We were greeted promptly, and the team member was great at making sure my selection was gluten-free. I opted for peanut butter, and it hit the spot. You know, this place is pretty cool. Not cheap, but pretty dang cool. I've walked by tons of times but rarely go out for dessert. I was walking around the Marriott pond with my daughter on my day off and it was the perfect day to try this place. What's the difference between gelato and ice cream, my daughter asks. Ask the nice man, I say, so she does. (There's also a description on the wall about gelato.) He says it's made without cream (just milk) and fresh, natural ingredients, like fresh fruit. Very natural and fresh. While I know it's Italian in origin, I don't think this dude was Italian (not that that matters!). We also ask him about flavors and Daughter tries a couple of samples. I go with pistachio and "bitter chocolate" (dark chocolate). The dark chocolate is rich and amazing. WOW. The pistachio is good but not very pistachio-forward - pretty subtle, almost like a vanilla with subtle pistachio flavor. I wouldn't get that again - but I'd definitely get dark chocolate again. Maybe I'll pair with peanut butter next time. It's pricey. Pretty small servings for the cost. Amazing product and I like how natural and "more healthy" it is vs your normal ice cream (calorie count shown for each flavor), but you definitely pay the premium for a premium product. read more

My travels led me to Plano for the day to visit some friends and family. Upon pulling into my hotel, I glanced over and saw a sign with something gelato. My daughter, being a huge fan of gelato, suggested we have some gelato after dinner. I am not a big fan of gelato, but who am I to deny the wishes of my princess. After dinner, as promised, my family and I strolled over to the Gelato Cone and walked in. The Gelato Cone is located in the Shops at Legacy in a very affluent area. There is a lot of great places to shop and eat at nearby, so it located in a perfect spot. There was a lot of people standing outside enjoying gelato, so this was a good sign. Behind the counter was a nice gentleman and a glass case with a large selection of delicious and unique flavors. I want to say the menu had over 30 different flavors. Some of the more popular ones were out. After asking the gentleman behind the counter what he recommended (the two he suggested were Nutella and pistachio) and trying a lot of the different flavors we had made our selection. For my wife, strawberry; my daughter milk chocolate and chocolate chip with mint; my other daughter vanilla; and myself milk chocolate and chocolate chip with mint. We paid the nice gentleman, and were on our way. We were hoping to sit down and enjoy the gelato right away, but could not due to the lack of seating inside. I'm not sure if the tables were removed due to COVID, or if there were no tables to begin with. No problem, so we went outside. The two tables outside were occupied and overcrowded, so we had to walk all the way back to our hotel to enjoy our gelato. In the future, more seating would be nice. After walking back to our hotel we sat in the lobby and enjoyed our gelato. Like stated before, I am generally not a gelato fan, but this was delicious. The taste was amazing, the texture was great, and we all ate every bite. I'm very glad my daughter suggested it. I highly recommend this gelato shop for a delicious sweet treat. I went on a Thursday evening with a friend and the place was quite empty. There was no line, and not a single customer walked in during the time we were sitting outside enjoying our ice cream. They currently do not have indoor seating but there was several small tables outside. We had a good experience though. There was no staff member attending the main area, but one walked in from the back immediately when we entered. He answered our questions about flavors and was friendly. I was happy to see they had several nondairy flavors including bitter chocolate (which I did not find bitter but just right) and some fruit sorbets (berry, mango, strawberry).
