked the host and showed her on my phone she was not accommodating and blamed it on Yelp and we were then moved back to the end of the line to wait all over again. It turns out that the managers help out their staff all the time and prioritize working as a team so the task at hand can be accomplished. Our waiter told us that the work environment was very pleasant and they really enjoyed working here because the management was great to their employees! I tried the sausage, egg, cheese sandwich with pesto aioli. I wasn't too hungry after the bacon but it was good too. Not my favorite sandwich but overall decent! I like that all the meals come with a side too so it makes it worth the money. The sandwich with side was $16, so slightly pricey but not awful. This location is in a shared plaza with plenty of parking. If you are a part of a large party, they will seat you have over 1/2 your party present. The space is big and open. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and personable and provided great recommendations. We all enjoyed our food. Presentation was also lovely. There were plenty of options that didn't feel too plain and boring which was a plus! The service was great and you can tell it's a popular spot for brunch because of how fast the tables fill up. What a great menu! This place is right up my alley when it comes to the kind of food they serve. They have corned beef hash, Denver omelets, biscuits and gravy, breakfast bowls, all the stuff I like. I ended up getting the corned beef hash with a couple eggs over easy and toast. The problem was the corned beef hash had a sweet flavor, I think from the bacon jalapeño chutney that I didn't like. I wanted to try the sausage gravy so we ordered a side of biscuits and gravy and boy was the gravy fantastic. You can taste the sage but it's not over powering. Again there was a downside because the biscuit was hard and crunchy. Next we got a pancake. It was fluffy and delicious. My wife got the avocado toast and she really liked it. Our server was great. She was super attentive and helpful. We didn't complain about the food but I am sure she would've handled it no problem. I kinda figure me not liking the corned beef hash is a me problem and the crunchy biscuit is a them problem so they cancel each other out. The ambience is pretty generic breakfast place. If you're inside I am not sure you could distinguish it from any of the other similar breakfast establishments. They do have outdoor seating which is nice on good weather days here in KC. Overall I think our experience was mixed. I think it's 3.5 outta 5 so I rounded up on the review, but it's promising enough that we are gonna try it again. read more

Although this breakfast place is usually busy, we were able to get in on an early weekday with no problem. I was surprised that the espresso drinks did not have much offerings of kinds of "milk" to mix in. And then to get an upcharge for oat milk on an expensive coffee seemed a bit much. Anyway the service was good and the food was delicious. My friend ordered pancakes which had a biscuit like type of taste (imho) and very fluffy. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette with a side salad. First time visiting Urban Egg, and I'm kind of surprised at the Yelp ratings compared to my experience. We waited about an hour to be seated on a Saturday around 10:30AM, which I felt was to be expected. I ordered the biscuit and gravy and loaded hash browns. Service was really good-- can't complain there. But it was the food that really didn't stand out. Although the gravy was flavorful, I didn't think it was exceptional. In addition, the biscuit felt a little drier than I'd prefer. The menu stated the recipe was award-winning, but didn't specify which award was won. The loaded hash browns were good, but nothing to write home about. I think Urban Egg is a good option for a nicer, sit-down breakfast place for families, but it's not a foodie's dream. I would potentially go back to try something different, but it's quite a far drive for me, and I'm not sure it's worth another drive. read more

A short drive away from our hotel was this well-regarded eatery. We came here to meet some local friends for breakfast and it was a great choice! Bright and spacious interior with a high ceiling. It looked like a place frequented by the locals, casual, and easy. Lots of parking in the lot in front of the restaurant. The dish that captured our attention was the Rocky Mountain Corned Beef Hash. We had the same with different bread choices. The corned beef was very well flavored, more like pulled meat rather than a true minced hash.
