Wished we'd driven the extra 20 minutes to liberty union in eagle. Sooo good. Jill, the bartender, has been there for years and knows exactly what we want. Beers are always changing and on point with what's new. The menu just changed and has fish tacos, pulled pork tacos, bruschetta flatbread, and so many other on trend choices. We also did the smores cheesecake which was unbelievable. While roaming up this way, we decided to try out somewhere new to eat for lunch, and it turned out to be a decent location. When arriving, there was only one other table dining, but it was getting busier by the time we left. There was only one waitress working, and she was doing an awesome job keeping up with all the tables, keeping drinks filled, and plates cleared. When it came to the food: I had gotten the Turkey and Ham Dutch Crunch Sandwich, which for being a basic sandwich with thousand island added, it tasted pretty good (with some crunch in the bread of course). My boyfriend has gotten the Breaded Chicken Hotter than Hell Style sandwich, which was pretty plain to him, just chicken and sauce. He said the sauce did have good flavor, and had a small amount of spice to it, but nothing special (coming from a guy who likes the hottest peppers out there). I can say the bathroom though....FREEZING!! Overall, this was not a bad little spot to come across for a cheap, fast lunch. read more

I remember coming in here for an after-work beer with the local Chief of Police a few times, several decades ago back when Woody still owned the place. NOTHING has changed since then and for my money, that's a good thing. Other reviews have mentioned the dated decor and they're not wrong. They haven't spent much money decorating the place but it has that quaint familiarity sort of like grandma's house. A heritage, if you will. Nowadays our extended family likes to meet here for wing night as it's a somewhat central location and they always accommodate us even when we show up with an unreasonably large party. Kids, high chairs, crayons... It's not glamorous but we've never been made to feel unwelcome in the slightest. The menu is not too big but filled with plenty of good and inexpensive options. My wife raves about their prime rib and I've never heard anyone complain about the wings (we're picky about our wings). The Dutch Crunch is a clever and tasty sandwich if you need a change of pace and the waitstaff in both the bar and dining room are always quick and cheerful. We really do appreciate their consistent warmth when waiting on us and they seem to take our odd sense of humor in stride. This isn't a place you bring people to impress; this is a place where you eat a little more than you should, pay a little less than you expected and leave with a smile on your face only to come back again. edit: I may have spoken too soon. A couple weeks after I posted this, they began remodeling. And by remodeling, I mean they took down the Christmas tree that's been up for years and painted the cement block walls a different color. And increased all the prices, some by a little and others by a lot. The patty melt went from $7 to $15 and they got rid of most of the inexpensive options. Wait until the dust settles. 2nd edit: The patty melt wasn't the only surprise. On our past couple visits, our drinks were considerably more expensive than before while the service has continued to go downhill. Last time the dining room was nearly empty on a night there used to be a half-hour wait. This week we figured we'd get wings to go and avoid the irritation but guess what else they doubled in price? I'm done, let them figure out who their new customer base will be because they clearly aren't interested in keeping the old one. read more

So I found myself in Morgantown last night needing a place to have dinner. I passed this on the way in..just off the morgantown exit which is very convenient. When you walk in the front door it's kind of a choose your own mystery..to the right is the dining room and to the left is the lounge. We obviously chose the lounge. We got the last two bar stools! The place was pretty busy for 7pm Tuesday night in a small town. Looking around the place could definitely use a remodel or at least a some updated decor. There are two TVs one was playing jeopardy and the other had the outdoor channel on. It was funny, I and everyone else seemed to be watching and playing along with jeopardy and wheel. Simple bar atmosphere where the locals all seemed to know each other and were all very friendly with the bartender. The bartender greeted us promptly, made our drinks, and brought over menus after helping a few other patrons. She mentioned this was a brand new menu and has only had a few things on it. I also heard her mention new owners since the New Year. The menu was diverse..lots of different bar appetizers like loaded fries, nachos and fried pickles. But there was a large selection of Salads, followed by steak and seafood entrees, then a full page of burgers and sandwiches. All sounded great! We landed on the nachos first which were good, could have used a little more cheese and maybe a fresher salsa..tasted kind of like chichi's or something generic but they were definitely good enough for bar nachos! We then ordered the bacon wrapped pork which came with mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts. The pork was cooked perfectly! I was expecting overdone and chewy just from the atmosphere but definitely not the case! The brussels were also super impressive..a flavor I couldn't quite pin down what it was but I definitely wanted more. The mashed potatoes were home made but didn't quite feel fresh..maybe they were whipped a little too much..kind of gluey. I'd still order that again for sure! The other bar patrons were super friendly, everyone wanted to seem to make small talk either with us or each other! I'm sure the new owners will plan to do some interior updates but hopefully the prices stay reasonable..whenever I find myself in Morgantown this will be my place to dine! Afterwards I went back to the hotel bar for one last drink and found Heritage to be a more welcoming and comfortable spot. read more

What a surprise! Went into this resturant for lunch after a nearby antique show. We expected the usual small town fare. But this place is special. We had the crispy, crunchy ham and turkey sandwich. Both meats were fresh cut and full of flavor. Really good iced tea. My friend had French fries. They were made from fresh potatoes, not frozen and fried to a perfect brown. No off flavors from the oil. Tomatoes actually had taste in March. The waitress was fine, funny, friendly. She likes the place she works and her boss. They all went to High School together. If you are anywhere near the Morgenville entrance to the PA Turnpike, eat here. You'll be glad you did. read more

So the drive from Philly going east can be long and not pleasant when you're starved. So when we found this little cafe along the way that had good reviews on Yelp, we were overjoyed. The cafe surpassed our expectations. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and I got more than I could bargain for.. huge serving, all of it was delicious. My dad had the Ham and Turkey Dutch Crunch and absolutely loved it (so much that he got a to-go box, which he almost never does). The overall feel of the place was nice, almost like southern comfort, which we're used to. If I'm ever making that drive again, I'll certainly be back. read more
