Hendos has been a great addition to our dinner out picks. We have been here 3x in the last 2 weeks! Last night we had Charlie, she was so amazing for our graduation dinner - party of 15! She was attentive, helpful, kind, and the service was so fast for how many we had. The food as always was to die for. Some favs are the brussell sprouts, the truffle mac bites, their smash burger, pizzas, and brisket grilled cheese. This place is so cool. It's a restaurant/ brewery attached to the Dan Henderson gym. This whole place is a vibe. Good music, nice people and good food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to meet up friends, have parties and hang out. Multiple flat screens in every direction, lots of stimulation. This place was busy on a Thursday. It's took about 15 min to get service, but it was busy and Dan the manager, checked on us and went to get our server. Our server was sweet. The steak nachos and fox burger was delicious. I'm kind of 50/50 on our experience today. When we walked in, the hostess and the one who seated us were a bit less than friendly. We were asked if we wanted to sit on the patio and at first I said no because it was on the warmer side today and then I asked how long for a table indoors, the hostess replied about 30 minutes so we opted to sit on the patio. We walked outside and most of the tables had little to no shade, the ones that did have some shade the people sitting in them were crammed together so they weren't in the hot sun. I asked if we could sit out on the patio until a table inside opened up and was told no we would have to go back out to the front and wait. If you're going to have a patio area to dine, you DEFINITELY should have adequate shade. Then we sat there for 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted ice water, ummm hello it's freakin hot out here in the sun. Onto our meal. I ordered the truffle Mac and cheese bites as an appetizer and specifically requested them before our meal which our waitress acknowledged ok. They didn't come until our meal. They were pretty good but need to lay off the salt. Myself and son ordered the Fox burgers. Nice tasty and juicy burgers but they must've been running low on lettuce because mine had the white butt of the lettuce and my son's burger had no lettuce. My husband had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich and said it was good. We may give this place another try down the road but it will be awhile. PLEASE GET MORE SHADE ON YOUR PATIO! read more

Our family visited Hendo's Barrel House in Temecula on Sunday with a confirmed reservation for four adults and two children, and what followed was a textbook example of poor management and complete back-of-house failure. After ordering, we waited over an hour for food to arrive. When it finally did, the meals were brought out 20 minutes apart, completely defeating the purpose of dining together as a family. Children were left sitting and waiting while adults were served at different times. No apology can excuse that level of disorganization. I want to clearly state that our server was excellent--professional, apologetic, and clearly trying to manage a situation that was entirely out of their control. The real issue began when the manager, Abby, came to our table. She was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take accountability for what was happening. Rather than offering solutions or attempting to make the situation right, her attitude made it clear that our experience simply did not matter. There was no genuine apology, no effort to correct the problem, and no concern for the impact this had on our family's dining experience. Delays happen. Kitchens get behind. But poor leadership and disrespect toward paying customers is unacceptable. The way this situation was handled ensured that we will never return, regardless of how good the food might be. There are too many great restaurants in Temecula to tolerate this level of incompetence and unprofessional management. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. read more

I liked the vibe, the ambiance. Pretty cool spot. Food was decent but pretty sure it was made incorrectly. I let it slide cause it was still definitely edible. I think the bartenders and cooks need to be on the same page because nobody really knew anything. We came on opening day and had an excellent time. We expected a wait for opening day and service to be iffy. We hen we arrived they said there would be an hour and a half wait but then ended up seating up within 25 minutes. The servers were very friendly and greeted us right away. They provided recommendations. Our server ended up disappearing to have to work the bar and we got left behind for a bit but when we did order, our items came out quickly. The el hendo espresso martini was perfect. They got the beers mixed up a few times. The nachos were very different but tasty and unique. I had the bbq wings which were nothing to write home about. Decided to try the newest spot spot in town on a whim and hoped for the best since they just opened and it was prime dinner time. We were worried for nothing! Food - So good! We started with the kettle chip nachos. Yes kettle chips! Great start to the meal. Then we tried the fox burger and the short rib grilled cheese. Of the 2 we preferred the fox burger. Tasty and juicy meat, fresh crisp lettuce, bacon bbq jam, and truffle. The short rib grilled cheese came with an au jus which was really red wine forward. The fries were awesome. Served crisp and hot! Great ranch for dipping too. For dessert we got the basque cheese cake and the butter cake. The basque cheesecake was cute. It was a single serving vs being a slice of a big one. My hubby loves basque cheesecake and he said this one was good. I opted for the butter cake. So glad I did. It was served warm topped with toffee syrup AND cinnamon ice cream which was not listed on the menu. So yum!! The cake had a nice chew on top similar to the texture of a corner of a brownie in the best possible way. That cinnamon ice cream too! Such a great touch. Hospitality - Hostess was friendly and had a calm presence. It was a little busy but she didn't let that affect her hospitality. We were seated pretty promptly. Our server was great. She refilled our drinks without us having to ask her. She made some great food suggestions. Checked on us just enough without being overbearing. The Manager Chris even stopped at our table to thank us for stopping in. Very nice touch. I usually only see that happen on Top Chef Restaurant Wars LOL. We even got the chance to meet and talk to THE Dan Henderson aka Hendo!! Very cool that he made time to stop and talk to us. Ambiance - The vibe of the restaurant was very chill and could be casual or dressy. Good for hanging with the homoes or for a date night! Pretty big inside with high ceilings. The tables are sturdy and great quality. No wobbling here. The chairs were super comfy too. Feels like a refined modern gastropub. Lots of TVs. There is music playing which is just loud enough to muffle voices at the other tables. Like you can hear them but can't hear what they're talking about. Lots of outdoor seating too. We went back again this afternoon for their second day of the soft opening. My main reason for doing so was so that I could try the Mexican Lager on tap. It was great! It was light, refreshing, and not overly hoppy like some craft Mexican lagers tend to be. We loved checking out the vendors in the front and coming in to enjoy my favorite sandwich the short rib grill cheese. We had Amber as our waitress and she is by far the best server in California. This place is super unique and super cool, there's a full on gym on the first floor along with a couple bars and a whole seating area for the restaurant. And then if you go upstairs, there's a whole other lounge seating area to enjoy a little bit quieter experience but again covered with screens everywhere watching the fights watching the games. It's a total sports bar mix with a gym mixed with a lounge. It is a really cool concept. Perfect to watch the fights perfect to watch the games. The service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes in between drinks just to get a drink after ordering it. So that was definitely a bummer. The food was overall good completely overpriced for what it was but good. For example, we ordered the meatballs at $17. It only came with three that was over five dollars per meatball. They were not worth that at all like realistically so overpriced. But they were good but they weren't $17 good. In fact, all the food was overpriced, but good. Need to stay as a super fun bar experience to get appetizers to get food. It's a really cool experience. I'll definitely be back. I'll just be ordering different stuff. And probably two drinks at a time just because it's so slow getting them to you. read more
