Made reservation but came an hour early. We sat right in the front. They had a preformer which was lovely. The band sang a lot of different Caribbean songs which was awesome. The wait staff was attentive. We had different ones. The tropic punch was good but overly sweet. I watered it down with 2 cups of water but it tasted like authentic Jamaican punch. Our meals came with complementary chicken soup, beef and red peas soup, or a house salad. I got the chicken soup with my partner. It tasted like authentic Jamaican soup. It was soo good. Too much sweet pepper and the rice had too much of a coconut flavor (I know that's how they make the rice and peas) but tasted like it was added last minute and it honestly didn't cook into the other flavors of the rice . I ordered from the day before and left a deposit. The day of the dinner, I was coming from Manhattan, and running late. I called ahead to let them know. They told me they wouldn't package the food until I arrived. They kept it nice and hot until I came. Raquel handled everything. I came, paid the balance and watched them bring the packed food out by category: first soups, then appetizers, finally the main dishes, of which I ordered several. They were each clearly labeled. Ughhh. There food is really good. My favorite was the chicken alfredo (rasta pasta) but i just found a piece of broken glass in my food! I literally pulled the glass piece out of my mouth. I have been ordering take-out for a while now from this place. Finally, a dish thats worth writing a review about. This place serves jamaican and chinese food. I ordered the shrimp fried rice With a side of stew chicken. I took one spoon full of the shrimp fried rice and was instantly blown away. It was seasoned perfectly. I mean, we've all had shrimp fried rice before, but there was something so different about theirs. It was FRESH. The flavors blened so well together. I didn't even have to eat my stew chicken. Service was excellent but we were here on a day where it was 97/100 degree weather outside and the air conditioning was not working nor were there any accommodations such as big fans so we had a sweaty uncomfortable exhaustingly hot situation whole dining at Henrica's . Henricas Restaurant management I don't know if you read these reviews am assuming that's a "NO" because service still sucks at your establishment and the food leaves a lot to be desired. PLEASE STOP putting so much blasted salt in the food. High blood pressure is an epidemic in our communities and you are helping to perpetuate the problem. Tell your head chef his/her hand is too heavy with the salt. I purchased a soup from your take out, came home took one spoonful and recoiled from the saltiness. Wasted my money and had to throw the soup in the garbage. I watched in invigorated amazement as to what laid before me. It was like a menu sample sale. The selections literally encompassed the menu choices. This Greatness is available on Friday's & Sunday's for only $13.50 per person, "all you can eat (nyam)". And boy did my partner nyam...from curry goat, oxtail, stew fish/chicken, Baked Mac & Cheese (Qi fave so I killed it), Lo Mein, fruit salad, potato/macaroni salads, pepper shrimp (he was very barbaric at this point, "like baby"...), jerk chicken/pork, even cow foot (which he claims is "Gum-Nyummy") - I can go on, but let's be serious...they had it. As we piled on our selections & returned to our booth...my first taste led me back to Nah Lingah by the Sea, in Jamaica - a cozy shack set along Negril 7 mile beaches. All entrees come with a side salad or soup. For appetizers we had the jerk wings and shrimp. I can honestly say ALL of the food taste great. Make sure you have the rum punch, you can purchase the rum punch by the glass or the pitcher. The cost of food was very reasonable, my mom paid for herself, two other people, appetizers and for 2 pitchers of rum punch and her bill was under $80.00. If you want to eat good food, with a nice vibe and won't break your pockets this is the place to come to. Henricas is alright with me. My best friend comes here for happy hour frequently so I finally was able to join her for a quick hang before an event. I love the ambiance in the place. There's a small bar area attached to a beautifully decorated dining room. We sat at the bar and the vibe was so comfortable and laid back. Happy Hour is between the hours of 5 and 8pm, Mon-Fri. They have a selection of a few drinks for $4 and a few appetizers for $5. I ordered the Sex on the Beach with the Jerk Wings. Now I have to say that I was too happy while watching the bartender make my cocktail. Usually when drinks are $4 for "Happy Hour" we get the cheap house liquor. I didn't even ask what vodka she was putting in the drink because there is no house liquor at their bar. She reached for the Absolut bottle but it was almost empty so she moved right on to the Greygoose. Greygoose for $4? And the drink was strong and tasty! I can dig it. The Jerk Wings were marvelous! At the 2 hour mark (6:05) and no food or call, I called the restuarant and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes, they come back on the line to say they didn't see the order and do I still want it. I ask how long, she responds 20 minutes. It's now an hour since I called and 3 hours (7:15pm) since I placed my order and no food nor have I heard anything back. Shame on Henrica's for its poor customer service, lack of caring for customers, lying and leaving people without dinner. So Eating the "Sweet and Sour Tofu" that I had delivered to my home one night, I took a bite down on a strip of chicken. Yummy, but not the bite I ordered. In my dish, there were 2 pieces of chicken total. I called to express my disappointment and explain that they must tighten up on their practices. Unlike some people who are ordering tofu, I do eat chicken. A mistake like this (as well as the aforementioned without explanation mistake they made) could cost them more than a disappointed phone call.
