I wish there was a negative star button because I would give -5. Heritage Body Shop is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever dealt with. I received a voicemail from one of their employees cursing at me and calling me out of my name--completely unacceptable behavior under any circumstances. To make matters worse, they lied and claimed they had been sending me emails that I "ignored," which was not true. They had the wrong email address on file, yet somehow tried to blame me for their own mistake. As a government employee I expect a basic level of professionalism and accountability--neither of which this place has. When I reported the abusive voicemail to the office manager, she flat-out lied and said her employee did not curse me out and insult me . I then played the voicemail for her, and she heard every single curse word and insult herself. Instead of apologizing or addressing it, she stood there in silence, completely ignored the behavior, and skipped right over it to focus only on her concerns. No accountability. No professionalism. No respect. This shop clearly tolerates and defends disgusting behavior from its staff. If you value basic decency, honesty, or being treated like a human being, do not bring your business here. I brought my Toyota Camry to Heritage Toyota in Owings Mills, Maryland at the end of November for what I thought would be a straightforward repair of the fender and wheel. The headlight was intact but just needed realignment due to damaged internal brackets. Heritage initially provided an estimate of $3,365.62, which my insurance company covered. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. Later, I was informed that they were short $500-600 and expected me to cover the difference. When I refused and tried to get my car back, they told me I'd be charged for storage and transportation to their city facility in Baltimore, and that my car was already disassembled. It was a helpless feeling, knowing my car was held hostage, with mounting charges I never agreed to. Weeks passed, and I learned the repair costs had ballooned. I was told the parts would only be available aftermarket unless I paid an additional $1,100 for genuine Toyota parts and an extra $1,200 to fix the rear bumper, which was damaged at the dealership. I reluctantly agreed to these terms. After extensive discussions, my insurance covered an additional $3,796 to fix everything, including the bumper and OEM parts. However, the total repair costs escalated to $7,162, with my insurance eventually covering the additional expenses after numerous discussions. During this time, my insurance also canceled my rental coverage due to Heritage claiming they weren't working on my car. Two weeks later, I received a call stating my car was nearly ready, but they needed yet another $1,100 for genuine parts installation and $1,200 for the rear bumper, on top of the $7,162 already incurred. This brings the total to nearly $10,000 for repairs on a car that might not even be worth that much! I felt completely overwhelmed and betrayed. To add to the frustration, my car ended up at Heritage Body Shop in Baltimore without my consent. I urge others in Maryland to avoid Heritage of Baltimore body shop or repair facility. Please protect your rights and contact the Maryland Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division. Their actions are a clear pattern of deception and extortion that should be investigated by the FBI for fraudulent insurance charges. like several other reviews, I had similiar horrible experience. Worked with a cust svc person who was an older female and very grumpy. Brought my car in after a hit and run. After taking my front bumper off only, they determined I had $5800 in repairs. Insurance would not pay that amount as this auto body tries to force you into new parts after the fact or they refuse to repair the car. insurance company refused all new parts were needed. The older grumpy cust svc rep told me I would need to pay an additional $1700 out of pocket. I was obviously upset and decided to take the car about 2 miles away to another body shop. When I went to pick up the car at Heritage I was told it would be $1500 charge for Heritage taking off the front bumper for an estimate which their own estimate to the insurance company to remove that bumper was no more than $200. They held the car hostage on me unless I paid. They then stuffed all the parts into the back of the SUV and parts were missing when I moved it. I moved the the car to Dynamic Collision and no out of pocket required. The arrogance of Heritage and terrible service led me to write this review. I would never ever recommend going to Heritage. Many reviews here with the same experience. Your chances of getting screwed are very , very high. Oh and the Heritage gumpy cust svc rep told me it was all decided by her manager to charge me that much to get my car back. read more

After not having my car for 3 months, 2 weeks of which they waited to finally agree to taking the adjustment my insurance offered, I finally got it back after having to argue with the body shop to agree to release it. Not only did they ask for double payments they tried to add more onto towing costs and labor for things they did not do. The only saving grace was the general manager Roger that actually did some work to get to the bottom of everything so I only needed to pay my deductible after having to pay for my own rental car for 2 of the months. If you need body work done I adamantly do not recommend Heritage Body Shop of Baltimore on Caton Avenue. Find somewhere else to take you car. Had my car towed here as the nearest Toyota branded service center. My battery light had been on for a while. Took it to another mechanic who recharged the battery and said "the light might come on again in which case it's your alternator." Well, it did come on again, and before I had a chance to make it to the appointment I had scheduled, my car died. So, I had it towed here. Overall I think my experience was just fine. I don't know much about cars so not an expert. They had to keep it about 5 days so I got a rental from the on-site Enterprise, which is a convenience (pay out of pocket for this.) 5 days consisted of two wknd days, plus time for diagnosing, ordering, waiting on and finally installing parts. I did end up needing my battery and alternator replaced but also they recommended other routine maintenance that hadn't been kept up to date (i only really go on for oil changes and hadn't been to a toyota service center for years) like spark plugs and such. They also have a body shop that I got a quote from for some work- though I will day the people at the service center were much less...rude than those at the body shop. Anyway, I won't be getting anything done there. I did have to come back (as expected) 2 days later for some more work because more parts had to be ordered. Initially they said 2 hours, then when I dropped it off said more like 4 hours..which I balked at because I had planned on the original time estimate and had to be at work. So they did kindly comp a rental car for me this time- AND ended up doing it in 2 hours anyway! Shortest rental ever. Overall, I would go back. read more

The left front fender of my new Toyota Camry popped partly off. It looked like I could snap it back on, but I did not dare, because I could not see why it popped off and did not want to damage something. I went to Heritage for an estimate. The service rep came out and looked at it and snapped it right back on. He said I had probably bumped into a parking block or similar. I asked how much the charge was. He said "No charge". I hope I never need body work done, but, given their customer service, if I do I know I will come here! ALERT: Lesson learned. They have two locations. Heritage Mazda Catonsville put over 200 miles on my car while they had it for a month. They told me I drove 360 miles in 10 days even though I telework 100%. I stay close to home because of Covid. My car needed a door replaced for an accident. When I first brought it in I was told by the receptionist when I asked how long it would take, she immediately said if the parts don't come in damaged just a week or two. Nationwide was paying for my car and rental. The first week the bodyshop told them the part came in damaged so they had to reorder it. Each week the same story was told to Nationwide of delays. The bodyshop never logged my actual miles when I brought it in they put the miles from the insurance quote. When I picked it up they claimed they took a picture of the mileage and manipulated the date to the drop off date. But it was the date they finish the work and parked it. When I noticed the difference between the two mileage and the fact that my odometer was preset of which I never use, and the functional controls were changed it was then that I knew they were driving my car. I came there with 9K miles on my 2017 Tacoma Sport Access Cab and 6 Soren manual transmission. Problem was droning harmonic whine in 5th & 6th gear. I was skeptical and thought my problem would be not dealt with. Steve the service co-ordinator listened to me. This is not my 1st standard shift. He put me in a loaned car after the tech found a Toyota service bulletin pertaining to me problem. In less then one day I had my truck back with no more noise. This review is ongoing. EVERYTHING these ppl are saying is correct! This place is the worst shop experience I've ever had. Tammie is very rude and never returns calls. It has taken 2 months to fix some from end damage on my bmw. I finally get it back and beyond my fog light malfunction alert comes on the evening of the I picked up the car. How does a shop suppose to fix something and the problem still persists. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! Now I have to deal with these ppl even more after a long stressful 2 months. Just to fix my fog light that doesn't come now which they were suppose to fix. Not to mention they gave the car back which black grease all over the driver and passenger door. This is the worse place I could have ever taken my car to. I should have listen to the tow truck guy as he was leaving my vehicle there. He stated he has never heard good things about this place but I had oil changes that were fantastic. I had no idea the auto body shop was the most unprofessional and unorganized place ever. Ms. Betty barely works there or communicates with the customer. She is rude and unprofessional and has no idea what she is doing. They do not return phone calls and attempt to blame it's the insurance fault. Although the insurance has paid them so what are they doing??? Purchased a brand new 21 Outback that had 210 miles on it. "High" mileage was explained as transporting vehicle from origional location in PA to MD. Dealer (Frederick Subaru) failed to disclose that the vehicle had been taken to an autobody shop in Baltimore, where the hood was previously repaired. Heritage Body Shop (which is a larger area dealership that also sells Subaru's), who told me about the repair, which I was very surprised to hear about, as Frederick Subaru never mentioned it at the time of purchase. Frederick allegedly had NO record of this repair done on their vehicle (they had possession of it at the time of the repair). When I initially told Frederick Subaru about this repair, they flat out denied it ever happened. I told them Heritage gave me a paper indicating the repair. They told me to bring in the paper. I toild them to call Heritage to confirm. They refused, so I called Heratige in their presence, who confirmed the repair over speakerphone (which took place approximately six weeks prior to my purchasing said vehicle), but while Frederick had "ownership" or posession or "the certificate" of my vehicle. Frederick's service manager Pat, then stated they did not own the car at that time, they did not know about the repair which is why they failed to disclose it to me at the time of purchase among other implausible excuses. I already had some issues trusting this dealership when they kept my vehicle overnight for no reason as they did not even touch the car nor repair it-why they felt a need to keep my vehicle overnight is still a mystery to me. My vehicle was tampered with while in their posession and some items went missing. In addition, whomever drove the car 210 miles before I purchased it had pre-programmed the vehicle with a very vulgar, sexual message that would show up on the vehicle display screen, along with the radio stations that person programmed into the vehicle. I thought this was a good, honest dealership, the vehicle purchase went pretty well (for a vehicle purchase) and the salesman (Tyler) seemed nice overall. Unfortunately, the service manager's negative attitude, defensiveness, dishonest denial of the repair and then implausible explanation of the hood repair, as well as Heritage Subaru of Catonsville refusing to even give me details of the repair and the service/repair person's name, gave me great pause. I do not trust Frederick Subaru, as they mislead me and sold me a "BRAND NEW" vehicle that had an undisclosed hood repair, for undisclosed damage to this new vehicle, a vulgar sexual message embedded into the vehicle's computer system and then made all kinds of defensive and false explanations, and was basically not pleasant to deal with, nor did he seem honest. He told me he goes to church, as if that is reason to trust him for selling me a damaged, repaired "new" vehicle. Pat was extremely defensive, and seemed untrustworthy. If I wanted a vehicle that had to have its hood repaired, I would have purchased a used vehicle, and certainly would not have dropped close to 40k for this vehicle. This car was sent from Frederick MD to Baltimore MD to have undisclosed damage repaired. To add insult to injury, the body shop they used has a horrible reputaiton and terrible reviews. I paid close to 40k for a vehicle that had been repaired, and the repair was never disclosed to me nor was vehicle discounted for the repaired damage. I am no longer comfortable using Frederick Subaru for service, and honestly would like to return the damaged and repaired vehicle, to them and find a more honest and reputable dealer to get another vehicle from. The managers at this dealership are not very pleasant, (Ashley is another one who was not the most pleasant either). I no longer feel they are honest, trustworthy or professional-especially on the service end. Sad as they are close by and convenient. Perhaps it is time to ditch the Subaru all together and get another Toyota. Yet another dishonest dealership (like so many) in the area, to add to the list. Even this small, "family owned" dealership puts profits over customers, and deception over honesty. VERY DISSAPOINTED. Heritage also seems like a shady operation, refusing to priovide details of the repair of whom repaired it. Pat, the Frederick manager was texting them right before I called them-so perhaps he told them to not disclose this infornmation to me. Heritage has terrible reveiws, and a very bad reputaiton. They seem even more unprofessional and dishonest than Frederick Subaru. Looks like Heritage Body shop and Fredrick Subaru already worked in kahoots to repair a brand new vehicle for them and pass it off as "new", selling it to unsuspecting customer (myself). The service department was great, quick quotes, transparent with what parts were needed and the prices and quick turnaround. I have a BMW I took it to the my service shop and they transported it down to Russel collision. My shop told me they were a BMW certified collision center. I looked the shop up on Yelp and was a little nervous with all the bad reviews I saw, so I called the shop to express my concerns. The advisor my car was assigned to was Tom, he told me he also had seen the reviews. Tom informed me that management has changed and they were in the process of making changes to correct the problems. Tom made me feel at ease so I decided to keep my car there. I was extremely happy with the results.Not only did he keep me informed the whole time but I got my car back and it looked great. I would definitely use Russel collision again if I'm in another accident (heaven forbid). read more

I would give this place no stars if I could. They took 4 weeks to repair my car, which was supposed to take two weeks. The car was sideswiped, so a mirror and a rear quarter panel needed replacement, and one of the doors needed some paint work. There is no reason this job should take four weeks. This place is terrible. I had to go here because I was in an accident and needed to get an estimate from an accident I had been in. I arrived 5 minutes early, checked in, and was told to sit in the waiting room. 25 Minutes later, I checked to see what the status was in my appointment. The guy who was doing the estimate was just sitting at his desk eating lunch. He told the guy at the front desk that he was still working on a prior estimate. I get it, people can run behind, but this was too much. The only thing organized about this place was the Enterprise rental place inside. Worst garage I have ever dealt with. ALL OF THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE 100% CORRECT! I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM NEGATIVE STARS! Got in a fender bender on 3/23. Airbags went off, no other damage besides front bumper slightly pushed back. I chose this garage because someone from my insurance company told me they had an adjuster there on site. Horrible decision. It is now April 7th and I have been given the following stories and timelines: March 24: Your parts are ordered and the car will be done by early next week! In the middle of the next week after hearing nothing I call back, get the run around trying to get ahold of the correct person (Marie), finally talk to her and am told that oops, we ordered the wrong bumper. The one that came doesn't have airbag sensors and yours needs airbag sensors. We got it re-ordered. In the meantime they will do all the trim work, reinstall the airbags and replace the headliner. It will probably be Wednesday of next week now. Spoke to an insurance adjuster, found out that the bumper does not have airbag sensors in it, that was a lie. Monday April 9th, I call back to see what the status is since I have a feeling they will be coming up with a new excuse. BINGO! Oh sorry, the bumper is painted, but we had to order new front grilles, they were damaged, they are coming in today. We also have to put in the airbags and that takes about one business day. Tuesday April 10th, I call back again to see what the status is, knowing they will have a new excuse. BINGO AGAIN! The bumper is painted, we have to install the airbags and do all the trim work and replace the headliner, hopefully EARLY NEXT WEEK. (Accident March 23, New Estimate: April 16-18.) At this point I went nuts and said this makes no sense, all of these parts and labor items were on the original estimate before it ever got to you, I read it myself. You keep giving me new stories every time I talk to you. Response: "Did you have an issue? Whats your issue? Are you in a rental car? Whats the issue?" I said the issue is you are giving me the run around and keep coming up with new excuses for why my car isn't done and every single excuse contradicts the last one, this is exactly what all your reviews online say: You constantly push back the completion date by weeks and weeks for no good reason. At this point, Marie was miraculously able to have a new goal of the car being done by the end of business tomorrow. We will see what happens tomorrow, I am not optimistic that the car will be done. At this rate my 30 days of rental car coverage is going to run out. read more

After a bad day(Saturday) at Russel's Caton Av., I informed management of my experience and they asked me what can we do to make this right? They then proceeded to correct the issue at no cost to me, I was so relieved and just thankful that someone cared enough to respond to me so fast and with a solution that was perfect for me. A bad experience can be turned around, if brought to the attention of the right people. Don't just walk away let someone in management know when you are having a problem with services you receive in there place of business. I did and now I know if there is every a problem I do have options, I expected something better then what had occurred, and I got it. but it did not last a week! Worse than one star!!! Took my car here at the end of November. Told me it would be done in two weeks at most. Car sat there without even getting an estimate until I called a bunch of times. Had to drive a rental for over a month. Then non stop issues between them and the insurance company, even though I had ZERO problems when I actually got a hold of the adjuster. They kept requesting more and more money from my insurance. I had a cinder block thrown through my window which damaged the door and seat. Im no mechanic but the total came up to over 8k and that seems a bit excessive. Upon getting my car I find out the seat has to be ordered and it will take a month or month and half. But the worst thing is the new paint job and tint. The tint had to be replaced because it was peeling after a few days. The paint job... Dust particles everywhere, DROPS of PAINT dried on the doors and fender. Keep in mind that this is a 2012 BMW X5. I still owed the shop $250 deductible. Was HARASSED by the receptionist girl for days to pay the money, even though their customer service and wait times were 100x worse. Told that they would fix the paint when I came in to get the seat cover installed. This was at the end of December. Fast forward to April and I HAD TO CALL MYSELF to find out the seat has been sitting there for a while. Finally come in to get the seat cover and the shop will pay for my rental. I get everything "fixed" in two days because they actually have an incentive to hurry up. I get my car and even though they did buff out alot, the drop of paint and a TON of dust particles are still there. Completely half assed job. I point out the paint drop and they get it out, leaving the mess of dust particles under the paint ALL AROUND. Cant wait to get out of there so I leave. On the drive home I see a RIP in my door leather which 150% wasnt there before. When they were installing the seat they ripped the door. At this point I dont even want to go back there and point anything out lest they try to charge me or my insurance more money. DO NOT GO HERE ! PS The GM Chris Booker was as helpful as he could have been. Seemed to try his best to resolve my problems WHEN I BROUGHT THEM. I came in for an oil change about a week ago, and ignoring the fact that it took 2 hours WITH AN APPOINTMENT, several items and cash were stolen from my car. They had no value, so of course I wasn't thinking that anyone would actually be stupid enough to take things from my cup holders and adjacent areas. They are items that have been in my car for well over a year and some had sentimental value. At first I didn't even think about the oil change, I noticed they were missing the next day and I thought they had fallen on my floor somewhere. But after inspecting my car thoroughly, they are no where to be found. Like I said, they have no value and I'm not interested in compensation, I just wanted to let y'all know that you suck and I wouldn't return to this establishment even if there was a zombie apocalypse and it was the only shelter left on the planet earth. I had this 18 year old kid hit my truck and my insurance company recommended them, well my father told me he took his truck there and that they do great work. Jump ahead a little they told me my truck would be ready by first week of December and I took it to them at the beginning of November. I got a call to pick it up by the second week in December and the price they told me was totally different than what was quoted. I had to be to work at 9am so I called my mother to ask her to take me to pick up my truck and the woman behind the counter got real nasty when I questioned about the difference. She snatched the folder out of my hand and said we had to wait for someone else to help us it took them 10 mins and I told them I had to be to work in 20 mins and that I needed someone to rind me out so I can get my truck and go to work. I wish I could give negative stars. I brought my BMW here after being in an accident that caused front end damage. After having the car for over 6 weeks and being called twice because they "lost my car", I finally got it back. After getting home I noticed that the hood didn't look closed and all the sensor lights came back on while driving home so I called to let them know their work was not done to my satisfaction and they needed to fix it. They agreed to fix it so I took my car back to them. While the car was in the shop I received a message from Jim asking where my owners manual was because they needed to know where they could find the fuse box...ummm, they're supposed to be BMW certified mechanics...why would you need my manual to find the fuse box? I called and let them know where they could find the fuse box and listing of fuses and received 2 additional calls stating that I was incorrect...but I wasn't because I took one of the fuses out so i know its in the glove box. After getting the fuse box issue resolved I received a call stating that a clockspring was broken which was what caused my horn to go off consistently when I was driving and that it wasn't caused by the accident even though the sensor was on after the accident...and they would charge me $500 to fix it. I contacted another BMW mechanic who busted out laughing and said a clockspring would never cause the issues I was having. At this point I decided I would just go pick up my car and take it to the other place...when I got there they tried to get me to sign off on all the paperwork before seeing my car...well I know why...when I went out to my car the horn was going off...EVERY sensor light was on my dashboard, my windows would not go up and the windshield wipers would not shut off (it wasn't raining outside either). Needless to say, I refused to take my car, contacted my insurance company and had to have my car towed to the other shop. I'm not sure what they did but I drove my car there and after the "looked" at it, it was in non-drivable condition. I will NEVER take my car to any Russel affiliated shop and will not recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an accident and State Farm said Russel was a certified center so I chose them even though it was an hour from my home. Long story short they had my Mercedes for over a month, they tried to get me to pay for service outside of the insurance company, gave me a car that had compound residue on my seats and carpet AND my windows didn't go up or down anymore. So in a second visit to fix my windows they scratched my tint. They said they would pay for it and did but then they put a claim into the insurance company for reimbursement which was shady because THEY scratched the tint so why should the insurance pay for their mistake? After all is said and done I had my car inspected and was told they did not put the quiet pads in my door, my window would go up but only with holding the button not the one touch anymore and my doors had to be readjusted because they would only close if you slammed them. This place was criminally awful. Please watch out with getting anything done here. My window got broken as a result of leaving my car here. I was told that they it was due to regular wear & tear and it will cost me over $600 to get it fixed. They are not going to be responsible in repairing anything else with the vehicle and it is my lost. At first they tried to give me the car back with the window broken and not even mentioning that they broke it. all my work for my car has been done by a certified BMW dealership. I have been given the greatest serve at other places. This place is the worst ever in my 15 years in owning a BMW. PLEASE PLEASE be careful. Getting your vehicle repaired request trust. I went to the service department at Canton Avenue on Saturday December 9th that's where I like to go and normally when I go there everything goes great this time it is a little difficult cuz the guy that was waiting on me he asked me did I wanted to use my maintenance Care Plus service that I just purchased and get a discount on the services I was coming in to get which didn't make sense because I was due for my last six month check up with the two year of the Toyota Care it was in the computer but I guess he was just trying to get a couple of dollars because he going to ask me did I want to use a paid service when I still had one free service which didn't make sense then I had to remind him the last time I was there we discussed when I come back in December that I was going to get my last free 6 months you can have that service in my free oil change and I will also purchase the extended plus care for the maintenance for the $299. I was really unhappy with the service that I received hopefully when I go back in 6 months things will be better read more

I took my new BMW for minor collision damage repair because they were listed as a factory-certified collision repair facility for BMW. They gave me an estimate that they explained as inclusive of stripping the paint and repainting the entire bumper. When I picked up the car I found the other side of the bumper was damaged and such damage wasn't there when I dropped it off. I told them that they damaged the other side of the bumper when they took it off and that they should take responsibility for repairing it. They refused. Then I asked them to honor what they stated when they made the initial estimate about painting the entire bumper. They refused to do that too stating that the cost of repair (approximately $900+) was too small for covering a full stripping and repainting of the whole bumper. I discussed this matter with the facility's manager in the presence of the person that made the initial estimate but they all in the end declined to help me and I left their shop after having paid for repair on one side of the bumper and having a new damage on the other side that they made and refused to repair. read more

My wife and I bought a brand new Jeep this year...Two weeks in to owning it, someone decided to leave their shopping cart out at Home Depot which blew across the parking lot and plowed in to the side of our car leaving a decent sized dent in it. We went through our insurance company and they referred us here. We dropped our vehicle off to the shop on March 20th and here we are on April 18th and we just got it back after calling several times. Four weeks to repair a door dent!! A repair which should have taken 2 weeks at the very longest, went on for a month. They had our car longer than we've had our car. Every time we called, we get a different answer as to why it's not done, and the answer was "we should have it done by tomorrow". I have spoken to the management about this and expressed the need to have a more open and straightforward dialog with the customers about the status beyond "it should be done by tomorrow". I'm completely understanding of delays, things happen, however, real timelines are far more appreciated then constantly pushing back the completion date due to overlooked issues. read more
