We only use Lee Company for any home improvement project. They are awesome and very knowledgeable.

Lee Company advertises "straightforward pricing" and "no surprise fees," which implies customers should receive clear, upfront estimates. When a long‑time customer only learns about a substantial diagnostic fee after the technician arrives, that's a breakdown in communication and not consistent with those promises. It's reasonable to expect to be told the full structure (dispatch + diagnostic + separate repair quote) during scheduling so you can make an informed decision. I usually don't write reviews, but I am compelled to write this review today. I had a scheduled appointment for somebody to take a look at my home regarding electrical switches that were no longer working. The technician did show up, and I acknowledged the $79 dispatch fee. He came in and took a few pictures and then came back to me and told me I needed to pay an additional $255 for him to be able to find out what's wrong. This approach seems so absurd and ridiculous. Lee Company has never done so in all seven years that I've used them. This is the first time, and I'm very disappointed. They could've been much better in their approach. This gimmick here allows them to pad their wallets with both $79 and $255 all at once. What doesn't make sense is that after charging me this amount they would then tell me what it would cost to repair it. What if they tell me that the cost to repair it is $1000? So now I'm out $255 plus $79 if I choose not to proceed. Instead of utilizing these gimmicks, would it not just make sense for them to simply tell people when they're making the appointments that it's not just a $79 fee for dispatch, it's $79 plus $255 for them to actually look at what's going on? It is just sad and disappointing. I think you all should know before you call Lee Company for any work that this is what they are now doing. When I told the technician that I was going to write this review, he said he would just not even charge me the $79, which I don't really care about. I'm happy to pay this stupid $79, but I am so disappointed because it's a waste of my time. They could do better than that. read more

Needed to replace our residential air conditioning unit. Sales person came out promptly to quote a system, and the system was delivered and installed within three days of the original visit. Price was competitive based on other quotes, actually much less than a well known competitor (although I've seen slightly cheaper quotes mentioned by others). Techs that came out were very nice and very diligent. I had a couple of questions/concerns which they addressed and went out of their way to take care of for me. Needed some ductwork redone at the furnace/coils and the system ended up much quieter at the interior air intake in the living area. System was just installed but I'm quite happy with the results. Hopefully no issues as time goes on. I'm quite surprised by some of the negative experiences I've read here based on my experience. read more

I cannot recommend electrician Greg Stark and Lee Company enough. I was attempting to tighten light switches that were loose (thinking that you can do this from YouTube is not recommended, nor is any electrical work on your own..I learned a lesson) and due to loose wiring I actually received an electrical shock and had sparks flying and heard a pop and had to go to the ER to get an EKG and be checked out. I was worried to say the least, and in urgent need of professional help, worried for a possible electrical fire at home too. I called Lee Company , and despite the late hour and the distance they had to travel to reach my home (they drove 2 hours), they came at 10:30 p.m, were calming, professional, and empathetic to my stressful situation. They not only fixed the immediate hazard but also took their time, were kind, professional, took time to answer questions, went above and beyond, was very talkative, and it felt like having a knowledgeable friend over versus an electrician. Their expertise was evident as they quickly identified the underlying issue and corrected the wiring that caused my shock and replaced light switches as well as helped with other concerns I had (an outlet that had to be replaced, etc). This level of dedication and after-hours emergency response is rare. They turned a scary situation for me into a safe and secure one. If you need a reliable, expert electrician who genuinely cares about their clients' safety and peace of mind, look no further. I am highly thankful too of my initial phone call with the after hours customer service who sent Greg Stark out. She was so kind, kept me updated, made certain my concerns were heard in regards to why I needed service, made certain that I would be taken care of after hours by an electrician. We had significant rot on the frames of the front door and on the side door. This was a resin repair, requiring removing all of the affected wood, applying the resin patches, sanding them smooth, and painting to match. Had Lee Company install a smart thermostat for us, based on recommendations from others in the neighborhood. When I had a few questions before scheduling, the dispatcher/scheduler offered to get a tech on the phone for me to talk with. When one wasn't immediately available, said she'd call me back when a tech could talk, and they actually did call back timely. The tech offered clear helpful advice. Scheduled service, and tech showed up at the arranged time. Friendly, very knowledgeable, did an excellent job. He even made sure the site was completely cleaned up before finishing. Took 3 days to get a response then wants $80 to drive five miles for an estimate on two electrical outlets. Don't waste your time

It is my experience that they overcharge for their work, and they try to sell for service when there is no problem. They overcharged me for a water heater installation. I trusted them and failed to get another bid. They told me my water meter was leaking and gave me an estimate for a costly repair involving digging in my yard. I got a second opinion from Metro Water and also an independent plumber. Both said meter wasn't moving, so no leak, no visible water coming out. I am a senior and people think it's easy to take advantage of me. I will never use Lee Company again. read more

Simply the worst. Plumbing technician came over for our annual check-up, broke a pipe, flooded our basement with 1"+ of water and then tried to blame us for their mistake. Unethical, dishonest & caused us $15k to $20k in damages. ...and Drew, we have already had extensive discussions with your Operations Manager in Franklin who insists that this pipe broke simply by magical coincidence while your technician was inspecting it. Would appear that the technician would be described as a 'cause' in this case. If Lee Company doesn't show up to my house, my basement would not have flooded. Made an appointment several weeks / months ago for heater maintenance - late August / early September. Waited until our service date today from 12-2 Nov 3rd and of course they were a no show. Very unreliable and will not use them again . We have been without heat which hasn't bothered us until this last week where we have had temps in the high 20s to low 30s and no heat in our home. Do you think that they cared? NO- even speaking with a manager they said they had to focus on people without heat. Hello I've been without heat and we have an appointment dating back weeks / months. Residential contract means nothing: I pay Lee $150 per year/per unit for a service contract. When their tech arrived in Oct 2022 he did not clean mildew off the blower housing. Another tech arrives in Nov 2022 for a different reason and charges me another $150 to clean the blower housing. Yes, our technician was somewhat late, but he made up for his lateness by being thorough and taking the time to answer our questions. His name is Chris Horne, by the way. We like him so much that when our next inspection come up in the Spring (we have two a year, one for the AC system and one for the Heat system), we are going to ask if he is available. My son owns a restaurant in Massachusetts, he says very few people who really enjoyed the food and the service bother to write a Yelp Review. It's only the people who have an ax to grind. Over the years my wife and I have dealt with numerous HVAC companies. Lee Company installed our complete Trane System 4 years ago. Today, Ben Freeman who is the Senior Technician at Lee Company installed a new Evaporator Coil. Now I know some of you reading this review are wondering why a system four years old would need a new Evaporator Coil? Read closely.... The R410A Refrigerant runs at much higher pressures than the previous refrigerant it replaced. With that in mind, the industry had to redesign their systems including the thickness of the inner walls of the coils, due to stricter EPA Standards for efficiency. The thought behind this is that with thinner walls means more efficient transfer of heat. That may be true, but it also means more likely there will be premature leaks to develop - mainly where there are weld seams. That is exactly what happened to the original coil that Ben replaced. (Keep in mind too that now the R410A is being phased out.) Under warranty when the first coil ordered was damaged in shipping Lee Company, as courtesy to me and my wife, came out and "topped off" our leaking system to get us through the 8 day wait for a second new coil to be delivered. Usually, that is not done and I doubt any company would since the refrigerant is VERY EXPENSIVE. However, through no fault of ours or Lee Company, as a courtesy, they did take care of this for us. That, in of itself, tells you just what you need to know. After Ben completed the work, he also took very close and very clear pictures of his work and made a video verifying there were no leaks where he brazed the new fittings for the coil. In the process of prepping our home for sale, we needed to have a number of items repaired or replaced. We contacted Lee Company and asked to have an estimate prepared. (We also have a home "tune up" contract with them in which they visit 4 times a year to perform preventative maintenance; another good service.) They did, and after consideration, we hired them to do the work. The items ranged from cleaning and repairing the log-fireplace igniter, to replacing the pressure valve on our house water system, to fixing some broken vent tubes....just to show the range of repairs they are qualified to do- heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical.m And they guarantee results! Their technician, Devin, was polite, efficient, courteous, and congenial. He kept us informed about all the things he was doing (and why) and he did his work in a neat manner. We are extremely pleased and will very likely hire Lee Company to do the PM and repairs (hopefully few) in our new home as well. read more

They came through for me two separate times. Once I was desperate in the middle of the night because of being in a wheelchair and my toilet was clogged with too much paper. I couldn't believe how quickly they responded & that they were actually available in the middle of the night! And they didn't rip me off financially. The plumber they sent was extremely professional and appropriately friendly. The second time I had a clogged bathroom sink and tub drain. Again, they sent an extremely cordial ' helpful plumber immediately and charged me a very reasonable price. I was so happy with their service, that I purchased a home maintenance prevention program they have for only eight dollars a month. I will definitely use them again for any type of problem. After using them for plumbing I realized that they handle any kind of home emergency so it's good to know that there is someone I can call anytime day or night. read more

Our Water Heater went out and made showering with a friend not as much fun. We called the Lee Company, their representative came and looked at the Water Heater, he called me and said it was shot and I would need to replace it with a new one. The cost of the new water heater was $1,375.00, I thought this was steep, however to have a reputable company come into my home and assure us that things would go smoothly, I guess this was fair. After the installation we were told that in 45 minutes we would have hot water, but 2 hours later, still no Hot Water. We called them back and within an hour a nice gentleman came over around 7:30 PM and found a Bad Breaker that mush have slipped past the installation crew. Around 9:PM he was finished and assured us that now it was working and we could enjoy Hot Water very soon. Now I'm not really sure that the Water Heater was Bad or did I just pay $1,375.00 for a new breaker. Of course now we do have a New 50 Gallon Water Heater with a 6 year warrantee. Within 36 hours our Hot Water and Showering Pleasure was restored. read more
