I recently had the pleasure of dining at Annamarie's on Main at 339 West Main Street in Birdsboro, PA, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! This spot manages to deliver a truly upscale, urban dining experience in a charming, small-town setting--it's a real gem that you have to check out! I ordered the fish and chips entree, and was honestly shocked by how generous the portions were. Served on a bed of french fries, the dish included not only the fish, but also about a half-dozen good-sized battered and fried shrimp, plus a hearty serving of clam strips. It was almost a meal for two! The plate was well-presented, and everything tasted fresh. The small house salad with blue cheese dressing that came with it was also a refreshing addition. If you're looking for value and flavor, this place delivers! What truly sets Annamarie's apart is the level of detail they put into the dining environment. The ambiance is wonderful--it feels both professional and warm. They feature cloth table cloths and real fabric napkins, which is a rare and welcome touch these days, along with quality tableware that has a nice heft to it. The walls are decorated with museum or gallery-quality black and white photography of local facades, which adds a lot of character and local flair. The entire presentation of the diner was flawless, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. Another unique feature I loved was their offering of locally made Kodiak brand soft drinks! Our server was truly excellent--both attentive and incredibly helpful. She offered the daily specials and took the time to explain each dish. My dinner partner was having trouble deciding between three different entrees, and our server patiently helped her talk through the options and make a perfect choice. The entire staff was professional and clearly cared about the dining experience. I can enthusiastically say that I absolutely recommend Annamarie's on Main! If you're looking for a upscale dining experience in the Essex Township area, you really have to give these folks a try. The menu is unique and spans everything from salads and seafood to steaks, burgers, and wings. We love love love love coming here! Portions are amazing, food is always good and the staff are so kind! We arrived right at the beginning of dinner and avoided the rush. We ordered the French fry board and it fed our family for 6 and we had lefts overs to bring home. It was an amazing spread of joy! The kids loved the marshmallow sauce. It was definitely a treat for our family and we felt so full after eating it. The kids had the pasta and chicken tenders meal. They of course loved it and the chicken had the perfect crisp! We ordered the wonton appetizer, it was light and very tasty. For our chicken meals, they had side salads to start and they were good, better than just iceberg lettuce salad, this one had spinach and all the healthy mix ins. The Parmesan chicken meal was not the best, and I would not recommend it, but every other meal we had here was flavorful and just delightful to eat! read more

We love Annamarie's on Main! Every time we dine here we are greeted warmly and enjoy friendly conversation with the servers. All the servers go out of their way to meet your needs and ensure your visit is great. Monica has become a fast friend and I enjoy that she knows how to dish back to my husbands sarcastic sense of humor. The food is delicious! The first time I ordered their filet mignon I was uncertain what to expect; boy was I pleasantly surprised! Now that I've had several, I can tell you they prepare a deliciously seasoned, perfectly cooked medium-rare filet mignon every time. Their mashed potatoes are exceptional! So sad to have to leave a small business a one star review, but our trip today cannot go unshared. We were recommended to go here from a friend and the reviews had us excited, so we planned a special 30 minute drive to try it out. We were warmly greeted by our server, and were off to a good start with fast service and large drinks. We both ordered an omelet with a side of seasonal fruit salad. We were quickly disappointed when the "seasonal fruit salads" arrived before our meal. It consisted of about a half cup of frozen, then thawed blueberries and a half of a banana for $3.99 each. We don't mind paying an up charge for fruit, but these blueberries were inedible and these 2 fruits in a bowl cannot pass as a 'salad' nor 'seasonal'. Our server knew it and dropped them off quickly. We expressed our dismay to our server, asking if there were any other fruits available as this should not have been served as an actual item to expect people to pay for. She 'checked' and then said no. If the restaurant was out of fruit, that's totally fine, but don't serve us something not representative of the menu offering and expect us to pay. When I indicated to the server that this was inedible and we wanted it removed from the bill, she looked at me as if that was an incredulous request. We felt so awkward, we just wanted to get up and leave over something that was a no brainer to retain a satisfied customer. We quickly ate our omelets when they arrived and wanted our dining experience to over ASAP. When we got the bill, our server had 'removed' the fruit salad charge, but oddly enough each of the other items we purchased had a price increased by $1, to equal the cost of the fruit salad anyhow. We were done sharing our voice where our satisfaction went unheard. We promptly paid the bill and will not be returning. read more

We tried Anna Marie's in Royersford years ago. The food was delicious but the restaurant was extremely crowded. While we had off for a few days, we decided to venture to try different restaurants so we decided to try the new location. The restaurant looks nice. When we went there were only 5 other tables occupied. If it was a weekend, I am sure the restaurant would be crowded. The tables are very close together. There were menus on the table but they were different. When we asked our waitress which one to use she said we could use either. I overheard a waiter at another table explaining the difference between the menus but our waitress did not go through the differences. I live in North Carolina, and get to Annamarie's maybe once a year, but it is a visit I really look forward to. I have yet to find a breakfast place near me in NC that even comes close. I've always gone to the Royersford location, and introduced lots of family members to that restaurant, so I was excited to try the new Birdsboro location. It did not disappoint! I've always enjoyed Annamarie's because it is all I've ever wanted in a great breakfast joint. Basically anything you'd ever hope to see on a breakfast menu . . . .is on the menu! The only downside to this is that it's really hard to choose what to get because so many options look so good. When I'm eating healthy, there are tons of options; eggs about any way you'd want them, lots of breakfast meats, very healthy portions, etc. But my favorite thing is probably that I can get pork roll and scrapple . . . two things that are about impossible to find in North Carolina. So whenever I'm in southeastern Pennsylvania, and the subject of breakfast comes up, the first choice is always Annamarie's. And with the new location, it's even easier to make that happen. read more

I used to frequent Annamarie's on main in Royersford when I lived in Collegeville and was so excited to try it. My daughter lives in Exeter and I really wanted it to be the same experience but unfortunately was exactly the opposite. When you first walk in there is a host stand and register but no one there. The staff huddles at the farthest end of the counter by the kitchen doors. We were sat as soon as one looked up from the intense meeting they were having with one another. The place is nice inside but dirty. The high chair they gave me was disgusting. I'd personally be embarrassed to hand it to anybody. Regardless, I cleaned it off before I sent my grandson in it. The menu is similar to what I've been used to at the original location and there's also additional menu specials on a separate sheet. The waiter seemed absent mentally. We asked for two waters a juice for my grandson and a cup of coffee when he came back with the waters, we had to remind him about the juice and coffee. He came back with the juice, went back to the huddle with the other employees and a couple minutes later after I realized he wasn't bringing me my coffee. I had to get his attention in order to get the cup of coffee to come to the table. The food came out about 10 minutes after we ordered. Keep in mind the place was not busy and the food was delivered lukewarm. We decided to share eggs Benedict and a French toast special with apples and mascarpone cheese. Neither of the dishes were hot. it's really a shame because I wanted it to be good. Our waiter, in addition with the other two servers that were on duty that day, we're all in the same spot at the end of the counter by the kitchen doors either on their phones or reading the newspaper, no wonder why people don't wanna leave proper tips anymore. The thing that makes the original in Royersford so special is Annamarie. There is obviously no management present and it's a shame. There's no reason to go back. I would much rather drive the extra 25 minutes and experience what I've been accustomed to. We ended up going across the street to Reading roaster, coffee and getting some good cups of coffee as well as some nice desserts. read more

Just had brunch here with three friends. One friend ordered gluten free pancakes with blueberries. The server told another friend if she didn't like her French toast, she could get something else. Everything was good, but the gluten free pancakes were not cooked thoroughly and inedible. When we mentioned this to one of the waitresses, she said she would take it off the bill. However, then my friend was told that it couldn't be taken off and our waiter should have told us this. $11 for raw pancakes is steep, but standing behind your statements and good customer service is most important in any restaurant. Hope that decision to not honor what was said was worth it because we won't be back and I certainly wouldn't recommend this place just for that. read more
