Had to have a window replaced after install and they worked with us to remove shutters and reinstall. When Dale, the owner, arrived for an appointment I requested that he wear a COVID mask. I even offered to provide him with one. Dale refused to wear a mask. As he returned to his truck he was heard saying "and the stupidity just keeps on coming". I should have done more research. I met the owners and had confidence in them and everything went downhill from there. They arrived after waiting months... Covid so not a big deal. They arrived not even covered or padded. They were chipped beyond repair. Every single one of them. Not only were they chipped but should've never even been delivered. They were scratched in areas and most of them were covered in drips of paint. They looked awful but I was reassured this was normal and they'd look perfect. The installer attempted to fix it and made it so much worse even getting paint on my walls. Some of them didn't even line up when they closed. They weren't installed properly. Tim came out to inspect them and completely agreed. He took them down and we waited weeks and weeks again only to come back worse. They just sprayed over them causing the finish to look awful. The owner Michelle came out and completely agreed how bad they were once again. It took at least six separate visits and days off of work waiting for them to come and repair them on site which hasn't worked. Not to mention the constant clean up you have to do after they leave. You can see their "touch ups" but I gave up. I'm still dealing with issues as the nails continuously pop out and on occasion that cracks the slat. Please beware. I should've demanded completely new shutters from the first day but I let them "fix" them their way and they look awful. Lesson learned. Please please beware. What should have been an incredible experience cost me over $5000 and they are absolute junk. read more

Stay far away from this company. Ordered shutters for 2 windows and 1 door on January 17th. Was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks. Installation was completed on August 19th. Many delays always attributed to Covid. Installation was started the latter part of July with 1 shutter installed on the smaller window. The one for the other window was not on the truck and the one for the door had the wrong size frame. A week later they tried again and more problems. The shutter for the door couldn't be installed since they had to get more parts. The frame for the window was partially installed but didn't fit. It went on and on always something. Finally the installation manager "Tim" came out with the owner "Dale" and they installed the large window shutter. When they removed the old shutters. The drywall damaged and they assured me that it would be repaired and it was not a good repair. The owner said they don't normally repair drywall but this caused him to come out and complained this repair caused him to have to be diverted from more important work. read more

My wife and I could not be happier with the results from Heritage Shutters. We are not new to shutters having had them installed in our previous home in CA. The company in CA was really good, but Heritage is even better. Dale was excellent and explained everything when advising on the process. He correctly suggested we go to a wider slat than we had in our previous home as it would fit the scale of our 10' ceilings better. The frames he suggested are perfect. They were done in the projected 10 week time. The installation was completed by Riley on December 4. He was efficient and did a flawless job. We put shutters on every window in the house except two. They look great. From the sales, the measurement, the factory, and the installation we could not have expected a better result at a reasonable price. first I want to say that a friend recommend this company because hey did such a great job. my experience wasn't so great. the people were very friendly but not very experienced. my shutters arrived and when installed (after cutting a patch in my baseboard) realized they were cut incorrectly and needed to be adjusted. they told me in would take 10 days to cut the header. after three weeks I called them. it would be another two before they would make it out again. they said they would "patch":the baseboard. see picture. when they came back and I saw what they did on the baseboard I asked to have a whole new piece which they did. they also caulked around the frame. it was horrible. I had to re-do it when they left. they wore shoes in the house and tracked caulking on my floor and carpet. they put tools on my dining table. each panel has two holes to adjust screws. they do not plug the holes. I had to order the plugs from Amazon. overalll not a great experiences for what I paid! read more

I anxiously awaited my "custom shutters" which took 11 weeks and over $1,000 for one window. Two men came in to install and told my daughter it would only take approx. 5 to 10 minutes. When I came to check their work, two nail end sticking out on both sides of the bottom frame. The lead person was trying to cover it up with paint. When I questioned it he merely cut off the end. Later that evening I noticed a gouge in the left side of the frame. Long story somewhat short they sent a crew to fix the problem. This person used caulk after he pulled out the nails and also used it on the gouge in the wood. He made more of a mess with the caulk when he should have used a wood filler. The wood finish in some areas of the shutters are slightly rough and the right side does not adhere to the center magnet because it is not centered properly. At this point I'm just chalking this up to a poor choice and I will use a different company for the other two windows. read more

As I wake up this morning and walk into my living room I am greeted with a new amazing view of my new window shutters. My dealings with this company was exceptional with everything happening exactly as promised. When it came to the install there was a minor error in the frame and they had it remade and installed within 24 hours. The shutters themselves are beautiful and very well made.
