We went to Hendos on a Sunday afternoon. For say pretty quickly! The restaurant was pretty lively. Lots of TVs and a couple of bars. The upstairs was open and people were like dancing which I thought was cool. My husband and got the ribeye and we both enjoyed it very much! Great seasoning and cook. The ribeye is thinner than what I am used to but no complaints here. The fries were just okay but I think the truffle fries would be a better choice for this type of french fry. We got a side salad that was actually quite shareable. The veggies were also seasoned and cooked well. Great food! This place is crazy cool. It's a huge sports bar that has actual boxing matches. The atmosphere is great but the food and service is lacking and very pricey for what you get. They gave us empty glasses on our table. After about 10 minutes we had to go retrieve our own water pitchers and pour our own water. Most of us didn't eat all our food and we had a party of 11. Meh, these type of places are popping up all over the place. You know sleek black counters and tables, glass and reclaimed wood everywhere and plenty of Giant TVs. A perch for Merch is just inside the door and the main room is rather sparse with plenty of room for more tables. Arriving on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I found the place tepid with nary a welcome from the hosts, were there any? maybe not. We chose some spots at the bar, overcrowded with a motorcycle club on one end we sat at one end in close quarters to others. The 2 female bartenders seemed stand- of-ish and neither knew if there was or wasn't a drink special. No recommendations on the beers and that's odd for a brewery with 3 bartenders that weren't busy. The third was a tall young man who was kind, chatty and knew his basketball. He remained busy stocking the bar our entire 30 minute stay. Beers are on the high end but I was still surprised to get a check before the beer. My buddy may have or might not have liked his house beer, Unremarkable either way was my impression, then my Modello was served in a broken glass. The next day a neighbor told me all about Hendo and what a good guy he was and how he had trained his boys a few decades ago. Used to box at the gym, this is the first time visiting the Barrel House. Was seated immediately, took our drink orders, ordered lunch. Laura was our server and she was perfect. Answering questions and helped direct us through the menu. Our food came (pictured) my fiancé ordered the Ahi tuna salad, it was plentiful and quite good. She was extremely satisfied and raved about it. I ordered the 14oz Rib Eye! It was a center cut and was very tender. I highly recommend it, and I ordered the mac n cheese as my side because it was made in house. Perfectly done and very cheesy. ( I dipped my last 3 pieces of steak in the cheese sauce, because I am that white trash lol) Our drinks were iced tea and strawberry lemonade. As we were seated, we saw lots of big screen TVs to enjoy from any of the tables. A very nice bar area as well. The decor is predominantly Hendo's boxing theme. The shiny belts are very impressive. We ended up ordering the 14 oz ribeyes. It comes with two sides. The steaks were tasty. The steaks came with roasted garlic and that was great with the potatoes. The salad was very refreshing. Overall great experience for my first time at Hendo's. It's located right next to Dan Henderson's fitness gym. It's a nice place that looks like a brewery/distillery. I got here right before happy hour so waited a bit to order. Laura was my server and she was great! Very attentive and super friendly. I started off with a cocktail (pear pressure), which was not off the happy hour menu but very delicious and well worth the full price. I then ordered the smash burger with some steak fries on the side. It was more than enough food. The burger was really good. Tender and juicy. The fries had white type of nacho cheese. It was soooo good! I decided to get 2 flatbreads so I can take them to go. Margherita and pepperoni were more like pizza than flatbreads. Very tasty!!! I brought them home and family put on air fryer. They were stop as good as they were fresh. This is definitely a good place to dine and have some drinks. I will be stopping by here again! Totally memorable in a negative way! Grabbed two stools at the bar for the personal bartender experience and ordered the Shrimp N Grits, Steakhouse Nachos, Bar B Que Wings, and two beverages. Terra is a great bartender and ensured our beverages were perfect! Assisted me with my brew selection, and her mixology skills shined with the Pear Pressure cocktail. When the food arrived the Shrimp N Grits was somewhat cold and I requested it be warmed. It was quite delicious. The BBQ'd wings were cold, consisted mostly of legs, were raw, and appeared to have been microwaved only with sauce poured over them. No char or browning, and the meat was stuck to the bones! When the Steakhouse Nachos arrived, it was ice cold and we were shocked at what it was. Beef Stroganoff with a little meat, lots of mushrooms, poured over kettle cooked potato chips? After a full day of fishing at Diamond Valley Lake we stopped in Hendo's In Temecula on our way home to Escondido. As a deep fan of UFC since its inception, I was more than happy to support Dan's establishment. Saturday night at 630p so we made a reservation online. This was a great call and our table was ready upon arrival. Started off bad as we really had to search for a place to park. Lots of NO HENDO PARKING in the adjacent lots. We got in the lobby and realized why...there was a live MMA event going on in his gym which is adjacent to the restaurant. I guess on normal nights, things would have been different. Great waiter, very knowledgeable. I had the steak flatbread and a side Caesar salad, chased down with a 20oz HENDO Mexican lager. Noticed at the end of our meal that they actually do brew their own beer here! My lager was crisp and one of the better ones I've had. Great decor, employees, I can't wait to go back. Cool place! Trying it out since we saw it listed on the InKind app. Lots and lots of seating, its huge inside and has a great outside patio area. So many TVs, which is a nice plus. The actual gym is connected to the restaurant. Hostess was so nice and greeted us right away. Weren't too many people there, I think because lunch didn't start until 1:30 pm on Saturday, we were surprised to hear that. Our server was also very good, she explained the menu to us, they had limited lunch items, in addition to the brunch/breakfast items. We got the wings, a burger and a breakfast plate, as well as prosecco. The wings were really good, but you only get a 6 piece, which makes the cost around $3 per wing. The breakfast was good also, but pricey for a basic plate of eggs, hashbrowns, 2 sausages and toast ($17). Burger my man had was good, a bit on the smaller side but he liked it. So, we would def come back with another deal/coupon of some sort but not without. They had fight night going on, maybe have to try that one day. read more

I stopped in last night Monday 1/26/26. It was happy hour so I ordered a drink an appetizer and a burger. The drink and the fries were so good. The smash burger was not my favorite. My friend ordered Nashville hot chicken wings which were amazing and the Cajun shrimp, that was super good too. When I come back I definitely want to try the crab cakes. I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to share our experience at Hendo's during their Super Bowl party. I genuinely love supporting small businesses, and we actually found out about the event through social media, which I appreciated. The positives: Plenty of parking, a great location, and the rustic/industrial décor is really well done -- very cool vibe. The food itself was good quality, and the hostess who checked us in and collected payment was kind and welcoming. Where there's room for improvement: The Super Bowl party itself felt very unorganized and could really benefit from having a dedicated party coordinator or host. For an "unlimited buffet," the food options were extremely limited -- all protein, no carbs, no salads, no vegetables, no desserts, and no snack-style food you'd normally expect at a Super Bowl event. Drinks were pricey, and the sound quality was honestly pretty rough. We even called around 2:30 pm and were told it was packed, yet when we arrived there was no one upstairs or out on the patio at all. Pricing is something I'd also reconsider. It was $48 per person plus tax, plus drinks, and gratuity was automatically added without being clearly communicated. For just two people, we spent around $300 total for roughly two hours, which felt steep for what was offered. Overall, I think Hendo's has a lot of potential -- the space, location, and food quality are there. With better organization, more buffet variety, clearer communication, and a little more attention to the event experience, future parties could be great. read more

Let me start off by saying this place is a hidden gem. From the outside, you wouldn't expect it to be so huge! We found this gem on yelp. It was so tender and the cheese just made it that much more delicious, paired with the au jus which gave it that salt that brought it all together. Def a must try! Hubby got the shrimp and grits and said that was amazing. The portion for him was huge! He took half of it home. Our daughter had the Mac and cheese bites with fries which she enjoyed but even for the kids, portions are huge so definitely getting a bang for your buck! Desserts we tried the creme brûlée and butter cake. Creme brûlée was like a donut and crunchy on the outside. Very tasty and hubby enjoyed. The butter cake tasted so good just by itself! It came topped with a cinnamon ice cream which to me tasted like a churro, wasn't bad but I would see if I can do plain vanilla next time since I'm not a big churro fan like hubby. Lively place, lots of TVs, plenty of people, indoor/outdoor seating and a full gym. Considering it was the weekend, there was a decent wait time, so we ordered some drinks and waited for our table to open. Service was good, and the food was very good. Shelly ordered the Bourbon Glazed Meatballs while I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich (with a side of kettle chips). Both meals were delicious, although a few more meatballs would have been nice. Our friends ordered the Steakhouse Nachos (huge portion) and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The drinks were also good, Jungle Jab and Mason Blonde hit the spot. Service from bartender with ponytail: 10/10. Service from everyone else: 5/10 Water scolded my finger, be careful (I told the staff). My parents live in the area and suggested trying this spot. It isn't something I would have picked, but we gave it shot. We were seated promptly, and the drinks arrived quickly, but it went quickly downhill from there. The food took forever, and when it did arrive, they forgot my mom's dish; it subsequently came out well after everyone else's. Meanwhile, my husband's burger was overcooked, and the sweet potato fries were cold and inedible. My smash burger and my dad's porkchop were mid at best and certainly not worth the price. The server wasn't checking in on us, and we had to flag someone else down for a second round of drinks. When our server finally checked back in, they asked how the food was, and we shared the concerns above. They completely disregarded everything, and said "I'm glad you enjoyed it." Let me make it clear that we did NOT enjoy the food. We definitely overpaid for the mediocre food and slow, insincere service. The decor is modern rustic and the American Flag is also in view no matter your seat, another plus in my book! Our waitress was quick to greet us and was also quite welcoming. Started the meal with a Hendo's West Coast IPA and a Pear Pressure (delish by the way) and an appetizer of Truffle Mac n' Cheese bites. They were nicely portioned (not like a big old Mac n' Cheese ball but rather tot size aka bite size). They were dusted with a truffle powder and served with a nice truffle aioli for dipping. Excellent. Split a Fox Burger (fricken delicious), that had a delicious bourbon bbq glaze on premium ground chuck. A perfect juicy burger with Gouda cheese, onion straws and soft bun. If you can get the fire pit you might as well spend an entire Saturday watching college football here. To be honest when I went it was early and quiet but Julie my server and was incredibly attentive and had great input on the menu. Ordered the short rib hash. Presentation was perfect. I like that they don't add any sauce but I recommend the bourbon bbq sauce to add a little extra spice to the dish.
