I was really looking forward to a "crispy" hash brown casserole as mentioned on the menu. However my casserole was uncooked, not fully warm and definitely not crispy. My scrambled eggs were completely dry. Toast came with my meal and I requested gluten free per my allergy and was upcharged for it, when no up charge was shown in the menu or mentioned by the server. I asked for a water and never got one. I sat there for about forty minutes waiting for water and to speak with a server. When they came finally we were told we would be comped but all that was comped was the side of hash brown casserole for less than $5. My breakfast companion, who has been a customer off and on since 1989, ordered his eggs sunny side up and instead got over medium, and just ate them. It is unlikely that either of us will return. I left without eating any breakfast. Very poor service, not a great experience and the food was sub par. Thankfully Friendly Toast was right around the corner and exceeded expectations on both food and service and I did not leave hungry. read more

Henry's Diner is what all breakfast should be! We visited on our last morning in Burlington and had it been our first I probably would have been in here every day. I love a classic diner and Henry's did not disappoint. We were there around 8am on a Sunday and was able to score a table without any type of wait. I got the corned beef eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The corned beef was homemade and spot on, plenty of corned beef not all potato and was perfectly seasoned. The hollandaise sauce was quite tasty as well. The combo was a win and if Henry's was by my house, I'd be in far too often. My husband just went with a classic breakfast plate and he enjoyed his as well. Service was friendly and fast. If you like a good old fashioned diner breakfast this is a must stop in when in Burlington! read more

Went for brunch on a Saturday around noon, was about a 20 minute wait for two. We got a booth and loved the throwback vibes of the diner. You have to call ahead for seating reservations inside or place your order over the phone for takeout. We got the Vermonter, a homemade corned beef hash, which came with home fries, Vermont cheddar, 2 eggs, and a biscuit (but you can choose toast or an English muffin). It was insanely delicious -- perfectly spiced and on the salty side that makes a good corned beef. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. These were the largest eggs I've ever seen, cooked to runny perfection. I will be dreaming of this hash for years to come. We went to the waterfront and sat on benches to enjoy our feast. Highly recommend! I also loved that everything came in compostable containers and that there was a wax paper bag for coffee items, and another with ketchup, salt, pepper. read more

Really solid old-school diner right in the center of town. We came for breakfast, and everything we had was great. My biscuits and gravy were exactly what I needed on a chilly morning. Well-seasoned and tasty, just an all-around good rendition. My eggs were perfectly cooked. My fiancé enjoyed his French toast. We went all out and split an Oreo milkshake which was perfect, and came with the extra milkshake in the metal cup. They didn't skimp on the ice cream either, as I noticed our waitress laboriously scooping a generous amount of it into the blender cup. The atmosphere is lovely and retro with vinyl booths that look straight out of the 50s. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us. They do everything the right way here. I love visiting locally owned businesses especially if I see a line on a cold morning. I stayed put because I am very intrigued as to what the fuss is all about. The place was quaint with little hooks on the walls and side tables where you can hang your coats and jackets. It's that old pops diner atmosphere, I liked it. It felt comfortable and hungry. I was seated at the very end and was served with a coffee. Though I had to asked the waitress to replaced it because it wasn't hot enough for me, which then she brewed a fresh one. I opted for corned beef hash skillet and toasts. I've never tasted a good corned beef that's actually real, lean beef (not in America); it was delicious. The employees were pleasant and kind. I was a happy camper when I left. The restaurant was still packed with local customers. You know the saying goes, "go where local people go". read more

My friend Toni had to take an exam today and her dear friends drove her up to Burlington from Middlebury. Because I'm a leech, I naturally tagged along for the free ride, and so we ended up here. We got here around 8AM in a Tuesday which explains why the only other people here were some older New England men chatting it up over some morning coffee I presume. My friend Sandra (who is arguably often also an old man) had come here before and recommended we eat here. I had the Vermonter skillet which was delicious! I got it with poached eggs because I couldn't decide between the Irish Eggs Benedict and the Vermonter but I figured they were practically the same if I opted for poached eggs. Also got an English muffin which was buttered to buttery goodness. Our waitress was very attentive and fast with our orders! My friend Maria got the Little Henry which was actually a lot of food (got the bang for her buck) and couldn't finish it all. I myself am sufficiently stuffed with my $12.15 breakfast! read more

My husband & I had breakfast at Henry's both mornings we were visiting Burlington. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby, but we know we can get a great meal at Henry's. This diner is clean. All of the employees are super friendly. The food comes out quickly and is hot. Yesterday, I had a breakfast sandwich with eggs over easy, Vermont cheddar cheese and ham on grilled Greek bread-SO GOOD!! Today I had Eggs Benedict on the advice of our server. Absolutely delicious!! My hubby had French Toast with a side of (thick) bacon yesterday & a Denver Omelet today. He enjoyed both meals. Coming from a guy who doesn't like to go out for breakfast, that's a big compliment. The home fries are very peppery. Coffee is good & bottomless. I recommend Henry's without hesitation. We came here based on a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel - he was spot on, this place was terrific. Like other restaurants in town they are taking social distancing and cleaning very seriously - even had a QR code of the online menu posted right up front so we could peruse our options without touching a "shared" menu. Nice touch. I had the veggie skillet with fried eggs and it was so full of flavor, the cheddar was melted all up in the potatoes and veggies, and there was a lovely mess leftover for my grilled toast to sop up (maybe the best toast I've had). As far as diners go, they don't get much better then this! I absolutely adored my experience here, from the friendly and kind staff, to the lively ambiance and the quintessential diner food served just the way you'd expect. A very enjoyable overall experience. What struck me first, was by far he service. Friendly but extremely efficient, everyone from the hostess to our waitress was delightful. Our waitress was also very helpful with recommendations and helped us narrow down our ordering strat. Good thing too, because there are so many items to choose from on the menu! I ordered the veg skillet with over-medium eggs and a pancake on the side (I'm breastfeeding, no judgement...lol). Everything was delicious and perfect diner food. If you like the old style diner feel with great service, this is the place to go in town. I've been coming here for awhile now and always have a great experience. The food is fast, hot, and delicious. One of the few restaurants that have been able to stay open during Covid. They are able to seat people and still social distance everyone. Excellent diner in the heart of downtown Burlington. Very classic with the stools at the counter. Not a lot of seating but worth the stop. I enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes that were the special, tasted like pumpkin pie. The menu had some tasty sounding dishes, from skillets to Omelette. Service was fast and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Very popular place so get there early, they open at six and the prices are very reasonable. The place reminds me of all the old diners I would go with my dad when I was a kid. Make sure your party is all present when you arrive or they won't seat you. I like this rule. read more

Henry's is the cutest diner i've been tô in so so long, specifically one that's so antiquated and still retaining the retro feel since it opened 90 years ago! the creamy yellow of the seats and the low trailer like space made the booth cozy right away. My waitress was a younger college girl, much like the rest of the crowd which the diner seems to attract since it's in the heart of burlington. I ordered a lemon chicken and rice soup and a blt sandwich - both made quickly and well. the soup was a bit thick, but that's how new englanders eat soup, and the sandwich was well presented. prices were reasonable, perhaps a bit on the pricier side for diner food but overall worth it and not too bad for a quick bite in town! read more

Just had the vegetables skillet. Comes with home fries, onions, bell peppers,mushrooms and 2 eggs. I chose the English muffin (toasted just right) Eggs were cooked perfectly. Over medium as requested. Shelby was my server and she never let my coffee cup go empty. The entire staff seemed to enjoy their job which I always appreciate.
