I've visited Henry's over a dozen times with friends in Burlington and it's the closest thing to a true diner in the Burlington area. It's always packed on the weekends with college students and locals alike. The food is always delicious, traditional diner food with some twists. Corned beef hash is one of the better ones I've had in the North East. The only downsides are a very small waiting area/entrance that often feels congested on the weekends. Also the tables on the farther side of the diner are very cramped together, so you really have no privacy (or room) during your meal. I was in Burlington for a few days over the New Year holiday weekend and went to Henry's twice. I highly recommend it! I love classic diners and diner food and Henry's was exactly what I was hoping for. The pricing is like a typical diner, which I was surprised about since it's located right off Church Street. We had the same server both times and she was super friendly and nice. The food came out within 10 minutes both times, which was great. The food itself was great and exactly what I was expecting from diner food (in the best way possible). I recommend getting their bacon (well-done/crispy)--it's really good! They're also being very safe with COVID. All of the employees wear masks the whole time and they sanitize the tables between each customer. They also only seat people at every other table so there's an empty table between each party. Make sure to call in to make a reservation though! We went on a couple weekdays so it wasn't too crowded but I can imagine it gets busy on the weekend. I'd also recommend calling them to see about their hours because the hours on Google didn't match their actual hours. read more

While there is very limited seating due to Covid, this place is ALWAYS worth the wait. The staff is friendly and inviting and the food is second to none. We started off with some pancakes for the table and they were so light and fluffy. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy... wow. It was perfectly cooked and SO tasty. I got the Vermonter skillet that comes with corned beef hash, eggs, potatoes, and it's topped with Vermont cheddar. It was so delicious, but the shining star of the dish was the best English muffin either of us have ever had. It was fluffy and large and you just have to try it for yourself. Breakfast is served all day and the prices are kept fairly low. They also have lunch specials, which will keep your stomach and wallet full. I got a Mom's burger for only $2.95 with chips included. As if that wasn't enough, I also ordered the tuna melt special with a cup of corn chowder and chips for $6.95. The soup was thick and warmed me right up, which is great for a cold snowy day. I also tried some of their breakfast menu food. I love a good biscuit and they sure know how to make them here. It was flakey and warm and tasted like it came straight out of a traditional Southern oven. Henry's is a great place to try if you're with the family or on a tight budget. It was a tough choice between all the other places and reviews. We had a mix of food, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, etc. The food the French toast was reallllly good, honestly, if it wasnt for this, i'd have a hard time even giving three stars. The bacon was decent, sausage was meh as well. The eggs were overcooked too. The bread that came with the eggs was oddly amazing though. Warning to pancake lovers, they may or may not be delicious to you pending on if you like thin or thick pancakes. My dad and sister didnt like the style, but i did, it's a thicker batter, but it still needed some vanilla flavoring to it as it was a smidge bland. Would I go back, no. Alright, I love good a Diner. But, I think that Henry'S has a lot more going for it. First, the service fast and really friendly. Everyone went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. Traveling with a baby can be hard and the whole team was very welcoming. Our waitress Danielle honestly was in love with the baby and it was funny how she was telling the whole team. If there's one takeaway I got from Burlington, it's when it comes to the food scene, there's something from everyone. The morning I was leaving I popped into Henry's dinner for some breakfast. The line was out the door and the place was really small. It has a 1950's diner look and feel. After squeezing by the front door for 20 minutes, we finally sat for breakfast. The servers were really friendly and had a small town charm about them. I had their breakfast special if the day consisting of bone in ham, scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast. Everything was very good, and given how crowded the place was, the food came in record speed. This a great place amongst many in Burlington, especially for breakfast.
