Should have looked at these reviews before hiring. Got water in a subpanel and was charged over $4k to replace it, about double what I learned others would have charged. They sent Michael the sales manager who maxed out the replacement line item cost of $1640 and then added a $2100 relocation line item to move the panel less than a foot away from where the water was coming in. This was for an insurance claim and insurance does not cover preventative items like relocation. He agreed the invoice pricing was strange, but claimed to be unable to adjust it to have the bulk of the cost on replacement (which of course is the majority of work involved). Overcharged us, refused to update invoice so insurance could cover it, and then stopped responding. Will be sure no one I know calls this company. read more

We happily had Heritage Home Services come to install 2 new Gerber Pressure Assisted Toilets and love them!! Our service techs were Josh and Steve and both were excellent techs, explained things to us, and were very neat in their cleanup. They were professional and spent extra time explaining how these new toilets worked and also demonstrated how to clean the shower heads we had had Heritage install several months ago. There are many qualified plumbers in the area. Do yourself a favor and Find one and avoid Heritage Had them come out to unclog a powder-room sink and a bathtub. The initial price was over $800 in addition to a $99 service visit fee. After the initial shock we negotiated the charge down to $430 with the promise that I'd leave a review. Oh. I'll leave a review alright! The technician also spent most of his time here trying to upsell us on service plan for $269 yearly, consider getting our pipes replaced and having high pressure water forced through the pipes for another $800. These services were suggested many times. The technician didn't even clean up after himself leaving the spray from the auger on the sink backsplash and left a clump of hair in the toilet. A plumber should know that you do not flush hair down the toilet. Perhaps ensuring a second service call? Avoid this organization at all costs. read more

I had a duct cleaning service done by Heritage Home Service in Wilmington Ma. Heritage sent two morons named Robert Burns and Kevin McNally to service the duct work. Robert burns cut into fiberboard under my home which he was not authorized by the home owner to do and therefore this gross negligence caused fiberglass to contaminate my ducts and travel through all nine vents. This fiberglass I inhaled and got very sick and had to vacate my home and also shut the heating system down. I had no heat in the months following the service from February 3rd 2026. I had damage to my home and after calling the company they would not repair or fix the damage that their workers Robert Burns and Kevin McNally caused. Our 23 year old boiler died last Saturday night leaving us with no heat or hot water. Sunday morning I called around to a few companies claiming to have "24 hour emergency service". After either leaving a message and getting no call back or being told "we don't work on Sunday"(so much for their emergency service), I called Heritage. Not only was the phone answered, a few hours later Matt was at our house to assess the situation. He explained that the boiler had serious issues and they could attempt a repair but we'd be better off given the age of the system going with a replacement. He also looked at the oil tank which was probably same age or older than the boiler and found it was beginning to rust and leak. He worked up quotes for various options and by Tuesday morning Jeremy and the crew were on-site to begin the installation. They worked late on Tuesday so that we could at least have hot water restored. The project was completed by Thursday morning and we couldn't be happier. The whole process from service call to getting quotes to financing to install was super smooth. Everyone at Heritage was super professional and the nicest people. I'll never consider going with anyone else for plumbing or electrical work. I am now a Heritage Customer for life! read more

Just a cautionary word of warning about a company in the area. #Heritagehomeservices . The higher prices and the low-level of customer service are very disappointing. We had a preventative maintenance contract with them. They came out to do PM on our hot water tank and ended up breaking a valve. They left us without hot water. The technician stated that the company would get back to us with an update and when it would be repaired. They never called us. We had to call them, only to find out that we were placed initially on a 4 hour window that had already started an hour and half earlier. We were expected to drop everything. No emergency service since they are the ones at fault. They then placed us on a different 4 hour window. Still no hot water after 22 hours. It is a very sad state when a business makes a mistake and inconveniences the client and does not make it a priority to remedy it. read more

Heritage, in addition to leaving THREE dangerous gas leaks in my water heater pipes, installed the shutoff valve so close to the expansion tank that I can't turn the water off if I need to do so. The excellent company Viking Mechanical discovered the problem when they installed my new furnace. I should also mention that the Concord, MA, inspector missed the three leaks and the valve issue during his "inspection"; again, Viking Mechanical found them. I had an appointment from 8:00 to noon this morning for them to fix the valve they installed incorrectly and no one arrived, even though the technician texted me at 11:00 to let me know he was on his way. At noon, I texted him but no answer. Even if he was driving he could have called back. I called Heritage, and after having been put on hold for 12 minutes, the person told me the appointment was booked in the wrong office. When I asked why the offices didn't communicate with each other, he said they just caught the mistake. The appointment was booked two days ago. When were they going to let me know? Now I have another appointment for Monday. Forty minutes later, and the technician who texted that he was on his way still hadn't answered my text, so I called and Verizon said the call could not be completed. Heritage is always "very sorry" but they never change anything. I wouldn't use them except they put in the water heater and they need to fix it. read more

Two stars is a gift because they did show up same day when no one else would during a heatwave when my house was 101 inside. The tech that came that night (Jonathan) was polite, friendly and dedicated. After a second visit with the "comfort team" (?) I received a verbal quote of $70,000 and yet another scheduled walkthrough with another tech. This is my first house, clearly I seem like a newbie. I never saw a formal quote so who knows how much work they intended on doing but I canceled and found a different company to take a look. Hired them to clean my hvac system and ducts. An hour after they left, I noticed one of the vents was shut, and as I flipped it open a ton of dust and dirt hit me in the face. Then as I walked outside I noticed my old filters were left on my front porch, dust everywhere. When I called to complain, I was told they'd come back at no additional cost, but at that point I no longer trusted the company. The guy that came back to clean the one vent offered to clean out my drier's vent as a way to make up for the unfinished job. Not even two weeks later my drier is now in need of repair due to a clogged duct. Cool. Never again. read more

Heritage bought out the company we had dealt with for 20 years. furnace sealed motor was leaking oil. Opted to upgrade to heat pump. installation went fine. Follow up has been non existent. after 2 years permits have remained not closed by final inspections. They recently sent letter that we received 2 years ago advising us about the ownership change and offering us a " free" service plan. Why would we even consider doing any additional business with your company when you haven't completed the last job. As a side note the town has contacted them TWICE about the open permits, and there was no response to a certified letter we sent. why don't I just order inspections myself? I called them to come out and replace a Washer shutoff. They told me it would take an hour and would be $721! I asked for a parts/labor breakdown which they could not provide...Just that ridiculous price, no breakdown...The part is around $40 so even if they double it, that would mean that they charge $600 per hour? He said he could discount it down to $675....No thanks. Maybe they use a $500 14K gold valve???...I can't see any other way the math makes sense. This was not an emergency call either. Buckley brothers from Malden came out and had it done in 20 minutes and charged me a $225.....They now have a happy customer who will tell others! read more

We signed up for an annual maintenance plan with Heritage. A technician came to our house and performed maintenance on our gas furnace and said our system was working perfectly and provided us with a full report. A month later, our furnace stopped working. Getting Heritage to come out and perform emergency service took DAYS. They said they were coming and cancelled on us twice last minute. Heritage eventually came and installed a broken pressure switch after working on our furnace for hours. Our furnace stopped working in the hours after they left. The next day, a second plumbing company came and installed a working pressure switch. A few weeks later, our furnace blower completely collapsed, fan blades bent, blades fell off, exhaust filled our house and this ultimately caused a complete failure of our entire furnace. We were without heat in single digit temperatures. We had ZERO previous issues with our furnace until Heritage showed up to perform annual maintenance. We now need to spend thousands of dollars on an entirely new furnace. We are extremely disappointed and do not recommend this company. read more

After 31 years of usage from my old furnace, I got a responsive and professional team from Heritage Home Service to take out my old furnace and replace it with the Altac-136 model based on the analysis done by Dexter. Heritage 's crew spend the next 3 days installing the new broiler and cleaned up after each day. Most notably, Jarrod returned on the last day of the installation and worked through the whole day to complete the testing and we got our heat and hot water per each day of the week. Jarrod then returned this week to purge the new furnace and made sure all 3 heating zones was working and communicating with my 2 thermostats which included a new one and my Nest. I am very disappointed in heritage, and for someone who has used them quite a bit, I will now find someone else Last week I was quoted a price, I approved the work, and when the job was complete the price was more than double. Now I understand that it was only a quote, but more than double is a little bit much. Needless to say they did not do anything about it. I called and they never called back . I guess they dont care about our business. I WILL never use them again. So I assume that by overcharging it must offset the customers that never come back. I am in the customer satifaction business and if we get a bad review we do all we can to retain that customer. I panned to install a walk-in tub so I reached out to a few contractors recommended by Home Advisor. Heritage Home Service was responsive enough but wanted to charge me $89 for the quote which I obviously declined. They changed their mind within few minutes and let me know that they will waive that as they called it, "dispatch fee" and sent me a rep, Mr. Evan Fairbanks, who seemed to be professional enough. What surprised me was the fact that there was no range on prices, it was basically a flat fee charge regardless of the equipment installed. Mr. Fairbanks took some measurements and left. The next day I received a very strange document which did not have neither equipment listed nor a cost of the job. It only described my request and had some measurements. I called the company and asked to explain this and they said that Mr. Fairbanks will call me. Which he never did. It is arguably the worst service I received in a few years. read more

On a Tuesday our cast iron pipes finally showed their age. After opening the wall, it was clear this was a two man job that was going to be very arduous given tight spaces, wiring , etc. The estimated price was a little higher than I expected but I was told the job could be done on Thursday (2 days later). The job would take 2 days. We got a call to expect 3 men who would likely be able to do the job in 1 day. Jason, Josh and Marcus couldn't have been more professional, thorough or expert. They did a great job and left the areas in which they worked as clean as possible. You never know how much you rely on a functional Kitchen sink till you can't use it. I called the company around 4:30 and asked what the problem was, the gentleman told me he would look into and get back to me, and he did and said the technician would be there at 7pm. Two tech's arrived about 7p, 3 minutes later told me they couldn't take care of my problem because it would take too long and they had another visit to make. On to the positives: Good tech, very nice and informative Scheduled as soon as they could On to the negatives: Was told that my low water pressure at hot would be investigated and that my new shower assembly could be installed at the same time. The tech said that he couldn't guarantee the water pressure but could do the shower assembly which should resolve the problem. The price quoted to replace a customer supplied shower assembly was $980 with me having everything I thought I needed. He said it would take about 4 hours which is $245 an hour! I paid the insane amount because I wanted the work done as soon as possible and the tech seemed very nice. Hours into the job, the tech discovers that the assembly I had was missing pieces and that one of the handles wouldnt even fit, then I had to run out to buy what was missing in a rush as he found out at 4pm and the place closes at 4:30pm. He was helpful in calling the place but maybe he should have checked that he had everything he needed before starting? He called someone senior to him for advice during the problem and I could hear the brash person telling him to charge us more to come back to finish the job while the tech said we were already being charged a lot of money. Now I know to check Yelp reviews instead of going off of Google reviews as those are overwhelmingly positive while the Yelp reviews are overwhelmingly negative. read more

I called Heritage because they have an office 1 mile from my house. They were pretty responsive and came when they promised. However, I knew I needed at least one new element for my HWH but wasn't sure if it needed more. When they got here, they informed me that it would cost $222.00 just to look at it (15 minutes of work). I assumed (incorrectly) that if they provided the repair the diagnosis would be part of the bill. Nope.....they wanted to charge me $222 for the diagnosis and then another $1200 for two elements and a thermostat. Not sure I even need all of that. I went elsewhere. read more

I wish I read the reviews here, before calling! Let me start with "HP & H inc does NOT provide a detailed parts and labor breakdown on invoices" Consumer BEWARE! They are EXTREMELY over priced! I had 3 services...#1--hook up my sink--went from 2 drains to one--we removed garbage disposal and the piping that attached to it--swan pipe is what was needed to be put in--I bought the drain kit and sink myself. #2--Values may need to be changed #3 Hook the dishwasher hose up to the sink drain...I purchased the hose. Let me start with at least giving the plumber the credit where credit is due. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I have not one complaint about him. The sink--$619.---it clearly states---MINOR repair on the invoice as well. Okay--fine I will eat that cost...I have not a clue how much 40 PVC pipe costs to put in a swan neck and a hose hole for a dishwasher or how long it takes but to me $619 is what the entire bill should have been not just to hookup the sink. The values--Replace under the sink stops--$336.00 The old rule--I knew one was gone...might as well replace all three...oh, and keep the copper pipe that was attached to the values as well. THE DISHWASHER--this is what sent me over the edge....$549.00 to hook up 2 hoses....one I purchased, the other did need to be replaced--again the plumber did show me how the rubber gasket was dried out...it costs all of 20 at a home store. Invoice "install standard dishwasher---(dishwasher was already in place) includes new water supply (which I did need again--20 at a home store) Remove existing dishwasher? not a service that was needed, as I am sure somehow, some where in the "justification of H P & H inc it will be a "disposal fee" Hook up dishwasher to existing water shut off drain. Finally, the old "membership" which was NEVER EVER brought up during the conversation of setting up the appointment. $69 Grand Total---$1,422.60 just sicking to think that those charges are just justified in that companies mind. It is seriously a shame. Plumbers are so hard to find...here I am think this company would be a the "savor" for repairs that need to be done. Instead they got you the minute they walk in the door. Which again they could have had it made around here. So, why did I authorize it? Well, ask my idiot husband...he was home on conference calls working---didn't pay attention. When I got home, he was writing the check. I call twice to ask for some type of breakdown on how this bill is the price it is. Jodi--very nice--very helpful...the Plumbing manager--did not call me back with in 24 hours, called again this afternoon---he and another plumbing manger were not available. On December 9, 2023 I had to purchase a generator to replace my old 20 amp, Kubota. When I tried to set it up I realized that the new Champion generator required a different power cord. Not knowing much about what was needed to get my new generator to work, I called Heritage Home Service and scheduled an appt. for Monday, Dec. 18. Chris arrived about an hour late and advised me that I needed a new 30 amp power cord and inlet box. Because he did not have them in his truck he had to make a 10-minute trip to a local electrical supply house. He required an authorization before he could do the work. I bulked at the $900 cost but with an impending storm and not realizing what the work entailed, I agreed to sign. Chris took about 20 minutes to swap out receptacle boxes before also replacing 20 amp breaker for a 30 amp one in my electrical panel. We then shut off power to the house, started the generator, and concluded that all was working. His work took an estimated one hour and a half which included the round trip to the electrical supply house. Because his bill did not give me a breakdown of charges I called Heritage and asked to talk to someone about this bill and give me a breakdown. I have called three times and each time was assured that someone would get back to me within one business day. No one has returned that call. I have since gotten on-line and discovered that the power cord, box, and circuit breaker costs were approximately $132. Just switching out a 20 amp inlet box for a 30 amp box should have cost around $100 maximum according to Internet sources. Given the costs to a company to send out an electrician, etc. I estimate this job to be worth around $500 max! To be billed $900 was extremely excessive. I would like a rebate of at least $200. If not, then I want senior citizen, home owners to be aware that this company will take advantage of your lack of electrical knowledge and charge you outrageously. read more
