Our table never lacked for tea, water, coffee, etc. Foster took great care of us (and shout out to Nick who's also provided amazing service to us there). The Bloody Mary was the first thing to blow my mind. It was absolutely delicious and maybe my new favorite Bloody Mary in LA. It made me wish I'd Ubered. But I also had some wonderful hot, Earl Grey tea. I love how they present it to the table. We covered a lot of ground and no notes. We had the caviar with crème fraîche and truffle kettle chips, a seafood platter that , the fried green tomatoes - which I will order every time I'm there, and the Dungeness crab and rock shrimp Benedict. The dining room itself is beautiful--comfortable, stylish, and inviting. When you look around the room there, it feels like every table in there is celebrating something. In a city overflowing with brunch options, it's surprisingly rare to find a place where the food, service, atmosphere, and pacing all work together so seamlessly. They do have several gourmet cocktails and I tried the PYT with a butterfly blue and butterfly peas - it was really the color changing effect I was after. It was great, not too terribly sweet and just the right strength. They also have a full wine list from Black wineries - so I'm a huge fan of that. Our server was fantastic and everyone that helped us was also incredibly kind. We went on a Friday early evening and it was relatively busy, but it wasn't insanely loud. The short rib was so tender and the wings and cat fish were also very flavorful. In the past I also liked their oxtail a lot and I can't wait to come back and get that next time. You really can't go wrong with any of the sides but we ordered the Candied Yams, Fried Okra, Potato Salad, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread Dressing, and Greens with Smoked Turkey. We had initially planned on having beignets but did not have any more room -- even the dessert pocket was full! The atmosphere is very relaxed. They have several tables in the main dining area and the bar section. Orders are placed and picked up at the front counter. Everyone is super friendly. Parking can get a tricky in Chinatown. She told me this branch was started by the same folks of the original in New Orleans. Due to a an issue with the freeway closure and horrible traffic, we were very late and she kindly honored our reservation. The food was fantastic. Great crunchy and spice on the chicken (it is on the spicy side so be careful if you cannot handle the heat). The little corn breads were just the right amount. We tried the yams, which is a must, but also shared some of the other sides. The cabbage is cooked kind of like collard greens. The butter beans and rice is very tasty. We also tried the mashed potatoes and gravy. All sides are vegan, which I thought was done for the local L.A. crowd, but we were told the sides are vegan in the original recipes. Next time I'd like to try the gumbo and other dishes on the menu.

Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!).
