Up on arrival the guy is like oh man you have a visor on there so now its gonna take us an extra hour to take the visor off and we need aboit 2 hours on top of that to get the job done ! I agreed and left there at 2 pm by 330 pm they called and said my truck is done ! And the people i spoke with on the extra hour labor did not want to hear or discuss the time / labor unfairness " this how much we Said and thats how much you are paying " !!! I called to get a estimate on a chip in my windshield. Their price was approximately $100 cheaper than their competitor! They told me I could bring it up that day and get it fixed without an appointment, but I was at work and unable to do so that day. I took my truck up there the next day without an appointment and had the chip repaired within 25 minutes! The waiting area is small but it does offer magazines to look at, a water cooler for something to drink and munchies for sale. The ladies at the front desk where very pleasant and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Henderson Glass for any repairs. read more

This is the second time, in a year and a half, of having to replace my front windshield. The first time was in the summer and a team member from Henderson Glass came out to replace my windshield. It was quick and easy. 4-6 months later, a rock hit my windshield and I got a small chip. It wasn't bad enough to replace so I kept driving with it. On Friday, it was 5* and that tiny crack decided to spider out from the middle all the way out to the left and right sides of the entire windshield - pretty much out of nowhere. :-X I immediately called Henderson Glass and they said with the cold weather, they couldn't do a house visit to repair. Freezing temps would not work to fix it outside. I understood. The Southfield location had the fastest availability. So I explained I had purchased a glass windshield from them just over a year ago (Sep 2016) and asked if there was a warranty. They said there is only a warranty if you pay for one. They have a 20/20 plan which covers any cracks or chips for 20 months or 20,000 miles. I had never gotten a chip or a crack in my windshield before so I didn't pay for it the first time. Had I, this incident would have been covered. I was a bit bothered by this as I don't necessarily think this is fair. This time, I did pay for the insurance ($25) because if something happens again, I'm going to start questioning the durable of the glass windshield they used. With that said, they were perfectly accommodating with my replacement and I don't have any issues with the staff or the service I received. I docked a star simply because I wish they had honored the windshield warranty without me having to pay for it to the start. read more

We ordered glass to replace our existing glass in our front door to add some privacy. We have a brand new house with a brand new front door. When they came to replace it, they took the door apart and told us they could not complete the job due to the mechanics of the door. As they put our door and glass back together they scratched all four glass panels from top to bottom. We now have to replace our front door. When we called to see if they would fix it or compensate us a bit towards our new door, they refused! They refuse to do anything about it and I am shocked that they wouldn't make things right. I will now be out $1200 at a minimum. read more

Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Tom the manager on the phone. It was just an awful experience. He was both condescending and rude to my wife and I. We had a simple request and he absolutely refused to help us with it. It is unfortunate because every other person I have worked with at Henderson Glass has been helpful and courteous. The biggest rip off shop for any kind of service in the Ann-arbor Ypsilanti area and I have been in the area for 49 years. I wanted a 8 x 10 window pane cut from a 12 x 12 piece of glass I had at home. I called and asked for the price. They would not tell me and asked to see the glass. Then I asked for the price of a new 8x10 pane. They could not tell me because the "technician" was not there. Basically they wanted me to come to the shop to get a quote. I went in. I told him what I wanted. He quoted me $20/cut. A minimum two cuts if I used an edge of the 12x12 pane would cost me $40. I thought he was kidding. He was dead serious. Just to see where he was going, I asked for the price of a new 8x10 pane from him. Instead of telling me before writing an order, He proceeded to enter all my personal information in the computer and then after a few minutes told me it would cost $30!!!!!! II was actually shaking with anger. These guys are worse that the Pharma companies. I then went to Lowe's and they gave me the two panes cut to size for $2.88 each. Henderson wanted more than 10 times what Lowe's charged. I recommend no one go there again ever even for insurance work. They are crooks of the first order! They need to be run out of town. read more

very poor experience at the Commerce Township location. Had the back window in my sport utility shatter, an insurance job. Called the local office but the national call center picked it up. I described my problem and all of the details required to fix it which included re-attaching the lift supports, one of which was broken and the other required connections like the defroster and latch assembly. The call center was happy to tell me they were the experts and can handle it all. When I picked up the vehicle only the defroster was connected. The window doesn't latch shut because "they don't do that". They taped the window down and told me I needed to go to a dealership to complete the job. This being an insurance job now I have a piece meal mess that I will have to figure out what parts are missing and re-open the claim. I wouldn't' go there unless you have a simple plain job because they are weak on creative solutions and customer satisfaction. read more

I went and had a rock chip in my windshield fixed on a Wednesday - the experience was great, Len was very nice and it only took about 20 minutes for them to finish the work. On Thursday, my windshield cracked to the left & right from that same chip. I called to see what could be done. They took $150 off of my deductible and replaced my windshield the following week. Though I never asked about the 20/20 warranty, which I see now in the booklet that covers the replacement cost of damage within 20 months or 20k miles; they did help with my deductible so I'm still happy. Overall, I had a great experience and I'm just glad my windshield is replaced and pretty again! Thanks guys! read more

Set up a appointment on 8/29/2019 for a windshield to be replace on friday 8/30/2019. appointment time was between 12pm to 4pm no one showed up between the hour. call henderson glass to see if someone was still coming out and theysaid that the tech was running late but he was still coming out so we waited until 5pm .no one showed up. call back to henderson now the office is close until tuesday.today is tuesday september 2/2019 spoke with someone from the novi office and they said that someone from the detroit office will give me a call today.this was at 9am this morning now its 12pm and no one has return my call yet.i guess i will take my business elsewhere read more

A few years ago Henderson installed some mirrors for my company, and everything was fine. Now we're moving and we set up an appt with Henderson to remove them and reinstall at new location. We had the appointment on the books for 3 weeks. Now, three days before the appointment WE called THEM with a question and they told us they don't have time to move our mirrors. They never notified us or called to cancel. We explained to them that if we don't get these mirrors moved before we have to vacate our suite in three days that we're going to be out $4000, and Henderson said too bad there was nothing they could do. This is a huge expense to a small business, all because Henderson Glass dropped the ball. They're probably fine for small jobs, but if your job is mission-critical you can not rely on Henderson. Bait and Switch Tactic. I needed 5 windows replaced. Over the phone they asked me for window measurements, after which they told me a rough estimate of $1800. The lady over the phone then said they would send someone over for $25 fee and provide an exact amount. Final Estimate was $3800. When I asked why is it so much more, I was told that the initial estimate did not include labor! Why would I want an estimate that does not include labor?! I have dealt with Henerson Glass, I believe this is the 4th time. I have never had a bad experience there, infact today was the best experience I have had from any business. The two gentlemen, Lance & Mike that came out to replace the glass were so friendly and accomodating, and went the extra mile to help me with another glass issue. They were friendly to my crazy Golden Retreiver, who was begging for attention. I also had a great experience with my car window a few years ago. Twice I tried to have my windshield replaced without success. The problem seems to be the women taking the calls and scheduling clearly don't have the right information to find the correct replacement or do their job properly. The first time the Livonia receptionist messed up on the date. After wasting a morning waiting, I tried to reschedule. I spoke with a man who was more focused on selling additional services than getting my windshield in. Second time I called this S'fld facility. Lots of confusion over the windshield and price. Several calls later they told me I had to get one that differed from original equipment, and by now I lost confidence in them. Will go to someone else. read more
