My passenger window appeared to have damage, and there was also a paint-like substance on the panel next to the window that I couldn't remove. I initially thought I would need to replace both the window and the panel. However, when I went in for an estimate, Garrett quickly stepped in to assist. Instead of requiring body work, he was able to safely remove the defects using a compound and adhesive remover. His knowledge and ability to quickly evaluate my vehicle were impressive. Whatever u do , don't bring your car here after an accident. poor communication- I have to call them "daily" and I can't even reach the front office personnel. When they transfer you to the advisor , you are basically sent to their mailbox and you won't receive an update. it's been a full week and I have not been contacted or provided any update from that team besides when I called and was told the file was with the advisor. my insurance adjuster has even mentioned how unusual this situation is. I will be towing my car to another company in the meantime so my insurance can proceed with a rental for me. We took our car here because the vehicle hood is aluminum and most body shops don't work on that. Our car was fixed quickly, and the job was well done. But communication was very poor. Received an original estimate of $5,290.56 for an apparently minor damage caused by a deer hitting the side of the car. Final bill: $12,243.13, with no advanced notice. Insurance paid a part, my bill was $7,539.85. The insurance estimator, with a lot of experience, stated that he has never seen such an outrageous bill - over 100 hours of labor. Shop estimator said that it is because the car has aluminum parts... but the car had aluminum parts during the original estimate as well, didn't change during the repair... Never going back there, and will complain to BMW as well, since the only reason I went there was the "BMW certified" badge. read more

I know that there are some positive reviews for Hendrick and I'm sure everything went smoothly for those people. All I can say is that the measure of a company is not how they act when everything goes well but how they act when things do not go well. I had an early morning flight out of town on a Monday so Hendrick told me I could drop my car off in their parking lot on Sunday. When I arrived, the parking lot was blocked off with a barrier. This left me completely in a bind. I ended up dropping my car off at my mom's house and she had to deal with them. When she called the next day to explain what happened, they gave her a snippy, "Well I don't know who told you that." My mom had a neighbor lined up to help her get the car over to Hendrick but the lady on the phone said they could send someone out to get it. My mom specifically asked if there would be any charge for that because she would not have agreed to it if there was. The answer was 'no', so my mom agreed. They sent a tow truck. When the work was finally done on the car and I went to get it, there was a $185 charge for towing. I argued about this and, after supposedly talking to whoever my mom talked to, they just said, "well it's he-said, she-said" and refused to honor what they told my mom. And, of course, they hold your car hostage so it's either pay up whatever they demand or start a who knows how long legal process to get your car. They screwed up in the first place forcing me to burden my mom, and then lied to her and scammed her. In the grand scheme of things, the amount of money was not huge, but why would you trust anyone like that with your car? All I can say is if you do take your car here, write down every name of every person you talk to and record every conversation. read more

CHECK YOUR REPAIRS If I could give a lower rating, I would. I've given them so many opportunities to redeem themselves before posting this review. I had my 2021 Subaru Outback brought in April 12, "fixed" on April 28, still waiting in June on their response to their bad repairs on my car. 1. POOR UPDATES ON CAR REPAIRS. The person in charge of my repairs told me that my car would be finished on April 22. That was around a week and half of repair time, which I was fine with. I didn't go pick up my car yet because I had a prior appointment that took most of the day, but I still would have been able to pick up my car in the evening. But during the afternoon, my insurance texts me that my car rental was extend to April 25 because more time was needed for repairs. Luckily I didn't waste a trip to the shop to not get my car. April 25 comes around and I planned to go to the shop in the evening again, but low and behold, I get another text that the rental is extended to April 27. April 27 rolls around, and I call the shop to see if my car will finally be ready. After the person not returning all my calls, he finally answers and tells me that no, my car will not be ready on April 27, but it will be ready on April 28. I had already planned out my work to be able to pick up my car on the 27th, but they kept changing the dates on when my car would be ready. Due to work, I could not pick up my car on the ready date because they kept changing the date and did not update me. The person in charge said that they are always in communication with my insurance and rental about the repair date. Well, that was a lie because I had to tell my own insurance company about the new date so they would extend my car rental. 2. POOR COMMUNICATION. This goes hand in hand with number 1. I have probably emailed and called the person in charge of my car repairs 5+ times. 90% of the time, he did not respond to my emails and did not return my voice mails. After my car was "fixed", I still had issues with the repair, and he was still unavailable for updates regarding my problems. He "seems" like he would be a great person with promises of getting back to you and fixing your issues, but nothing more than a liar when he never calls back or responds to emails. 3. BAD REPAIRS, MANY MISSED DETAILS IN REPAIRS. I am SO glad that I brought my brother along with me to inspect my car repair. If I had not, I would have been driving off with a SHODDY repair job. For a place that is supposed to be SUBARU CERTIFIED, they did not do a great job. There were many missing clips under the hood, so parts would be flapping around. There was a piece of foam sticking out from my passenger mirror. There was screws missing from the splash guard they installed. Even when I came home, my brother noticed another missing clip (pictured below) and a missing door trim (pictured door with trim and door without below). So I called them back and he said to come back when he came back and would get it fixed. I come back and he puts the clip on, but he needs to talk to his manager about the trim because it is a Subaru part (which I paid for when I got the car). I also noticed that they missed putting paint on part of the accident (pictured below). I've called twice to ask about these repairs, and each time he has said he needs to call his manager about the trim and that he will call me back tomorrow. I took my BMW X7 for a minor repair headlight repair and scratches on the right side bumper. I specifically told the person (Ms. Cindy) that before the repair, to make sure that my insurance would cover any necessary cost. It took two months for minor repairs for my vehicles. Instead of me paying only a $250 deductible, they came out with an extra $1500 cost on top. The person I was talking to was obscene and unprofessional over the phone. If this is how they deal with customers and military veterans, they shouldn't be in the business. read more

This collision center is a "preferred shop" for many insurance companies and was the only place that could get me in in a timely manner so I went with it. After being called "hypersensitive" and returning the vehicle multiple times for a hatchback that was incorrectly installed I was blamed for the damage instead of fixing the problem. I literally would drive up a small hill and the door would become unlatched and my lights would come on because the door was opening. Had to demand to take it to another shop where they were mortified that Hendricks couldn't even tighten bolts properly. That was the issue, they didn't have the knowledge to install a hatchback properly and instead of admitting that they gave me piles of bullshit and an unsafe car. NICK WAS THE WORST. It all started on New Year's eve - a hit and run! My bride hit a deer that jumped out in front of her at 55mph and it ran... I never thought a 100lb +/- deer could cause almost $8K in damage, but it did (and thankfully, the insurance company covered all of it). Not so sure the deer fared so well but that's a different story. My insurance company steered me to Hendrick Collision. They made the damaged parts of the car look brand new again. They delivered it ahead of schedule as well. One small snafu when we tried to use the AC in warmer weather about a month after getting the car back, but they fixed that in about 1/2 hour when I brought it back for them to check, no fuss and no muss. I recently had a fender bender and was rear ended by a young guy with no insurance. I made an agreement with his dad to get estimates at a few places and this was one of them. Making the appointment to get the car checked out was easy. I checked in with the ladies at the front desk and soon after, my estimator, Thomas came out to check the damage. He gave a quick, yet thorough examination and had my drafted quote ready in under 20 minutes. I needed to make a modification to the quote and he had the change ready shortly after. His promptness made this an easy choice. I set up the appointment, dropped off the car and it was ready in the time frame I was originally given. After being involved in a multi-car automobile accident in the late fall of 2021, I chose Hendrick Collision Center Durham to repair my damaged 2016 BMW X5M SUV. I was very impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism shown me by Mr. Trey Hensley, the Collision Center Specialist that was my point-of-contact at Hendrick Collision Center Durham. He was very responsive to my many questions and he and the staff at Hendrick Collision Ctr. Durham quickly emailed to me all of the necessary forms for my review and inputting my information and authorization for them to begin their work. Trey H. sent me a very detailed, itemized estimate of the cost of the work and was able to quickly place orders for all of the BMW OEM replacement parts necessary to repair my vehicle. He worked closely and coordinated with my State Farm automobile insurance company who paid for this work, minus my deductible. Due to the global, national and regional supply chain issues affecting many parts, it was unfortunate that we all had to essentially wait approximately 3 1/2 months for all of the ordered parts to be delivered to Hendrick Collision. But once they had been received, the work progress went smoothly. The vehicle's repair work was essentially completed when I arrived at our agreed upon date. What makes me most appreciative and grateful to Trey Hensley and Hendrick Collision Center Durham is what happened very soon after I had taken possession of my vehicle. While driving it directly to the local BMW Dealership for a pre-arranged appointment for a full vehicle servicing, my vehicle's rear air suspension failed. Apparently, it was damaged in the accident last fall, but was not visible or noticeable during the final test drive before they gave the vehicle back to me. Thankfully, the BMW of Southpoint Dealership was able to locate, order and install the necessary replacement rear suspension parts. To the credit of Trey Hensley and Hendrick Collision Center Durham, they immediately agreed to pay for all of the parts and labor costs for that specific repair, adding it as a supplemental charge to my insurance company, since it was accident-related. Recently I had gotten rear ended. Not a huge accident, car was still drivable but completely at the fault of the other driver. Thus began the whole ordeal with insurance companies, car repair shops and car rental. On top of that, Thanksgiving was around the corner so there was the added stresses of that to pile on. For starters the others drivers insurance company was top notch, USAA. When my renewals come up next year I'm going to take a serious look at them for they treated me with the utmost professionalism. Not to say that my insurance company is a slouch, Amica, for they have always been there for me too, but I opted to go through the drivers insurance for this. USAA as you can imagine gave me their top three auto body shops and this particular Hendrick was one of them. I work with some people that are more experienced in this area than me so without telling them who the insurance company gave me I asked them as well who would they recommend and lo and behold Hendrick was also on their list. Fwiw, I purchased my car (2012 Dodge Charger) from a Hendrick dealership but I have no other affiliation with them other than being a customer. So now onto reviews. Oh boy, what a pendulum of varying reviews. Either they are the devils workshop and they eat dogs for lunch or they are saints who save puppies from kill shelters. I kid of course but you know what I mean, just goes all over the place. I'm going to have to go with the puppies on this one. What a wonderful experience. From beginning to end they were professional and kept me informed the entire way even though it was "insurance job" where they weren't getting a dime from me. I got a daily text with the status and as as the completion date got closer they let me know when the pickup date would be and they were spot on. They follow up up with a phone call to arrange my arrival and upon arrival they went over everything that was done and more so. Kudos to Scotty who is a well experienced professional and the entire staff who care about doing the repair right as if it was their own car. Another plus of this location is that there is an Enterprise car rental right inside their facility, mighty convenient I would say. Sadly the only car that was equivalent with my Charger at the time was a tiny four door Nissan which was weird to say the least, but none of that has to do with Hendrick. read more

I worked with Scott - he did a great job of keeping me informed on the status of the vehicle repairs, and repairs were completed a few days earlier than expected due to their timeliness and organization in ordering the vehicle's parts. The repairs are complete, and the vehicle looks better than ever. When I picked up the car, it had been washed and vacuumed - another plus! Their team is extremely accommodating and friendly and willing to help with any issues that arise. The shop is in a very convenient location for folks in the West Raleigh/RTP/east Durham area, and rental cars are onsite, which is another plus. Was surprised that they didn't have all 5 star reviews. These guys are great, dropped car off on Monday and it was done by Tuesday - 2 days sooner than promised. Repairs were excellent and we had been hauling lots of building materials and three dogs around in car, and I hadn't cleaned it for months - got it back showroom clean. My daughter commented we should have a crash every now and then just to get the car detailed. read more

On drop off I was supposed to have a rental provided. Instead I was told they were out of rentals and that I would need to wait 20+ minutes for Enterprise to deliver a rental. On pickup I was told that they couldn't release my car unless I had the original paperwork from Nationwide. I hadn't been told this in advance and didn't have time to go get it so I had to wait about 20 minutes while they sorted it out with Nationwide. There was also a new scratch (not there before drop off) near the work area. The new bumper is almost the same color as the rest of the car. I did give this same feedback on their satisfaction survey but still haven't heard anything from them in about 2 weeks. Apparently they don't care about the survey feedback. read more

My advice is if you don't have an insurance company paying, don't walk...RUN away as fast as possible. The impression I was giving was that this operation seems structured to charge max prices with markups on parts to bilk insurance for max profit which is okay (I guess) as long as you're not a regular person doing something you will pay for yourself. I bought a replacement door handle to replace the broken door handle on my 98 Toyota Camry...that's right...just the door handle. Originally I was going through Amazon to have the replacement done but their closest mechanic was in Siler City...too far to justify the drive, so I contacted Hendrick to get an estimate since they are just around the corner from me. I called five different collision places and this is the ONLY one that tried to put me through an insurance process for a 30 to 60 min job and, only after I questioned it, this was the ONLY place that then said they would not do the work since they didn't order the parts themselves - "we don't operate that way", "too many hands in the pot" (I translate as meaning they can't charge a markup for the parts) - Really? For a door handle?? I would have completely understood if this were some critical operational piece of the car, or if there were some warranty (other than "it works" when they install), or even if they just said "it's too small a job"; I can understand any of that, but the convoluted senseless hot air story I was given didn't even begin to pass the smell test. Never will I do business with Hendrick again; to buy a car, have it repaired (insurance claim or not), or anything after this experience. If these are the ethics Hendrick approaches their operations and customer service then I want no part of them...ever. No telling whatever, other off-the-wall machinations they have going on. What a joke. Interesting that ALL the other companies were able to quote me the cost of replacing the door handle with me providing the parts I already bought with no concern or hesitation at all. smh read more

My insurance company recommended this place, but I absolutely do not. Nothing was completed right the first time or on time. It took them almost a week longer than they originally quoted. Which was ok until I picked up my car and discovered they didn't replace a piece of trim that had been broken. They had to order the part, so I drove my car while I was waiting for the part to arrive. That's when I noticed that my headlights weren't aligned (which happened in the accident and I specifically asked them to fix). So, trip #2 to get headlights aligned. Then trip #3 to get trim replaced, which they said was a 30-minute job yet took them 2 hours. A day later, I noticed something was rubbing on my front wheel (same wheel where trim was replaced) -- the lining of the wheel well is all torn and falling off (it wasn't prior to my visits to this place). So, 3 trips and my car still isn't fixed properly. Avoid this place if you can. read more

Have a deep scratch in the drivers door of my suburban that I want repaired. Took a day off work to get some errands done. Went to my insurance who said get the work done then we will submit the claim depending on how much the estimate is. Went to Hendricks to get an estimate. No go. Was told they had to have the insurance claim first. Said I may pay for it myself. Lady got snotty and didn't believe that I may pay for it myself then rudely said they would still need something from insurance if I decided to file it. Said I needed an appointment to get an estimate. I guess they were too busy to give me one what with no less than 5 employees changing around talking. How long can it possibly take to look at a door scratch and give me an estimate. Why does everything with Hendricks have to be done by an appointment. And wasted one of my days off to get attitude from an employee. What ever happened to customer service. Needless to say I will go out of my way to discourage anyone from using them. read more

I was really excited to see that my Geico adjuster was present at Rick Hendrick along with the rental car place so that I could easily get my truck repaired from where someone ran into it. They suggested that it would take about a week to get it fixed. It ended up going almost two weeks. When I went to pick it up the first time the paint was very splotchy and they obviously had not cover the inside of my truck and when they were sending and it was filled with dust. They assured me they would clean it in a couple of minutes later brought it back, they had white to the dash off with a rag undoubtedly. I ended up bringing it back and they kept it for almost another week. Once again it was dirty on the inside when I got it back. The truck is still not perfect but I got tired of messing with them. I would not recommend this repair shop even though it is convenient to have the rental car and the insurance adjuster under the same roof. read more

My initial opinion of the collision center wasn't warm and fuzzy. I asked an employee where to go for the collision center office and he pointed to a door and said right there. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there and could care less. I went into the Parts department and the man behind the computer was kind enough to show me the entrance door to the collision office. That's where Sara and Amy come in. Totally professional and friendly, changed my entire attitude of the center. Excellent customer service and made me feel like my business mattered. I gave 4 stars to begin with and will give the 5th star after my work is done. Thomas is the man I spoke with and he also sincerely wanted to accommodate me. Whomever the guy was walking around the lot needs to be retrained or maybe he'd just been let go. read more

I would not recommend Rick Hendrick Collision Center. In late 2015 my beloved civic was hit by another car, causing almost $4,000 worth of damage. A coworker recommended Rick Hendrick, a shop that was also recommended by my insurance company. My initial opinion of the place was neutral. They were polite enough. They seemed very experienced. They conveniently have a rental car place (Enterprise) in the same building. Then came the issues. First, they took several days longer than anticipated to complete the work. No huge deal. The insurance company covered my rental and RH kept in touch regarding the estimated date of completion as it changed. When I received my car back, I looked it over and it seemed fine. However, after a while I noticed that little spots of what looked like rust appeared on the area they had just painted. Also, I realized that something was rattling in the back corner of the car where the repairs were. I initially thought it was my daughter's car seat buckle rattling on something, but I took the seat out and the rattling was still there. I tried to call the company to get them to fix these things, but they kept transferring me to the man who was in charge of my repairs and I kept getting his voicemail, with no return call. At that point, I got an emailed survey from RH for feedback on the repairs, so I let them know my grievances on the survey. Within a day I got a call back. Now they wanted to make things right. When I took my car in for them to fix the issues, I went at around 4:30 or 5 (as we had decided over the phone). I waited for over an hour until closing time. Within that time, I did not know what was happening. I didn't know the guy was just going to look at the car or actually fix it right then and there. I inquired a few times and NO ONE knew where the guy who was looking at my car was, nor did they know where my car was. Around 6 pm (closing time) he came back with my car. He was very nice and polite and said that everything was fixed. He even went over everything he had done with me. The paint looked good at that point (it was something that just needed to be buffed off) and he said that the door was what had been rattling (which didn't sound right to me... the rattle sounds more like it was coming from the back window area, but what do I know?) and that all was fixed. On the ride home.... the rattle was back. I called the shop a few more times. No return phone call. At this point, the initial repairs were made about a year ago. I have been meaning to come here write this for a while because I really can't recommend this place based on my experience. I think others should know that. read more
