We came here on a Saturday night for a couple of birthdays. We had a reservation for 5:00 and were sat promptly. The service was quite slow, we ended up leaving around 7:00. It took 20ish minutes to get drinks and refills. I had asked for a water several times and we had to end up sharing. We got chicken tenders, poutine and pierogi for appetizers. The poutine and chicken tenders were both amazing! The chicken was fresh and very good quality, it seemed to be hand breaded. The poutine had great flavor also! The pierogi was dry and not great, so I would skip those next time. For dinner I ordered the mac and cheese and French onion soup. The French onion soup was so salty it was inedible. The Mac and cheese was also disappointing. I thought it would be baked or have a sauce and it didn't. It reminded me more of a kids meal (but with adult prices) and was a small portion. I've walked past O'Halloran's plenty of times, but tonight, I decided to give it a go. The ambiance is definitely of an Irish Pub, and the inside looks absolutely beautiful for a pub. Our service was fast and attentive, with constant refills of water and beer. The O'Halloran Public House Burger was fantastic. Corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese, all on a burger was so good, it was unbelivable. I will definitely crave this burger for days to come. Additionally, the fries were cooked to perfection. I would never have walked into this place, because it has such a traditional pub front, I would have assumed it was alcohol-focused. However, my boss said she goes there often, and she was treating me and someone else to lunch, so we checked it out. The restaurant is exactly what you imagine inside: dark with wood floors, a bar, etc. But as we passed through the restaurant and into the patio seating, it turned into something I could imagine in another country. It was super windy and the restaurant probably needs to invest in some paperweights as well as weights for the umbrellas, to keep everything from blowing away. I ordered the roasted pepper salad from the specials menu and it was alright. I was pleased at the size of it but it lacked a bit of flavor. I sprinkled on a packet of pepper and a packet of salt from what had been provided us outdoors and that helped. Met with my friend for our weekly Tuesday night dinner. Decided to come by here and try it out! Started with the feta dip appetizer, then ordered the salmon zen bowl with a salad. The feta dip was really good, I'd never had anything like that before and it was really tasty. The salmon zen bowl was really good. I've been out of Mount Clemens for almost two years now and came back for a weekend to visit friends and family. O'Halloran's was one of my favorite places to eat when I lived here. Unfortunately, everything seems to have gone downhill since my departure from the area. It's gotten so bad that I felt compelled to create this Yelp account and leave a review. We came in with a group of six and were able to be seated immediately, which was nice since we were expecting a wait since that's how it use to be when we would come here two years ago. The inside was very clean and still has a great decor scheme. The look of the restaurant is still very nice but that's about the best thing I can say about it. Our server was a little slow but mostly polite and our first round of drinks didn't take too long to come out. After that first round though, everything went downhill. The next round of drinks took about 8-10 minutes to be delivered and that was pretty much the same for the third round. The food took about 25 minutes to come out which seemed a little long since they were not busy at all but we didn't mind since we were just enjoying conversation and catching up with old friends. The real issue was when the food arrived and we began to eat. My wife ordered a burger medium and when she took the first bite and then showed it to me, it was clearly very well done. No juice at all coming from the burger. She said it tasted okay and didn't want to send it back because she doesn't like to be a bother in public. I wish she would have but I wasn't going to force the issue with her. I had the fish and chips, which I always loved from here, but this time it was a huge let down. The batter was soggy, the fries were cold, the fish was cold, just all around a disappointment. I ate about half of it and then just left the rest on the plate. The server gave me a funny look when she asked if I wanted a box to take it home and I said no thank you. There was no saving that mess. The two other couples we were with (none of whom had ever been here before) all said their food was just okay too and that they would most likely not return to the restaurant after this experience. After we ate our friends all left and my wife and I decided to stay and have a drink at the bar. At least the bartender was very good. She was very personable and attentive and almost saved the terrible experience. I told her that we use to come in regularly but moved away two years ago and that it kind of felt like things were different around there. Not good or bad but just different. She informed me that about a year ago they had a change in management so that might be why it seems different in there. Sliders:you get to pick all the same or a variety; All came on a slider pretzel bun that was bit too heavy for the grilled cheese version, cheese burger choice was amazing( great hand packet burger), Ruben erosion was good. Had a contract to use their party room for a meeting. They were difficult if not impossible to get a hold of. A few days before our meeting they informed us that they would not honor the contract. They wanted more money to rent the room than what was agreed upon in the contract. They were extremely rude and refused to even discuss a compromise. I would never do business with them again. It's funny because we used to come here quite a bit. Anyway we got here early. I always feel like an old lady with my early bird specials, but I only eat one meal a day and that's dinner. So, I like to eat on the early side so I don't get hangry. When we arrived the place was empty. We sat at the bar and ordered beers. They didn't have a huge selection of beers but they had an Ellison Amber so we were happy. They were out of Oberon and two hearted. Their menu was pretty impressive. They had everything from starters to full entrees. I make chicken Florentine at home and wanted to try their version. It was super yummy. However, I have a very delicate palate. It was too spicy for me. So I only had a couple of bites. He tried it and said it wasn't hot at all. But I'm very sensitive. This came with a side and soup or salad. I got the French onion soup . Very delicious! He got a huge half pound burger with bacon and cheddar. It must have been good because he didn't share. There was a Prince cover band playing at the Emerald Ballroom so this place ended up getting packed. We ran into a couple old friends that we had not seen in a long time which was super fun. We got to hang out and chat before the concert. We had a great time and look forward to coming back this summer and sitting on their patio soaking up the sun. They're back! After the news articles and disasters, happy to see this established restaurant is back. Great service - extremely nice and accommodating for my and my two kids. Love their patio, ambiance inside is great. Though there is a slight smell in your dining area they may want to address. Food is great. I heard a lot of good things about this place, and I decided to start with the poutine. You need to start with good fries to make a good poutine. These are great fries. And, for $5 you get a gargantuan portion. The gravy and melty cheese curd are also really good. Wow. You could make a meal out of this. I highly recommend getting the sliders and trying 3 different sliders so you get a sort of sampler of the menu. I got the BLT, the Traditional, and the Reuben. All 3 were on my favorite bun: a pretzel roll, which was soft and with the right amount of chewiness. The BLT, mind blowingly, uses fried green tomatoes. You've never had a BLT like this before. So good. The Traditional is a perfectly seasoned ground chuck. If the other two sliders weren't so good, I would happily have gotten 3 of these. And, the Reuben was a perfect mix of corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut, and sauce. All this would have been plenty for a 5 star rating, but I do need to talk about the beer. A 20 ounce Bell's Two Hearted Ale for $6? Are you kidding me? A lot of places would charge that much for a 12 ounce bottle. There is an excellent draft beer selection, as well as a slew of bottled beers, and all are generously portioned and priced. Finally, the service was friendly and attentive, and the mostly Irish music (and hip 60s tunes) lent a nice atmosphere to the place. read more

We celebrated our extended family Christmas Party this December 2022 in the banquet room at O'Hallorans. We had about 90 people attend. Krystal, the manager was very helpful and accommodating during the whole process. The room itself provided a wonderful atmosphere and the food was great! Not sure how we've missed this place but we're sure to come back. While the bloody Mary's were very plain the food and prices were amazing. I really loved the 1/2 biscuit and gravy. The gravy wasn't over floured and the biscuit was as my fiancé says, "heavenly". Her salad was really good with plenty of meat and veggies.
