After a full day of fishing at Diamond Valley Lake we stopped in Hendo's In Temecula on our way home to Escondido. As a deep fan of UFC since its inception, I was more than happy to support Dan's establishment. Saturday night at 630p so we made a reservation online. This was a great call and our table was ready upon arrival. Started off bad as we really had to search for a place to park. Lots of NO HENDO PARKING in the adjacent lots. We got in the lobby and realized why...there was a live MMA event going on in his gym which is adjacent to the restaurant. I guess on normal nights, things would have been different. Great waiter, very knowledgeable. I had the steak flatbread and a side Caesar salad, chased down with a 20oz HENDO Mexican lager. Noticed at the end of our meal that they actually do brew their own beer here! My lager was crisp and one of the better ones I've had. Great decor, employees, I can't wait to go back. I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to share our experience at Hendo's during their Super Bowl party. I genuinely love supporting small businesses, and we actually found out about the event through social media, which I appreciated. The positives: Plenty of parking, a great location, and the rustic/industrial décor is really well done -- very cool vibe. The food itself was good quality, and the hostess who checked us in and collected payment was kind and welcoming. Where there's room for improvement: The Super Bowl party itself felt very unorganized and could really benefit from having a dedicated party coordinator or host. For an "unlimited buffet," the food options were extremely limited -- all protein, no carbs, no salads, no vegetables, no desserts, and no snack-style food you'd normally expect at a Super Bowl event. Drinks were pricey, and the sound quality was honestly pretty rough. We even called around 2:30 pm and were told it was packed, yet when we arrived there was no one upstairs or out on the patio at all. Pricing is something I'd also reconsider. It was $48 per person plus tax, plus drinks, and gratuity was automatically added without being clearly communicated. For just two people, we spent around $300 total for roughly two hours, which felt steep for what was offered. Overall, I think Hendo's has a lot of potential -- the space, location, and food quality are there. With better organization, more buffet variety, clearer communication, and a little more attention to the event experience, future parties could be great. read more

We'd seen the construction going on for awhile and finally Hendos opened. Decided to give it a couple weeks before we stopped in and we did that this past weekend. Lively place, lots of TVs, plenty of people, indoor/outdoor seating and a full gym. Considering it was the weekend, there was a decent wait time, so we ordered some drinks and waited for our table to open. Service was good, and the food was very good. Shelly ordered the Bourbon Glazed Meatballs while I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich (with a side of kettle chips). Both meals were delicious, although a few more meatballs would have been nice. Our friends ordered the Steakhouse Nachos (huge portion) and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The drinks were also good, Jungle Jab and Mason Blonde hit the spot. I realize it's a grand opening. Logos, menus, staff looked absolutely incredible. I don't know who they did their branding but it looks like a 30 billion dollar Corporation, it was so good. Food was 7.8, they forgot my salad, waited 30 minutes before I canceled it. Burger was undercooked, which I don't care, still delicious. Drinks were PHENOMENAL tasting. Service from bartender with ponytail: 10/10. Service from everyone else: 5/10 Water scolded my finger, be careful (I told the staff). My burger and fries got cold waiting for the mustard I asked for, twice. Not enough bacon jam. Fries were good but seemed undercooked and needed a double fry to be the best ones ever. Super dope overall cant wait to go back, maybe even tonight at 9:00 for the live music. Go and enjoy yourself. Definitely my newest favorite restaurant in town! Ate here last about six or more months ago after they first opened and was not very impressed...but my oh my how they have absolutely improved! Talking not only their menu choices, but also the quality and flavor of their food! Greeted at the door by the hostess who was so welcoming and chatted as she sat us to our table in the main dining room. First thing to make us feel right at home was the comfy chairs at the table, almost like pulling up a chair at Grans house, setting the expectations high. Started the meal with a Hendo's West Coast IPA and a Pear Pressure (delish by the way) and an appetizer of Truffle Mac n' Cheese bites. They were nicely portioned (not like a big old Mac n' Cheese ball but rather tot size aka bite size). They were dusted with a truffle powder and served with a nice truffle aioli for dipping. Excellent. Split a Fox Burger (fricken delicious), that had a delicious bourbon bbq glaze on premium ground chuck. A perfect juicy burger with Gouda cheese, onion straws and soft bun. Definitely will be back for the burger! Also ordered some Bourbon BBQ Wings which were also excellent! The sauce is so finger licking good! They're also served with choice of Ranch or Blue Cheese. Whether it's brunch, lunch, dinner, or a group event Hendos Barrel House is your spot! What an incredible venue. So many tables inside and out. If you can get the fire pit you might as well spend an entire Saturday watching college football here. To be honest when I went it was early and quiet but Julie my server and was incredibly attentive and had great input on the menu. Ordered the short rib hash. Presentation was perfect. I like that they don't add any sauce but I recommend the bourbon bbq sauce to add a little extra spice to the dish. The Calisqueeze Beermosa was delicious and the perfect complement to my short rib hash, eggs, and potato brunch. The Temecula/Murrieta Valley needs to support this local spot and blow it up. read more

My wife and I are late to the table with Hendos. Pun intended! Sure glad we tried it. We are a sitting at the bar kinda couple and Hendo's has a good one. To start, the food is very good. The drinks are too. The stand outs are the people, we have met a lot of people there and we hope to see them again. But what keeps us coming back are the staff. They are amazing. Here are a few, we just met Andrew, he can make the kinds of drinks that I didn't know were possible, amazing mixologist and just a good person. What has kept us coming back is Jess. When we think about going out for a drink, we think Jess! She is right away easy with smile, makes you feel she has waiting to see you. Decided to stop in for the new Saturday brunch. This was our first experience here so we came in with an open mind and hungry bellies. The staff is the reason for the 4 stars, food wise I'd give this 3 stars. We were greeted upon entering, inside was clean. Restrooms were slightly messy but I think that may be due to the flush style. The rest of the dining area was well spread out and open. The decor inside is cool, all the UFC pictures and belts were interesting to look at. We were a party of 2 seated at a high top along the wall. Our server, Amber was delightful, very helpful and efficient. For a brunch I was disappointed that they did not have some kind of coffee or mimosa flight or even some kind of Bloody Mary special. Amber did say they just got in an espresso machine from Italy but it's not up and ready yet. We ordered the Short Rib Hash and Eggs Benedict. The kitchen was pretty slow, but we were not in a rush and understand a new service has its kinks to be worked out. A server came over apologized for the delay and explained the situation, which again, was not a big deal because we were not in a rush. The Short Rib Hash looked nice but it lacked flavor. The meat was tender but just tasted like unseasoned roasted meat. The portion size was more than enough. Has potential though. The pickled onions had a nice spice to them as well. The eggs for the Eggs Benedict were cooked nicely and I loved the tiny chives on top. Unfortunately, I did not see or taste any spinach. The English muffin was only grilled on 1 side so the other side was very soggy. I should have asked for both sides to be grilled. This dish also came with salad that had a nice light citrus or vinegar coating. It also came with tasty grilled smashed potatoes with salt, parm and herbs. The dinner and drink menu looked interesting we may come back to try the dinner service. For our taste this brunch was just ok, we more than likely would not add this place to our brunch spot list. read more

I was excited about dining here, as a fan of Hendo's fighting career. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our server, Ashley, started off well, then declined after taking our order. She never once checked on us until we were completely finished eating. No refills or making sure we were happy with our items. At the end, I asked for more water. She didn't offer more lemonade(cheap fountain drink). She said, "I'll grab you more water." How absurd that sounds. She wasn't even the person who refilled my water. We were seated promptly, and the drinks arrived quickly, but it went quickly downhill from there. The food took forever, and when it did arrive, they forgot my mom's dish; it subsequently came out well after everyone else's. Meanwhile, my husband's burger was overcooked, and the sweet potato fries were cold and inedible. My smash burger and my dad's porkchop were mid at best and certainly not worth the price. The server wasn't checking in on us, and we had to flag someone else down for a second round of drinks. When our server finally checked back in, they asked how the food was, and we shared the concerns above. They completely disregarded everything, and said "I'm glad you enjoyed it." Let me make it clear that we did NOT enjoy the food. We definitely overpaid for the mediocre food and slow, insincere service. We gave Hendo's Barrel House a try this evening, and we're so glad we did! When we arrived, there was about an hour wait for walk-ins, so we opted to sit at the bar--and it turned out to be a great choice. The bartender provided full service and was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the "Take Down" cocktail, and it was delicious! My husband had their IPA and really enjoyed it as well. For food, we shared the burnt pork belly ends, Brussels sprouts, French onion soup, and the Fox burger. Every single dish was incredible. We also found the prices to be very reasonable. Just a heads up: it gets busy! If you're not planning to sit at the bar, it's worth making a reservation. The bar filled up quickly, and there was a line out the door not long after we sat down.
