Henry's is a treasure. It's an old fashioned ice cream parlor with zero traces of hip or trendy. BUT the ice cream is available in lots of varieties from classic flavors to more modern options -- as well as a cup, cone, sundae, milkshake, etc. And the service was patient and friendly with me as a first time visitor. This is closer to 3.5 star but first and foremost, great home made cones with very reasonable pricing. Please note they give MASSIVE portions so order the smallest they have, you will be more than sated! Try the flavors - some of them (like the choc) was underwhelming. I had the hot fudge sundae that was reasonable priced (~$5) but was way too much for 1 person. My wife had the butter pecan which was good coupled with the great-and-not-overpriced waffle cones! Would return to try other flavors but for me, wouldn't go out of my way here. I personally feel Pacugio's would be a better option (but more $) read more

Tried Henry's Homemade Ice Cream for the first time tonight! Had a strong craving for something cold and sweet and behold, I see Henry's!! When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the staff. (Two super sweet and awesome young ladies!!) They asked what they could get me and I told them that this was my first time coming to Henry's, but was excited to give them a try. I asked for recommendations and they quickly shot a few they favorited. I ended trying the very recommended Peanut Butter Brownie with a waffle cone! And it was soooo good! I could almost say it spoke to my soul! I will definitely be making another visit and think this place would be a great stop for date or a few friends to grab something sweet! This was such a great surprise! We walked in expecting something like a marble slab and we're totally blown away with what we got. So many flavors and my favorite was the "kitchen sink" a little bit of everything. Staff was super friendly. There was seating everywhere and I loved that they did different flavors during the week. They also had take home pints and gallons. The ice cream is a rich thick creamy consistency. All the flavors we had, tasted fresh and the cones we're amazing. Once again Yelp contributors made my day! I drove 20 minutes out of my way to get here, so I had high expectations, and was not disappointed... When faced with so many choices, I did what any normal person would do, and ordered a banana split so I could try at least 3. After a painstaking round of option elimination...Award winning strawberry, chocolate Oreo, and toffee was my "final answer". The toffee ice cream is flavorful and specked with chunks of their crispy homemade toffee. The Oreo was as advertised, and the strawberry was very smooth. While I enjoyed them all I was sad when I mowed through the toffee as it disappeared...if I'm able to come back I will likely order 2 scoops it was so good. My only criticism is that all ice cream is served in styrofoam containers with wooden spoons...I enjoy nicer dishes at places with "dine-in" accommodations, and prefer choices that don't harm the environment, but otherwise this was a great experience. As she was fixing my cone she must've forgot what I asked for, as she asked me again. I repeat my order all for her to give me one scoop of banana pudding and pumpkin something or other. Ummmmm yeah, that isn't what I asked for, so I repeated my order again. Then she told me they didn't carry butter pecan. So, I just purchased the one scoop of banana pudding. Flavor & cone: The waffle cone was EXCELLENT!!! I love nuts, so this was a pleasant addition to my ice cream selection. Imagine a Hershey's almond bar melted on a waffle cone.... that's the nutty buddy cone. Yum:) The banana pudding ice cream tasted more like vanilla ice cream with banana flavoring added to it. Henry's feels like the inside of a grandparent's house with their solid wooden tables and leather chairs. Homey, comfortable, innovative, somewhat out of place.. I was surprised by the seating. The ice cream was pretty typical of what you would find in other places though they did have a few unique flavors: spumoni (Italian ice cream consisting of pistachio, vanilla, and strawberry), lavender, wedding cake, and ginger among others. My friend got a scoop of their ginger ice cream whereas I was really craving chocolate so got their chocolate chocolate chip. Their scoops are humongous! I'm glad I stuck with one scoop since it's equivalent to two scoops at other ice cream shops. The chocolate was rich and creamy with tons of chocolate chips inside. And I mean tons. Love this adorable little place! I was excited when I stumbled across it one day while driving through Plano, because although I've had Henry's ice cream before it's been at restaurants like Bobs Steak and chop house and Winewood. The offer many unique and delicious flavors and they have a good mix of favorite staples and seasonal features. This place has the feel of a place that should be on a Main St. of a small town or beach city. The down home vibe is compounded by their homemade ice cream that is oh so delicious, that they serve it at restaurants around town. We were here around 5pm on a Sunday, parking was easy, and it was not crowded at all. We were able to sample a bunch of flavors and then ended up getting the coffee. They offer a cone that is dipped in chocolate and then sprinkled upon. Oh and did I mention the prices are cheap! Beats any of the chain places anytime.
