Four of us went for dinner. We had reservations for 5:30. We were seated in about 10 minutes, but no one greeted us or came to the table for 20 minutes. The server came and took our drink order, and disappeared for 25 minutes!! Three of us finally got our drinks delivered by another girl. Our 4th person did not get her drink. We gave our food orders and asked for our friend's drink. She said ' oh sorry' and disappeared. We waited 27 minutes for our food. Asked again for her drink-it was brought 5 minutes after we started eating. Guess what??? It wasn't what she ordered! The table next to us waited as long as we did and was not happy! The two top behind us left and went to the bar to get their drinks. We all converged on the sidewalk as we left and there were three groups of us saying what a horrible experience that was. None of us had ever been there before and will never go back! It's really too bad that management is so bad. I'm a former steakhouse General Mgr and they were COMPLETELY understaffed. The manager was even taking orders at the table behind us. I have be to say that the food was amazing, the place is really cool looking, but the service is absolutely HORRENDOUS. BEWARE!! read more

I walked to this location to meet friends. They weee already seated. Our server was very nice. He seemed to be covering a lot of tables. I ordered chicken tacos and fries with melted cheese over it with ranch. I had water to drink. Unfortunately, the kitchen had a difficult time with our group order. Some food was sent back. I attempted to eat mine but the tacos lacked flavor. I still paid for them but didn't eat most of it. Not sure if I would return. The service was good overall but the food wasn't that great. They also were slow in getting things fixed that were messed up with the order. read more

Everything was amazing! The manager was incredibly nice and our bartenders were awesome. The service is very efficient and they have one of the best bar atmospheres great for crowds, watching the game, or just getting a quick bite. Do yourself and get here now! read more

The service was solid and there are TV's everywhere with tons of sports on. Music was way too loud (waitress agreed). The bison burger had too many onion straws and bleu cheese (and I LOVE bleu cheese). The burger was dry and the bacon was flabby. The pastrami Reuben was a "B" mostly because the rye bread was quite good. I wouldn't rush to come back but not horrible if you're in a pinch. read more

Very unfriendly service and attitudes from bar tender/server and manager. The bar tender acted like he didn't want to be there, and the manager was less than friendly when My girlfriend asked when our order would be delivered after other guests received their order and ordered after we did.. Once we received our meal, the hamburger was ordered as medium and received it as well done. The fries were Luke warm at best. The Caesars salad was offered as an option to the fries, but the $2.75 upcharge was not disclosed. The Caesars salad was caked with loads of dressing, making it far from appetizing. When the server asked how the food was, we said the burger was well done instead of medium, and his response was, "Im sorry to hear that. He also never refilled our water or asked if we would like another drink or dessert. We couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

Great find for Happy Hour. Good service and nice wide selection of beers and liquor at good prices. The Happy Hour appetizers were a good value. Giant pretzel, good size pizza with a really good crust and the mozzarella sticks were freaking amazing. Six large slabs a soft fresh cheese coated in a Parmesan breadcrumb mix and fried to golden brown amazement, served with a good herby marinara sauce. That's worth every calorie. Service was attentive, not intrusive. It's a big space so it can get loud. We came early and had no trouble having a conversation at the table. There are parking lots across the street and you can easily walk from the Pavilions parking too. read more

I'd like to apologize to the good people of Denver for having to watch me devour my dinner. Came off a flight and realized I hadn't eaten a full meal all day. Ended up choosing Henry's Tavern out of desperation but, so glad I did. Ordered the BBQ chicken plate and a Big Bear mixed drink. My family ordered the fajita salad and salmon. The chicken itself was very juicy, and a crisp skin despite no frying. The grits were a bit toothsome with a wonderful creamy, garlic flavor to them. 1000% would eat again. The big bear drink, really tasted mostly of triple sec and blueberry so not bad. My family enjoyed their offerings as well. Service was great but, this is the part where y'all should heed my warning (and others on this site). I originally ordered the Traveller as a drink. Was told they were sold out of the ingredients, which firm, that does happen. Ordered Big bear as a replacement. But when we got our check, we were charged for both drinks! So disappointed with this place. Walked in and Hostess was not friendly at all, it seem so deliberate, she did not give us a HH menu, she looked right at them and chose not to give one. Asked server for one, seemed frustrated. It wasn't our fault, one was not given. That was just the beginning. My husband had a birthday reward from bubba gump, which Henry's used to be owned by. Come to find out they are NOT owned by the same company. They ran the reward for the full amount of $25.00. This is one of those times when I'm starting my review while sitting in the restaurant. We were greeted and seated promptly, though with a nearly empty restaurant, not sure why they sat us right behind a large table. It was just odd. And then it seemed we didn't have a server or nobody knew who was going to serve us. I saw the host (or who I assume was the host, since he sat us) talking to a busser and pointing our way so I'm guessing he was asking who our server was supposed to be. Eventually, the host came over and ended up taking our order, but we struggled to understand him since he spoke far too low. At first I thought he was just offering to get us drinks until our server came over. Apparently I was wrong. I ordered an iced tea and was never asked if I wanted any sweetener. Thankfully I carry my own. He came back with the drinks and asked if we wanted anything else so I said we were ready to order. We gave our order and he walked away, but returned shortly thereafter to let my husband know that they were all out of the Cubano that he ordered (at 3:30 on a Thursday). Again, hard to understand him and he stood off to the side, and he didn't bring a menu back for us to look at. He mumbled something which I eventually determined to be that they had a prime rib sandwich, which I relayed to my husband and he decided to just go with that. In the meantime, the 5 small pieces of ice in my ICED tea had melted so I waited for him to return, which he didn't do until he brought our food. I finally asked for more ice. I'll describe the manner in which he brought the cup of ice as a "drive by" since he never stopped but slid the glass on the table and kept walking - to deliver drinks to the next table. Did I mention he had seated everyone in one tiny cluster? This dining room is big and yet it seems he wants us all to become friends because he sat us all right next to each other. I was about to say he never came back once to check on us, but he just did another drive by and mumbled something that might have been "good?", as he headed to the next table. Now we're waiting for the check. Let's see how long this takes! The clock is ticking! Ok, that didn't take too long - about 5 minutes. The food itself was decent. I did upgrade the fries that came with my burger - going for the gorgonzola fries. They were $3 more. Not bad, but could have been better. There was a puddle of gorgonzola sauce on the bottom, so those fries were soggy and it looked like they put the crumbles on top before adding the sauce, which made the crumbles mushy too. My burger was the BBQ bacon burger and I felt they used too much BBQ sauce making the bun soggy and causing the onion strings to lose their crispiness. My husband said his "prime rib sandwich" was really just a cheesesteak with a side of au jus. Nothing spectacular and he said his regular fries were really bland. I'll admit, I chose the place based on the name alone. My grandfather's name was Henry and he was my hero, but this place was closer to a zero. If we find ourselves back in Denver in the future, we won't be dining at Henry's. read more

I've never had a cob salad covered in green onions before, the menu didn't mention onion... kind of ruined it for me.

From the get go we should have realized how far downhill this place has gone. The hostess was not at the door when we walked in, when she spotted us from the bar, she looked pained to have to seat a table. She told us in a very mumbled tone that it would be a 20 minute wait for a table - keep in mind there were less than 5 sat tables in the restaurant. We had a female server ask us for drinks and she disappeared for several minutes, then a male server came and asked us for our order, including drinks. We had to repeat the food order three times per person, no lie. Surprisingly the food did come out correctly, however, it took about 45 minutes, again, 4 tables in the dining room, and we hadn't received our appetizers. Appetizers were "rushed" after our meal was delivered. Neither waitperson seemed to know which one was our actual server and which was the assistant. The female waitress apologized for the dining room being so backed up. LITERALLY 4 TABLES!!!!! Credit card was given to the female waitress and the male waiter came back to drop off the receipt for signature and did not offer boxes for our half eaten appetizers. By the way, no deduction for forgetting the apps and barely an apology. This service was the WORST!! The food was ok, but not worth the price paid. Go to Yard House or Ted's Montana Grill for a better experience. read more

Great restaurant with a huge bar, and all garage door windows were open to the street on an unseasonably warm day in February. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza, which was unusual but very tasty. Cut into strips made a different experience, but it was easy to dip into their flavorful sauce. Carter had a huge crowd under control without ever seeming to be rushed. I've been here many times, and I'm sure I'll be back many times. And don't get me wrong, I do recommend it here, but gosh its just so inconsistent. When it's good, it's great! I used to come here a lot for lunch because I used to work a few blocks away. To my recollection, I've never had a bad experience during lunch hour. But several times I've come here for dinner and had such a weird experience. Twice I came for dinner and the service was just unbearably slow. The most recent experience I had here, our order came out in the exact opposite order you would expect - entrees first, then appetizer (which we ordered first and separately), and then finally drinks. Overall I think your best bet is to come here for lunch, or to come for drinks and apps at the bar. And if management is reading this, I really hope my feedback is constructive and helpful and I don't mean to bash because I really hope to come back sometime and have consistently great experiences. read more

Had a conference in Denver and this restaurant hosted our welcome dinner. They were amazing! This place truly exceeded our expectations and had amazing food and service. We had so many great food choices. From chicken sliders to spinach dip to Mac and cheese. Everything was so tasty and we had so much left over because the portions were huge! My favorite was definitely the Brussels sprouts, potatos, and chicken. The service was also great! We had our own little private space in the back which was great for a group of 30. The servers were great and checked up on us regularly. I definitely recommend this place and if I'm ever back in the area I would come back. read more

During a conference in downtown Denver, we fell upon Henry's Tavern. With upscale bar food, I was hopeful to find one or two gluten free options to meet my allergy needs. Not only was the waitress attentive to my needs, but the executive chef, Colter Wilkie, walked to my table, personalized my meal, and independently prepared the food because as he said, "There's so much on the line and I really want you to enjoy your meal." The salad was completely personalized, beautiful, and so so delicious. We will absolutely return to Henry's Tavern and will follow Chef Wilkie anywhere he ends up. read more

I came by to Henry's Tavern for dinner with my dad after a long day of traveling by plane, train, and bus. It is conveniently located on the corner of the 16th Street Mall and Welton Ave. It was a nice night at the perfect temperature so we decided to sit outside. With several tables empty, host almost didn't give us an outside table, quoting "I don't think I can sit anymore people outside. Let me see if there's anything inside." I was a bit disappointed as we really wanted to sit outside, but he changed his mind and we got an outdoor table. For drinks, my dad got a hefe beer (forgot where it was brewed from) and I got a watermelon martini. For food, he had the ultimate mac and cheese sandwich and I had the mac and cheese burger. The burger was ultimately delicious! This was a great restaurant to eat at. I hope to be back soon. read more

Good food, horrible service. Hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait and would text when the table is ready. At 30 minutes I had not received a text so I went up to the hostess stand, she seated us at that time. We had my toddler with us and had requested a high chair, she seated us at a high top, I kindly asked to be moved to a lower table to accommodate the child. Then after finally being seated, we wanted to order from the happy hour menu (that was advertised outside and the reason we came) and was told the happy hour menu was only available for the bar side and we were already seated on the regular dining side. Servers were rude and didn't listen or inform us of anything. We got nachos and pizza, they were good but I would not return because of the poor service we had :( read more

In town on vacation. Food at Henry's was - at best - mediocre. We had the nachos - no cheese, just a drizzle of some type of cheese sauce do a lot of chips completely plain. Alfredo - 5 out of 10. French dip was fine. Grilled cheese was disappointing - the cheese wasn't melted and the pepper jam tasted like strawberry jam. The service was really bad - slow and we didn't get the salt we asked for, and it took a long time to place orders for drinks and food - when they forgot my soup (bisque - not really) that came with the grilled cheese it took at least 10 minutes to get a cup read more

We had THE BEST TIME at Henry's in Denver! My husband and I visited on Wednesday night withMatthew​ as our waiter. He was phenomenal! Great recommendations & the food did not disappoint. We had the Reuben & smash burger. We came back the next night with a friend as they were playing the Nuggets game. Coincidentally, Matthew greeted us & placed is in Dave's section. He was wonderful & had recommendations on the drink & food menu. This time we had crispy tacos, Nashville chicken sandwich & BBQ bacon burger. All were spot on!
