I am writing another review because now this clinic is not only trying to save face, but is lying to do so.
I already left my honest review about my experience with this clinic, which I'll include in the screenshots. I said exactly what happened. They were rude, dismissive, and yes, by the end of the interaction I raised my voice. I'm not denying that. I had called with a simple question about what I could expect to pay out of pocket for a basic urinary test, and somehow a simple question turned into one of the rudest and most frustrating interactions I've ever had with a healthcare office.
But what has me genuinely perplexed is their response to my Google review. Instead of just disagreeing with my review or explaining their side, they decided to accuse me of using anti-LGBT slurs during the phone call.
That did not happen. At all.
And that is such a serious and unnecessary thing to accuse somebody of just because you don't like the review they left about your business.
Both calls were recorded. So please, go listen to them. Tell me exactly where I used a slur. I know what I said on that phone call, and apparently there is a recording of it, so there shouldn't even be an argument about this.
I didn't even cuss anybody out on the phone. I said they were being rude. I got frustrated. I raised my voice. I will stand on all of that because that is what actually happened. What I will NOT accept is somebody adding slurs to the story because my review made their clinic look bad.
And as a Black woman, being accused of throwing slurs at somebody is especially wild to me. I know exactly what it feels like for a word to be used against an entire group of people. Why would I randomly start using slurs on a recorded phone call with a healthcare clinic? It makes absolutely no sense, and more importantly, it simply did not happen.
They also tried to characterize me as sitting there in "dead silence" and refusing to respond. What they conveniently left out is that their phone was cutting out. The FIRST person I spoke with literally asked me "Can you hear me?" multiple times because we were having trouble hearing each other. So yes, there were moments when I wasn't responding normally--I could barely hear what was being said.
That's what bothers me the most about this whole thing. I can handle a business disagreeing with my review. I can handle them saying they remember the interaction differently. But accusing me publicly of using slurs that I KNOW I did not use is completely different.
Never in my years have I had a healthcare office respond to my criticism by making accusations about me instead of simply addressing what I complained about in the first place. If you feel the need to defend your staff, defend them with what ACTUALLY happened. Don't add something as serious as slurs to the story to make the person who complained look like the problem.
My original review was about how rude and dismissive I felt the staff were. Their response to that review has only made my opinion of this clinic worse.
Again: the calls were recorded. Listen to them.
If I used an anti-LGBT slur, identify exactly where I said it. Otherwise, stop putting words in my mouth because you don't like what I said about my experience. read more
