Stopped by hoping to grab Bok a Bokchicken, only to find it's been replaced by Hen House. Decided to give it a shot anyway. Ordered the Double Cluck with crinkle fries, garlic toast, and chicken strips with ranch. Overall... it was just okay. Nothing terrible, but definitely nothing memorable either. It honestly tasted like something you'd grab from a gas station--filling, but missing that "something" that makes you want to come back. The fries was pretty salty, and the whole meal just felt kind of one-note. Not bad enough to complain hard, but not good enough to recommend based on what I had. Service-wise, it took about 10 minutes to get my order--and I was the only person there. Maybe I just picked the wrong item, so I'd be open to trying something else if there's a standout on the menu. Look, I'm all for hoping a new business succeeds, but this place was mediocre at best. Neither one of us finished our meals because of the quality. Chicken was severely over-cooked and chewy, while somehow still managing to not be crispy lol. 80% sure the garlic toast was from Costco. "Arnold palmer" was predominantly pink lemonade? Not even sure you can even call that an Arnold Palmer lol. I'll give them credit on the house sauce which was good, and the disproportionate amount of fries were fine. Also not really an issue, but no indoor seating. So on a cold, rainy day like today we just went out and ate in the car which just added to the disappointing experience lol. My first time going to this new place that opened in the totem lake village plaza underneath my apartment. First off the food was a huge hit the garlic toast bread is just an awesome touch to an overall great meal at a good price. My favorite part of the meal was the chicken tenders. They come in 2,3 or 4 tender meal options which is just so convenient and so much better than having to buy like a 3 or 6 meal piece I love the option of choosing exactly how many you want. The breading on these is arguably the best I've ever had on a tender. It's crispy and thin and not greasy or clunky and clumpy like a lot of tenders. The chicken itself was so juicy idk if they brine it or inject it with something but it was so juicy and the skin had the perfect crisp. They come with a choice of sauces but my favorite was actually the packets of hot sauce they have at the counter with the utensils to me it's the perfect style hot sauce for fried chicken. I think it's better than raising Cane. One difference that I experienced between the two is there are Texas toast. Raising Cane, that I experienced only toasted one side, which I do not understand why would you have one side toasted, and the other side of the bread NOT? After seeing a movie nearby I noticed this new chicken shop that was on the cusp of grand opening. I stopped by today for lunch and really liked it. I ordered the Double Cluck combo meal which came with 2 tenders, a large portion of crinkle cut fries, a piece of garlic toast and a choice of a side all for $11. That's a great bargain! I had coleslaw for my side. It was creamy and slightly sweet-just right. I also had an Arnold Palmer for a drink (a blend of their pink lemonade and black tea) which was tasty. The chicken and fries were cooked to order and served fresh and hot. Perfect! The tenders had light breading and came with my choice of several dipping sauces. I ordered Hot Honey which goes well with tenders. The menu is pretty basic with tenders of varying quantities and a sandwich offering also. There's an odd offering like "Whoopie Pie", not sure what that's about. The inside is pretty small with no indoor seating so it seems more like a walk up place but there's a couple of sidewalk type tables and chairs outside the front entrance for somewhere to eat. The TV inside is playing Foghorn Leghorn which seems appropriate. This location is central in the Totem Lake area with plenty of other nearby businesses and things to do. I read that Hen House is owned by the same group that owns Joe's Burgers located a stones throw away and both out of the Portland area. Welcome to the PNW! Hen House made a good impression on me for both quality and price. read more

First time i tried this place!!! The chicken is the closest thing to canes!! I missed the taste and Hen House perfectly gave me nostalgia! The service was quick and sweet! I do believe the guy (at the time) was alone, so the wait outside was warm since it was so sunny out, but the wait was worth it! I absolutely love the inside of the restaurant! Disappointed by the quality of the tenders, rubbery and slightly tough to chew. The breading has no flavor to it at all. Thin cut crinkle cut fries and garlic bread are yummy, but are not a saving grace for a chicken shop. Also suuuuuuuper large portion of fries (pro for more food, con since it's filler and frankly unnecessary). Cole slaw was okay but mostly doused in mayo. Sad because I reaaaally wanted to like this place, maybe can try again in the future. read more

Had high hopes coming in, but was a little disappointed. Think of it as a similar concept to Raising Canes. We ordered the Rooster (4pc tenders), coleslaw side and corn side. Food: The fries and chicken were good (however I still think Ezell's is better taste-wise). The sides however were pretty bad. The garlic butter corn was incredibly bland and tasted like corn straight of a can. Coleslaw also wasn't the best. I did like the garlic bread, and the house sauce was good too. Portion size: Very generous with the mains, the box could barely shut with how many fries were in there. The sides are way smaller however. Customer service: needs work Especially for a newer place in the heart of ultra-competitive totem lake, there was little to no effort to acknowledge or welcome customers as they walked in. The most interaction I got was a head nod towards the order kiosk after I'd been standing in the entrance for a few minutes. Time: No eta was given once I ordered and I never actually spoke to anyone so I wasn't sure what to expect. From placing the order to walking out was about ~10 minutes. Overall, wasn't terrible but will probably drive down the street to Ezell's next time I want fried chicken. read more

I had zero clue what to expect coming in a week after opening but I was pleasantly surprised. Portion sizes were excellent for the price. I ordered a Triple Cluck which came with 3 tenders, a dump-truck load of crinkle cut fries, a buttery garlic toast, plus a side of choosing (I picked the coleslaw) all for just 14 bucks. Chicken tasted fresh and wasn't doused in oil like other places, and the fries were seasoned well. The food was all cooked to order and piping hot. As a Phoenix, Arizona native, we have been searching for a Raising Canes equivalent in the Seattle area and have failed miserably until we found Hen House! The meals feel just like a canes combo and the sauce is almost identical! The portions are even bigger which is hard to imagine.. we'll be back! read more
