Our 2013 Kenmore LG refrigerator stopped working. PORA recommended 5 repair companies. We called one, who came promptly but could not fix the problem. He had a recommendation for us, though, and phoned Herb's Appliance Service on our behalf. Jennifer answered and soon called us to say that Brian (the late Herb's son) could come in 20 minutes. When Brian arrived, he diagnosed the problem: a malfunctioning compressor. Repair would cost as much as $1300. Another option would be to move the refrigerator out to the sidewalk; someone would take it away. Option 3 was to remove the refrigerator and exchange it for the older, smaller Kenmore which we had in our laundry room. As we wondered aloud who we could ask to move the refrigerators, Brian stated that as it happened, he had room in his van and could haul it away. Soon its doors were removed and out went the fridge. Brian returned, removed the doors of the old fridge and moved it into the kitchen. His energy and competence and knowledge and communication skills are amazing! As if that weren't enough, he gave us tips for maintaining appliances and entertained us with stories about his tortoise, Marley, and much more. The bill for all this work was very reasonable. We feel so fortunate for having found Herb's Appliance Service and wholeheartedly recommend this company. Two weeks later, Jeff from Herb's Appliance Service came out to our home to fix a light switch in the refrigerator. I called today for an estimate to repair my Samsung washer. Jen quickly got the details from me on the problem, said that she would get with a technician and call me back. Within 15 minutes she called to let me know that it would be better to not repair it for the cost compared to buying a new one. She and a technician even gave suggestions for good brands for the new one. The honesty was something you don't see often anymore. It is so hard to know who will give you the correct service. I had used Brian for a fan repair on my induction stove, it was squealing loudly. He first tried to rescue the fan but it was not operating properly, I could see that. This was prior to Covid. Still working great. He ordered the part and installed at a proper cost. Now I needed my dryer vent cleaned. Call Herb's and in a couple of days sent out Ken to clean the dryer vent. It was a reasonable price. He pulled out the dryer and properly cleaned the vent. There are some bad reviews but I am sure that they are telling the full story and I guess everyone makes a mistake once in a while . I wholeheartedly recommend Herb's. Awful! Everything about my experience was awful. No communication whatsoever. Waited for weeks on end for my dishwasher to be fixed. Wasn't properly diagnosed the first time, then when it was the parts took forever. We have been waiting since November to get it fixed. It is March now. Then they quit. I had asked for an appraisal for electrical work and by the time "Herb" called I had already contacted another service. I told them I was scheduled for service, but if they wanted to review the work needed I would delay the other contractor. After their inspection, I was told they would need to check something and then call me back with a final estimate in about 20 minutes. I had already canceled the other company. I kept my line open despite the fact I needed the phone so after a few hours, I called them and left a voice mail expressing the need for the quote and my holding all other calls. I am very satisfied with Herb's Appliance Service. My Samsung induction oven was not functioning properly and Brian (the owner) came and repaired it. He first tried to save me some money by resurrecting the misfunctioning fan but had to order the motor from Samsung. He was prompt, fairly priced and pretty fast worker. I originally called Samsung and got a reference from them for Service Quick repair. They totally messed up. I got a ticket number from them and they told me to wait for the part to come in. I waited two weeks and when I called them the I was told that the service call ticket number was cancelled by someone on their staff. So they issued me a new ticket number and said they would call in a few days. In the meantime a neighbor recommended Herb's Appliance Service and he did a great job getting my oven working again. BTW I still not heard from Service Quick. Excellent service from Herb's! After I looked at this review they have my wrong address. I am located in Peoria AZ. read more

i called Herb's after trying to schedule a warranty repair with two other companies. He responded immediately to my voice mail. He texted me to let me know he was out of town for a couple of days and wouldn't be able to take a look at it until the end of the week. He did a little troubleshooting via text to understand the problem. He suggested a solution that worked. Most companies wouidn't have returned the call in two hours. Most companies wouldn't have attempted to solve the problem for the customer while they are on holiday out of town. Herb's just became my appliance repair company. read more

I would so loved to have left a good rating for this company which was recommended by an appliance company. The person who came out was very nice, looked at the dish washer and determined what the problem was. Part needed to be order and was going to be around $90.00. It has now been close to or over a year and we have not heard one word back from Herbs. They figured it would take a couple of weeks to get the part. HOLD ONTO YOUR WALLET I contacted Herb's appliancve and informed them te spring in my refridgerator was broken.  I visited you tube and I watched the tutorial how to replace the broken spring. I deceided  to use Herbs.  I spoke with Jenn and told her the spring was available on Amazon. The  springs cost were approximately $9.00.  I showed the repairman what needed to be replaced. The spring was easy to remove and replace. The spring percormed as a spring should. The service was no more than 10 minutes. I was charged $24.00 for a $9.00 spring.  The charges came out too $152.00. That leaves $128.00 for a 10 Minute service. We were informed if this was a diagnostic the charge would have been $60.00  I diagnosed the problem my self. I wrote a letter to Herb's son Brian without the courtesy of any response.  That is why I am forced to write this negative review. These people give great service!! The second refrigerator/freezer we have in our garage stopped working yesterday. We called Herb's yesterday morning, Brian came a couple of hours later and immediately diagnosed the problem. Because the unit was older he couldn't get parts until today. Herb's Appliance & Home Repair Services - 602-405-8345. It's a father and son business and Brian (son) came to do the jobs we needed done. He was quick, efficient and knew what he was doing. They don't do a "by the hour" rate, but rather by the job or jobs that you want done. We had a long list with a few big jobs (ceiling fan installed, garage light fixture installed, changed out overhead kitchen light fixture in a 12 foot ceiling, along with the smaller jobs). Brian did all this within a two hour window. He even suggested a few very good ideas that we hadn't thought of. read more

Our refrigerator was not keeping cold, and the ice would begin to melt. I would tap on the fridge, and it would start working again (for a while). After calling Herb's Appliance, their technician, Brian, identified the problem immediately as the thermostat.
