They still came back asking for my actual tax returns and whether my son lives with me full-time, which is illegal according to the Federal Fair Housing Act, specifically 42 U.S.C. § 3604 (Section 804 of the Fair Housing Act) and will be reported for CalDRE and HUD with proofs. This company is what wrong with the housing market and what will cause the next house crisis, they are bullies. I'm 37 years old. In almost 20 years of renting in LA, I've never been asked for tax returns -- not even when I bought a property. This is ridiculous. Extremely rude, invasive, and discriminatory. While it's possible the neighbors were doing light work, there was no disruption during her stay. Oak Park Apartments is rife with UNDERCOVER FBI agents (particularly on the third floor)…read more Goldrich + Kest the property management company enables them to conduct warrantless surveillance and searches of tenant's units. They've been permitted to install "spyfi" to monitor tenant's internet usage (while canceling legitimate Frontier appointments). I lived there for FIVE years and they threw me under the bus with relentless harassment and stalking at the hands of a new "assistant community manager" named Bart Thananta who is, in fact, FBI. He had no warrant and searched my unit after having me escorted off the property via a fraudulent 5150 hold on July 12th 2025. I've reported it to the local police and the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility, but the stalking and KGB tactics haven't stopped! To date I still maintain a clean criminal record. Goldrich + Kest also allowed them to place surveillance vehicles around the property including the entrance to the garage. Avoid this place if you value your privacy and don't want anyone spying on you with infrared cameras or listening devices hidden in the utility room next to your unit! Not to mention, the rent increases are aggressive and as other reviewers have complained...the faulty fire alarms are obnoxious (and problematic for the fire department).
