Nothing fancy, just generous and genuinely appreciated. Between that and seeing all the events at The Hut (bands, brunch, paint & sip, Super Bowl parties), I fully planned on coming back. Unfortunately, this return visit changed my mind. I ordered the turkey Reuben with onion rings. The onion rings were cooked so hard they lost all flavor, and the turkey was smoked but extremely dry. To make matters worse, there was a small piece of blue plastic or bristle in the sandwich. Service was polite, but uncomfortable at times. The older man -- who I believe may be the owner -- lingered very close, seemed shaky, and poured drinks far stronger than intended. I usually appreciate a generous pour, but these were unbalanced and not enjoyable. When the bill came, there was a cash vs credit price option, and we were told we were the first guests to use the new system. Even so, the total still didn't match the menu prices we ordered from, and that wasn't clearly explained upfront, which made the experience confusing. Ambiance-wise, it's a classic dive bar -- no complaints there. Live bands, lots of events, and a hole-in-the-wall feel. That part is honestly the strongest draw. For anyone unfamiliar, this used to be Mangan's Irish Hut for years. The original owners retired, someone new bought it, and now it's just "The Hut." The Irish Hut signage is still on the building, with BBQ signage in spots as well, so it feels like the place is still finding its identity. If I'm speaking directly to the owner: there is potential here. The event ideas and community focus are great. But food consistency, drink balance, menu accuracy, and clearer communication all need attention.

My friends ordered chicken and they loved it lightly breaded and was cooked right. They have several beers on tap, I would say about 10, I had Yuengling. Our server was super nice and kept our beers full all evening. They had a singer come in too, and it was Wednesday evening. Wasn't pricey either so would come back.

My husband and I both ordered burgers, taking advantage of the Wednesday burger special, and requested them cooked medium. The kids' meals came out incredibly fast. Laura explained that she wanted to bring them out as soon as they were ready so they wouldn't sit under a heat lamp and so the kids could start eating, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, it was nearly 20 minutes before our meals arrived. When our burgers were delivered, Laura let us know fresh fries would be coming shortly because the fries on our plates were cold. The replacement fries were excellent--hot, fresh, and delicious. Unfortunately, while both burgers were served hot, they were cooked well beyond the medium temperature we ordered. They were very overcooked and dry, which was disappointing. By the time Laura was able to check back with us, the kids had already finished eating and were getting restless, making it difficult to have our meals remade. When we mentioned that this was our second disappointing visit, Laura immediately apologized and said she would speak with the manager. She returned and let us know that the manager, Neil, had removed both burgers from our bill, which we appreciated. However, given that this was our second poor experience--and especially considering we were using a $50 BJ's gift card that had been provided after our previous disappointing visit--we were surprised that the manager never came to our table to speak with us personally. A brief conversation or acknowledgment would have gone a long way toward making us feel like our feedback truly mattered. Laura provided friendly service and did what she could to make things right, and we appreciate her efforts. Unfortunately, after two disappointing experiences, we've decided this restaurant just isn't for us and don't plan on returning.

Their handmade pizza is absolutely amazing and nobody competes with it. I usually order the pizza and the Caesar salad, which is huge and easily shareable for 2-3 people. The kitchen alone is the reason we continue to come back. The owners clearly care about this place and have put their heart into it, so I want to make it clear that this review is not directed toward them personally. Unfortunately, the biggest downside is the crowd late at night on weekends. The bathrooms are often left disgusting by disrespectful customers, and the karaoke crowd can get pretty rough. Service also tends to be slow enough that you'll probably end up walking to the bar yourself for drinks. That being said, this has still become one of our regular meetup spots with friends before deciding where the night is going. We usually go very late and stay until close, so I'm sure it's not always the same atmosphere during earlier hours. If you can look past some of the chaos, the food alone makes this place worth trying at least once. I really wanted to give 5 stars because the food deserves it, but the overall environment keeps me from doing that.

The ambiance is above average; it is nice but not extravagant and you'll fit right in with Saturday errand running attire. My only suggestions are that they add flights and more non dairy small plate items. Overall I did enjoy my time here. The space is quaint and easy to make new friends if sitting at the bar, or at least that was my experience.
