This is a second review ... or maybe a third.. We have used Frost for a few problem appliances throughout the years. When the dishwasher had a whole lot of water in the bottom that wouldn't drain.. well.. great.. just what I need. I live on a second floor apt and I'm very sensitive -overly sensitive to any water that may leak and cause damage to units below me so the anxiety just increases when dealing with water. We have called Frost before and thankfully when we called Wednesday they put us on their schedule for today, Friday. They had all our history, phone numbers, email, everything which made things pretty quick to schedule. They gave us a window of when to expect them and today I received a text with a feature to track how close my technician was to arriving. I also received a call when he was 10 minutes away. My tech's name was Aaron and thankfully he knew exactly what was the problem with my dishwasher. He fixed it, then took the time to show me how to keep it from happening again in the future. He was friendly, professional and provided exactly what we have come to expect every time we have called Frost; consistent, excellent service. The price was just for the service call, nothing extra which was great. I've learned you can never rely on just a friend or a neighbor to come by an "take a look" in order to do you a favor when it comes to the stuff in your home. I've learned not to waste my time, money or put my home or neighbors home in danger by not getting professionals the first time around. The peace of mind I have in knowing that I can call Frost and trust them when one of my appliances break down is priceless. I appreciate Aaron for his time today! Thanks!! read more

Aaron was very clear in explaining what he had done (gas dryer, smell of gas by owner), suggestions of additional repairs if needed, and if I had any further concerns to please call the office. He was very thorough and professional, and we realized he had been here before for another appliance. I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and even the fact that he had been here before made me feel more comfortable in using Frost again knowing they have a trustworthy repairman. Terrible experience, unskilled technicians, they are running a scam. I was charged $97 for a technician to inspect my fridge which was not cooling. They were unable to diagnose what was wrong with my fridge and still charged me. They tried to schedule a follow-up appointment for 7 days out and then cancelled the day of and couldn't reschedule until another 7 days out. This left me without a fridge for 2+ weeks. I asked for a refund because they were unable to tell me how to fix my fridge but they declined. Overall very poor experience. read more

On the first service call, Brad unplugged and plugged the fridge back in, and checked that the compressor was again running. He said the fridge was blowing cold air once again and that the fridge just needed to be reset. The cost was $80. Unfortunately, it actually wasn't blowing cold air and remained warm all day and night. When my husband came home from work at midnight, he unplugged it so the warm air wouldn't blow any longer on the food remaining in the fridge -- we already had two coolers filled with our food and had to leave the rest in the fridge. Brad returned in the evening the next day and was immediately and visibly annoyed that the fridge was unplugged, repeating over and over and over again that all his customers leave their appliances plugged in. He kept repeating "you have to leave your appliances plugged in,. It's the only way we're going to know what's wrong. We thought you left the fridge plugged in" -- literally over and over and over again. Each time, I explained we unplugged it because it was running warm air, and we didn't want that blowing on the food that remained in the fridge. That might as well have gone in one ear and out the other because he just kept repeating himself. He said he'd still try a couple of things and in the meantime, my husband called to speak with him as he knew more about what he had tried and wanted to share it with him. I let them speak and afterwards, I said that I hoped my husband gave him further insight as he knew more than I did. He uttered some things that he thought might be the problem but continued to seem annoyed. I let him be and sat down in the living room with my daughter. My husband then asked me via text to ask him if he used a thermometer yesterday to check the temperature of the fri/freezer. I did just that -- simply asked him if he used a thermometer to check the temperature -- and that is when this man started going beyond annoyed to angry in a very unsettling way. He was saying he tried to save us money, and then instantly said, "you know what?! I think the problem is the board and the compressor and we will just quote you for that, and it's a very expensive fix! A very expensive fix! And we don't mind doing it for you!" But his words didn't match his angry demeanor. It was starting to sound aggressive and was an alarming change. And then out of nowhere he said, "You know what?! We don't want your business. Never call us again. I don't 'expect' disrespect." He was having a meltdown because I asked him if he used a thermometer to check the temperature of the fridge/freezer. I noticed in his reply to my first review that he also lied outright, saying I complained about him and his company. Not sure what realm of reality he resides in but not once did I even mention his company let alone complaim about them, nor did I once complain about him. I simply asked a question. His reaction wasn't only inappropriate, it was downright crazy. He wouldn't stop hammering away at me and that's when I told him he needed to leave as I was feeling harassed in my own home and was growing increasingly more uncomfortable. But even after repeatedly telling him to leave he would not stop speaking. He even took out his phone while also saying he needed to put his tools away. I told him to please stop using his phone and just leave. I had to leave to the back room and call my husband, placing him on speaker. I could hear the man continue to mumble. My husband told him to leave. He said he had to place tape on the wires to prevent a fire. My husband again said to leave everything and go. Eventually, thank God, he left, leaving our door wide open behind him. A horrible experience. read more

Family friendly business -- efficient and cost conscious company.

Don't waste your time. I had Frost Appliance out to look at my dishwasher and washing machine. It was one of the only companies I could find who serviced Bosch dishwashers. 2 techs showed up timely on the day of my appointment and I had no issues with them. However, the repair estimates I received after were laughable. $1200 to repair the Bosch dishwasher. $770 to repair the Samsung washing machine. There were 3 parts listed for the Samsung repair. I called Samsung to see what they sold the parts for directly, and discovered Frost Appliance was marking up the material costs 2x-3x what they sell direct from Samsung for. Don't waste your money hoping for an actual repair from Frost. read more

Horrible customer service. I cannot count the number of times I was interrupted and belittled while speaking to the receptionist regarding my frustrations; not once was I allowed to speak a complete sentence without being "Ma'am"ed and talked down to. She made me feel invalidated as a paying customer and, frankly, an adult. Last time I was talked to that way was probably by my kindergarten teacher. This woman has clearly never learned how to de-escalate a situation and has no business dealing with customer care. Even as I tried to tell her I am trying to verbalize my frustrations with her company, she promptly interrupts me with a "ma'am!" and proceeds to tell me "you already did." Ma'am's = 25 Complete sentences spoken = 0 The only thing I would like to thank her for would be getting ahold of American Home Shield quicker than I could and canceling their service with me. I am so pleased with this company! Great job, Eric! My refrigerator wasn't working properly. I have had bad experiences with appliance repair companies in the past, so I actually went to an Appliance shop to look for parts and see if I could fix it myself. I also priced refrigerators just in case I couldn't fix it. However, common sense prevailed and I checked in with American Home Shield to see if I could get someone over here under my home warranty. That was yesterday afternoon... Within minutes, I got a text from Frost Appliances and they arranged for someone to stop over today between 10 and 2. Lo and behold, at 10:20 their truck pulled up. Yay! Eric was pleasant, competent, professional, and got right to work. I told him I thought the gasket was shot. He said sometimes it's a lot simpler than that. And he was right. He found a simple fix by adjusting some of the hinges and told me how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Within 20 minutes my problem was solved. I would definitely call them again. I'm very pleased with the front office, the quick response, the tech who came and the results. Highly recommend them. I'm guessing the negative reviews may be due to one tech, because the man who came to help me at my home was awesome! read more

They are the best for appliance repair. Won't rip you off. If it's not fixable they'll tell you immediately. Have used them many times.

The scheduling woman, Annette, is extremely rude and unapologetic. When scheduling a time to come in to my home for an appointment, they did not provide the 30 minute call ahead they said they would. She then called to reprimand me for not being there and said that I was being irresponsible. I tried to let her know that I did not receive the 30 minute prior phone call even letting me know that the technician was going to be there. She told me I was wrong and refused to believe me. While the technician's service was neutral, the scheduling woman was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. read more

All of my appliances are older so it's very important to me that when I do need a repair, the company and staff realize the value in older, well made appliances. So when my 23 year old Kenmore washer started making incredibly loud noises, I immediately called them. Chad came out, diagnosed the issue, said he would order the parts. Then we discussed how well made older appliances were compared to the new ones which seem to be built for obsolescence as I walked him to the door. A week later he came back and fixed my machine. Everyone at this company is polite and very friendly. I am so glad to have a professional and knowledgeable company behind my older, but better made appliances. .I don't understand the negative reviews this company has been given. I have used Frost Appliance several times over a period of years and have always found them to be courteous, punctual and honest. The repairmen have fixed our refrigerators right. I have had other repair people come on our appliances that are on warranty and have not been satisfied with them. After our warranties are up, Frost Appliance is our "go to" repair company! Reliable, courteous, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. You cannot go wrong calling them. read more

Absolutely unbelievable. After carving out my whole morning and changing plans around to accommodate their 4 hour window, the service man that came to my house left after about ten minutes because he was scared of my dog. Who I had already locked up per his request! It was a complete and total waste of my time. Not to mention the ignorance of this "small business" because apparently the fact that my dog is a pit was the real problem. Which the idiot didn't even know till I told him! READ THIS REVIEW..... if you are willing to do the following: 1) support a local business 2) have a knack for bitter and angry women 3) take time of work... meaning a whole day of work 4) be on call and not do anything until they come to your home 5) be hung up on 6) PAY for crappy service... a lady from this 7 person office calls me in reference to a service that was schedule between 1-4 pm , this was per the property manager.. However there was a miscommunication between the business and the manager all I knew was it was between 1pm to 4pm. i was on my way to the house to take care of the issue .. Before i forget to mention this ... A lady calls me at 12:50 asking me how far was I from the home ... i answered give me 15 minutes (I was still thinking about the 1-4pm time slot) she then said you know this is not going to happen , the property manger this the property manager that ... this is ridiculous and you guys should've been there and went on and on and on and on ... and she was on my cars bluetooth on blast with my 11 and 9 year.... and i said well i apologize for that i will there as soon as possible.. then she said .. no... its not going to happen ma'am not today ... this is not going to happen ma'am .. she uses the word ma'am like she was to say *insert profanity here* , then i asked how can we resolve this maybe if we can work on rescheduling (first of all WHY am I as the consumer would be trying to make things work when she was standoffish to begin with? IDK maybe i am still hoping for world peace) ... and she was like ugh no I need to call American Home Shield and the owner I don't know this is ridiculous.. and I asked well can we get a time maybe for next week and then call us if its possible or not and she NO MA'AM I AM NOT GOING TO THAT all loud ..... and asked ... excuse me did I say something to offend you??? and here goes........SHE HUNG UP! i called back and she said YES I HUNG UP ON YOU and hung up again ! I was disappointed with the property manager and made sure he knew I felt, however Angry lady's action was uncalled for... wow ,now i know why some people pay a premium for larger companies ... since this will not be tolerated. When i read the review from Mollie C .... why am I not surprised? The following has been done: 1) filed an executive complaint with the BBB 2) a copy was sent to American Home Shield and the FTC , just in case this company tries to make a quick buck....and ask for the $75 deductible 2) a letter to Mr. Little , the owner and according to the grumpy lady on the phone he was the "technician" he that was waiting.... do I guess if the owner of the company is performing the service .. you need to bow down to him ... its like the president of the United states is doing you a favor and exempted all taxes due for you and your family....SCORE! this is the worst service I have received .. better yet treatment from a COMPLETE stranger. read more

Horrible - they damaged my appliance while fixing it and refuse to replace the part. They say they can bend it back into place and it will be just like new....REALLY? It wasn't bent at all until your tech came and broke it. Horrible customer service. I have to share my last few experience with Frost Appliance Repair. Having the oversight of several apartments in the central Phoenix area we have had our fair share of appliance failures. I am always pressed on what is better try and fix or just replace again. In the same week I had two separate washing machine failures. Both were acting in similar fashion. I called Frost Appliance Repair. After telling them of my problem and giving them a description of what they were doing they told me that many time it will be less expensive to just replace the machine. One of our machines I felt may be repairable. The second I was confident the transmission was out so they said send them a model number and they would let me know what the costs might be. I scheduled them to a service call on the the one I thought might have a chance to be repaired and the told me the second that I was pretty sure was bad would cost more than a new machine to repair. We scheduled the service call for the first machine. I received a call from the the repairman while he was at the location. He explained the problems he encountered and with that information I determined it would be better to replace that machine also. Another bonus for me is I did ask them if it can't be repaired would they be able to sell me a used machine that they had in stock. They told me that they have elected to not sell any machine but just focus on giving great repair service. The reason I am so happy with this company is they were right up front with me about their work policy and ethics. If they make a service call they charge for that. If the machine can be fixed they deduct the service call from the repairs, not add it in. And if they feel the cost is of repair is more than what I could buy a new one they will make that clear. In the end I had them make a service call at $80. They took the model number of or other machine and told me the costs to fix the transmission at no charge. With the information they armed me with I was able to go out and find a super deal on two new washing machines at a price that that was less then what a repair was and now I have a full factory warranty on the new machines. I will have added Frost Appliance repair to my list of preferred vendors and from now on they will be my first call to either talk with me about the problem or schedule a service call. Their service was awesome, and they saved me money. I am not sure why there are these other negative reviews. I found Frost by seeing one of their trucks in my area when I needed the help. Before I called them I did look them up on Yelp and read the reviews before I called. I approached them with caution because of the review but my experience was the polar opposite of what these reviews indicated. That is why they have earned 5 stars from me. read more

We have been using Frost for years for our home and business needs and we love them!! They are always great at getting us scheduled timely and if it's an emergency they get us in right away. This most recent time when I called she wanted to be sure I had the best technician for the type of washing machine I had. Chad was here and determined the problem quickly and thankfully the part was only $30. They even did what they could to get the part in and back to my house to fix it before Thanksgiving. I was given a time frame for arrival of my service repair man. Chad called about 20 minutes before arrival, and was at my front door in a short time after the call. READ before you waste your time and money. These people will claim they have fixed your appliance and make it worse, costing more money for them to now fix the "new problem." Sometimes they will come back and do a free service call, but that's only after you have just paid for an unsuccessful service and complain. Annette ( I think she is the main receptionist) can be very rude and unprofessional at times. I would say about 50% of the time. I will never waste my time and money with frost appliance. I'm sure there are much more reputable and honest appliance companies out there. read more

I called Frost Appliance because our refrigerator blew out. They saved me a ton of money by diagnosing the blown compressor on the phone, as I knew it would not be worth it to spend the money replacing the compressor. They were honest and could have ripped me off. I would trust this company to be honest in the future, which is what I look for in any kind of mechanic. read more

Responded to phone calls promptly, was able to diagnose the cause of my refrigerators problems over the phone, gave advice on how I could fix it myself, then came to my house to repair it when it was determined it would need a new part. We have been using Frost Appliance Repair for at least 20 years. More than once they have told us over the phone a particular appliance is not worth the money to repair, and have suggested a couple of places we could get good replacements. Our latest call was on a Costco washing machine, Chad was out on the next business day and called ahead of time to give me an estimate on when he would be there. Our guest let him in, he fixed the washer and let me call him later with payment info. I'm not a wild eyed environmentalist, but our consumer based society needs to put more emphasis on repairing things and keeping them out of the landfills. We've probably saved hundreds of dollars on credit card interest alone by calling 602-25 FROST---as advised so long ago by Barry Young on talk radio. This is a great, local, environmentally sound, family owned, honest, reliable business and I hope we can use them for the next 20 years! read more
