    Air drying

I bought my hair earlier this month and have had my bundles in since November 11th. This is the WORST hair I have ever had. I've bought hair from beauty supply stores that have last me longer than this. The shedding is RIDICULOUS I have to clean my brush after I brush my four part section hair after every section! I straightened it with a heat protecting spray and only used heat up to 300 and the ends have became straggly, fried, stringy, it feels like wool. Over all my whole head of hair feels stiff. It doesn't move. It's gets so knotted and tangled I have to wash it just to brush it. This was my Christmas present to myself. I'm sitting here in tears bc I absolutely hate the hair. I've read so many good reviews about this company and I am beyond disappointed to have such terrible quality hair in my head. I purchased Peruvian blonde

First, I absolutely loveeeeeeeee my hair extensions! I am the type to drop 300-1200 just on my hair. So I absolutely love the location. I just moved to California and I am soooooo happy I found this place. I needed a bundle to make a ponytail for a quick weekend style. The owner was super friendly, I told her my vision for my hair and she literally gave me exactly what I wanted. -I ended up getting a 16 inch, I believe the curl pattern was Mongolian curl. I may be wrong but I've never heard of the curls pattern before. So on first glance at the hair I was like ookkaay, I don't know about this. First off, I never get curly hair from any vendor. Second, the ends where kinda nappy and the hair was kinda stiff together if that makes any sense. But she ensured me once I combed it out, opened the bundle then the curls would fall and I would fall in love. Soo that right there sealed the deal. The least I could do is try.. (I mean I know I'm not the only one who has wasted money on "good hair") So I get home, open the bundle and smell the hair. Now if you know about hair then you know the real human hair, normally cuticle intact, good quality hair has a good smell. Like you know they took care of it. So that was a positive. Then I unraveled the bundle and the curls began to separate and fall instantly. I don't care what the hair pattern is, I do not put chemicals and products in my weave!!! Ever!! So I spritz the hair with purified water, combed it through and hung it up over night. This hair is all that and some! I wore it three days and I didn't have any shedding. At night I twisted it and secured the ends with a cloth hair band and covered it with my bonnet. It was all good. In the morning, I ran my fingers through and call it a day! Absolutely BOMB!

They are my "GO TO",They have the best quality discount bundles,I get my hair from these ladies when I wanna go long or short!!Located in a nice and sophisticated spot in the high rise buildings downtown Oakland,I recently purchased some Brazilian bundles which are absolutely beautiful, the last bundles I had lasted almost two years,I was able to color them into a honey brown with dark Browne streaks with no problem and I'm no pro..Love the ladies there and they offer discounts if you continue to bring business there!Liz is my #1 girl!!!

    I love my hair #Herimport

I love the ladies at HER Imports it was my first buying bundles and Elizabeth and Caitlyn were so helpful with all my questions. The location was perfect not far from bart and in a nice building. There office was nice and clean and bright. I would use them again when I need more bundles. I thought they were a bit pricey but from what I asked my friends they said that's a good price buy two bundles get the third one free spend 237.00 not bad.

A year & some change later, I still have the hair, after multiple installs, washes and styles, it's still shiny, full and bouncy

    Dry stringy ends.

Once you walk in, you know you're in a salon that is clean, well valued, and have a sense of serenity! The decor is also on point and there has never been a time that I've gone that the shop has been in a disarray. What shop have you ever been to that's always spotless and smell good at all times no matter how busy it is. Toni makes sure she takes pride in her brand and is a perfect example of her work! She is always put together and never makes excuses as to why her hair or appearance is a mess and she is always professional. This is why I was shocked to see the 1 star review that was left! I'm not a hairstylist, but I do have curly hair and know that my curly hair will never be bone straight with a relaxer. A relaxer is made to straighten your hair, but a good stylist is able to keep your hair healthy by keeping the integrity of your texture, especially when you want to add color. That is one thing Toni and I have discussed when she has colored my hair in the past. Her motto is healthy hair first! She is not one of those stylist that will put chemicals in your hair without you understanding what comes with the process. I love how she has taken care of my scalp; which has allowed my hair to grow and it's the healthiest it has ever been. No more shedding! No more flakes! No more dead hair! I have a beautiful full short cut with volume and she's even gotten my thin sides to fill in. I am thankful that Toni always puts her clients first, always reinvesting in her hair studio, takes the time to always educate her clients, and most recently have made major changes to incorporate COVID changes that proves she's not playing any games with our health nor hers!

After a year of having my Sisterlocks retightened by a "Sisterlocks Brand Ambassador" in Antioch,…read moreseveral rows of my locs in the back just broke off. The Brand Ambassador had no explanation of what was going on and had stopped taking my calls to make a new appointment. I did a Google search for hair loss specialists and found SANKOFA Braiding and Natural Hair Care in Oakland. Dr. O NanaEfua, owner and operator of SANKOFA is a Board Certified Cosmetologist, Trichologist and Holistic Health Coach, with specialized training and experience in hair loss and natural hair care, as well as a Sisterlocks Loctician. She knows her stuff! She is knowledgeable about how to treat and maintain our natural hair. I made a consultation appointment with her and was very impressed that she was able to diagnose my problem and recommend treatments to repair my locs. She restarted my broken locs and they are now growing beautifully. The treatments she recommended have given my locs new life. I would recommend any Sister having problems with her natural hair to schedule a consultation with Dr. O NanaEfua at SANKOFA. She is professional, knowledgeable about black hair care and truly cares about our hair and how it looks once we leave her practice. She also offers services that address different types of alopecia, hair loss caused by PCOS, all types of scalp disorders and hair loss caused by nutrient deficiency, medications and hormone imbalances. I am more than happy that I found SANKOFA and once again I am proud of my beautiful Sisterlocks.

Amazing quality-- not only the final product, but also my time spent in the chair…read more I had the pleasure of having my hair done by NanaEfuwa (Cynthia) today and was not disappointed. My lower back length Senegalese twists are all that I wanted-- and more. Upon arrival, we had a consultation where she took the time to patiently walk me through the process of understanding cost of the service as having three variables: 1) girth/size of braid (from micro to jumbo--she even has a standardized ring to help you decide), 2) length of the braid from the scalp (shoulder length, mid-back, etc.) and 3) density of the braids (how many braids will be placed in your hair given the other two variables). I had a LOT of questions--primarily how she would be able to make braids that were durable on hair that was recently tapered and less than an inch long in some parts. After ensuring I was happy with the intersection of what I desired and what was possible (as well as all feeling good about the price), we started the process. First, it was quite the visual experience watching her blend hair colors. From my description of "medium brown with light brown/golden tones", she took three different colors and started turning them together in her hands, personalizing my hair bundles. She said no two of her clients ever have exactly the same color-- what an unexpected delight! After having me approve of the final hair, she started braiding. I appreciate her checking in with me to ensure I was happy with a few test rows before reaching a point where it would not have been as easy to pivot (she didn't need to change anything, but I appreciate the question). I also benefitted greatly from the stillness offered in her salon. I closed my eyes and enjoyed silence (even nodded off a few times), engaged in captivating conversation, stared at degrees on the wall and wondered "What happened to Julie?"** and watched a master beautician impart her knowledge onto the next generation through apprenticeship. Overall, I am so grateful a ChatGPT prompt for "low-tension braiders in the Bay Area" displayed her shop. NanaEfuwa specializes in taking care of the scalp and your hair (as well as your entire being), so in addition to using natural products, she utilizes specific techniques to hold the braid in slight counter traction to oppose the pull generated while braiding. Between me, NanaEfuwa or Una holding the braids at various times, the entire process was at most uncomfortable-- never painful. I wanted to write this review to thank NanaEfuwa and help others to make a great decision to reach out. I have found my Bay Area Braider and maybe even a new friend! **look at the two "Board Member" signatures on the degrees and compare 2018 to 2022. Of course, you have to book a service to sit in her chair to do so. You should. :-)

This was my first appointment here and I was with the Hair Stylist Danielle. The appointment was long but I loved the amount of care and effort she put into cutting my hair. I wasn't rushed or anything! I had the sudden urge to cut off all my hair into a bob after seeing my current hair in a picture of me in the sun... My hair was BAD .. I could see the color difference between my natural hair growing out and the old bleached hair that I dyed a chocolate brown. I was panicked when I saw this in my picture... It was literally looking at two separate people's hair. YIKES.. Danielle saved the day! I usually have a tough time finding a good stylist but I'm glad I trusted Danielle with this transition from long to short hair. I've never cut my hair this short .. but I was happy about the results!! She did so well!! I loved it! I'll be back soon for a trim!! Glad I found BIBO Salon! Danielle saved the day!
