Stopped in for drinks and a small bite. Drinks were good and the bartender was friendly. Tried wings and truffle fries. Ate one wing but they were super chewy and not very good. If I could give this place zero stars I would. You would think, Asians wouldn't be racist against other Asians... well. I'm here to tell you that's false at Henry's. So don't get the one star fool you. That is way too good for this dump. My group got there and we had to wait for a server... like way too long (not to mention there was no one in the restaurant) my guess is she was on her phone or talking to co workers. They were rude as hell to my asian friend... like just because the coronavirus started in Asia, doesn't mean you have to be rude to Asians. We ordered simple fare. Steak. Chicken etc. I ordered my steak medium rare, I got my steak medium well. Like what? So asked for a new one. Guess what!!! I got a rare steak! So bloody it might as well have been made daw. It took them 4 times to make me a mediocre steak. By that time it was cold. Gross. Not to mention the owner, I presume Henry? Was extremely rude about the whole situation. I'm assuming he was the owner. Short, looked like the mushrooms in Super Nintendo Mario games? Idk. I don't give a damn what video game you crawled out of, the customer is your concern. So refreshing to find a place like this in the area! The drinks here are so good, we tried the mojito mojito, the thyme gin and tonic and the Elijah whiskey, all were so on point we ordered a second round. The poutine fries are amazing, the boneless wings were great, and the crab cheese wontons were also amazing. Everything came out of the kitchen piping hot and fresh. Great flavors and the prices were on point. Our server was very attentive and friendly in fact everyone that passed our table was friendly and asked if we were ok. The main dishes there are mostly burgers with a few salads and other sandwich types. As the burgers kept passing us as they came out of the kitchen, my husband's eyes got bigger and bigger. We were just there for aps and drinks, however our whole group is going back tonight for dinner, because those burgers looked amazing! read more

Great beer selection and atmosphere. It's unassuming in a giant strip mall with bad signage that doesn't really scream "this is a bar!" But check it out, especially if you're looking for an alternative to the normal spots around Haslett and Okemos. Prices are good too! read more

We went for lunch for our first visit. Great service. Very polite and informative. The ragoons were excellent with just enough sweetness for sauce. Decent burgers as well. We will be back to try their beer selection soon! read more

This is exactly the kind of place we need in Okemos. The food is excellent and fun - fried okra, gyros, Greek salad, etc. along with the kid-friendly staples, e.g. chicken tenders. The fantastic beer and bar selection make it a great place to hang out and watch the games. read more

My wife and I went there for the first time. The food is good - we had the classic burger. The beer selection on tap is wide and deep. The server was bomb-diggity. Where the place falls is the seating is limited. There just isn't enough room for people to sit comfortably. Which leads me to the actual seats, they were not comfortable at all. Many of them were tall tables with tall chairs. The acoustics in the place are terrible as well. There were about 25-30 people there and it was loud, I mean you couldn't hear yourself think loud. I suppose if the timing was right, we'd go back, but it won't be on the top of our list, sadly. I really wanted to like the place. read more

Henry's Place is THE Place to be. Right from the start, their staff is the best. Chris and Maria are professional and friendly to the point that they make you feel like family. The atmosphere is comfortable, easy and not stuffy. Exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood bar. The menu is limited, but I actually like that. Just tried Henry's Place and we will be back. I had the burger and it was juicy, tasty and a true 1/2 pounder. Wow am I full. My husband had the wings and really enjoyed them. He often orders wings at other establishments and is disappointed either about the size or dryness of the wings. However that was not the case at Henry's Place. I had a cocktail and a beer. My cocktail was delicious. With 2 meals, a side, 3 beers, and a cocktkal our bill was $60. If we hadn't ordered the side it would've been about $52 which is average for the area. The owner waited on us, he was very nice and decked out in his MSU attire. Can't wait to return. read more

Hard to find at night since they don't have a lit sign yet. Was pretty quiet on a Saturday night. Friendly service, amazing wings cooked to perfection, and a mediocre cocktail menu that didn't exactly match our tastes. May go back just for those wings though. read more

being that my boyfriend and I have worked in resturants for years we can be a little snobby when it comes to food. Henry's Place did not disappoint. The food was awesome. The fish tacos, while fried, were still light and fresh. The cheese curds that were used on the bacon cheese burger made for one of the best burgers I've had in quite some time. The potatoes in the potato leek soup with a little under done but the flavor more than made up for it. I would highly recommend. read more

Planned to have 10-12 friends meet here for a Christmas gathering but the waitress was so rude, she drove us out. The menu is overpriced ($16 hamburger) and while it is varied, we had to leave due to her yelling and random requests ('do you want the blind down, because I really don't want to put it down.' "I don't care". Then she puts it down and tells me she wants it up. "Put it up then"). 'And you can't put any tables together because of the Fire Marshall.' "Ok, not even 2?" This goes on for 10 minutes while other guys are getting here. We all decided, and told her if she doesn't stop, we're leaving (we were also concerned that she would spit in our food). She didn't, so we did. Went to Buddy's just down the street and had a great time. And cheaper for the same menu. Will never go back and I told the waitress while leaving that she just cost her company $250-$300 by being, well, unstable. I would fire her. read more

They have a good selection of beer, but check your prices before ordering. You may experience sticker shock. I've have been there twice. The first time I had two sixteen ounce craft beers and the bill was approximately $9. Not bad. My second trip today consisted of one 16 ounce Moose Drool and another 16 ounce Ellison beer. The bill for those two (counting the $3 coupon that was somehow factored in) was $14.84 not including the tip. Yikes. read more

The food looked okay but unfortunately after 10-12 minutes of waiting for someone to serve us, we decided to leave. Place was not busy at all but we got walked by about 6 times without a glance. I never call someone over for the simple fact that I should not have to. Walked out and went elsewhere. Will not be walking back in that is for sure. read more
