Caffe mocha: 7/10 Not too sweet, which is how I like it, although I did end up adding a bit more simple syrup to my cup just to my liking. Nice, quiet coffee shop with fast service and prices that are overall cheaper than other cafes.

In an office building. No bathrooms in coffee shop, no sit down area BUT the coffee is really good. They're working with the space they have so can't blame them for not being able to have a bathroom/sit down area. I would not recommend their drip UNLESS they have a single origin brewing. Their drip blend tastes a bit bitter but I had the Mexico drip and it was delicious. The latte and cappuccino were delicious. The lady working there knew a lot about the beans and was very helpful. They roast their own coffee beans every day. They smell wonderful, excited to try the Brazil coffee beans when we get home. *make sure to ask for the beans that were roasted most recently, they have a date stamped on the bottom of the bag*

    Mocha with Oat Milk

Visited Herkimer Coffee multiple times during my stay in Seattle. The staff was friendly. Despite being busy (a line of people were waiting during both visits) the Baristas took the time to talk to me about where I was from, Seattle and what I wanted from my drink. They were able to do this while taking care of multiple orders so it didn't slow down the flow of the line. It just seemed to be a natural thing that they included in their coffee experience. It was cool to see how they have fit into the community as well. The baristas knew the orders of all the regulars around me without needing them to even say it. They just had them affirm that they wanted their regular order. Both visits I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. The coffee to milk ratio was just right. It was creamy and smooth. During one visit, the whole family came with me. My wife ordered a mocha and pastry. She was impressed with how well the mocha was done. Not too sweet, not too coffee like, no after taste (she's not a coffee fan). The pastry was to her liking as well. My kids enjoyed that there is apple juice on the menu. The prices here were $1 to $1.50 cheaper than some of the other coffee shops in the Pike Place, Belltown, Downtown area. The only downside of this location, it is closed on weekends. Understandable considering it is in an office building.

Phenomenal cortado, perfectly done. And the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I wish they were open earlier and later.

Great cappuccino breve. They did ask me what size which made me worry but they still slayed it. The espresso was that good and I requested a standard 8 oz. I took it to go.

Visiting from out of state and we loved this place! Very classy vibes which we always love! The blueberry scone was so tasty and the coffee were even tastier! The barista (Morgan) was so kind and helpful and gave us some great recommendations (we're not too familiar with coffee types). Definitely recommend getting your morning pick me up here!

It's our last day in Seattle before we head back to California and decided to get coffee before we left. The baristas were very kind and helpful. The coffee and scone were wonderful! So glad we stopped at Herkimer Coffee.

Oatmilk latte, drip coffee and dill scone.

Great coffee and nice staff. They were very accommodating of my needy husband who gets drip coffee with 1 ice cube! I ordered an oatmilk latte half caffeine, so I guess I'm needy also. We split the dill scone and it was good, but I'd prefer it warmed up a tad. I'd definitely recommend Hermiker if you are in the area.

The coffee here was solid and the service was friendly and fast! I got the latte with oat milk and it had a smooth, drinkable taste to it. Would definitely recommend :)

    Tea and syrup selection

Pretty good, reasonably priced. No inside seating as others mentioned and very limited menu. Friendly. Personally I wish they had more flavor options / sauces but it's definitely for a certain niche

    The view.

Unlike the majority of coffee shops I've tried in Seattle, Hello Em has ample parking right on the same street, which was a HUGE relief when I was running hungry and borderline hypoglycemic. When I walked in earlier this morning, I was warmly greeted by a staff member who, after I mentioned it was my first visit, thoughtfully walked me through their top-selling items. Bonus: while waiting for my food and beverage, I explored and was mesmerized by the beautifully curated aesthetic and Vietnamese decor, which was thoughtfully designed and made my wait enjoyable. I ordered an iced Cà Phê Brûlée (torched egg coffee), which turned out to be such a creamy, decadent treat once I stirred the torched top into the strong roast beneath it. For food, I was torn between the Sữa đặc (condensed milk) Pandan Croissant and the Ăn Sáng (breakfast) croissant so I decided to just order both. The Pandan Croissant was sweet and buttery, while the Breakfast Croissant was a protein-rich, savory blend of honey ham, Chả lụa (Vietnamese ham), omelet, and a light spread of mayo. I left full, caffeinated, and BEYOND impressed. If you're after high quality Vietnamese coffee and pastries paired with warm, attentive service, Hello Em is well worth the trip!!!!

Definitely a hopping place at the end of the workday. It's got a darker ambiance and it's cozy. It has indoor, outdoor, and patio seating, though we chose to stay indoor. Pro tip - the poofs make you sit REALLY low. The food choices around 1pm were dismal, and limited. Maybe they'd sold out, or maybe they just don't have a lot there, but nothing even looked fresh enough to warrant purchase. The other thing that killed me was the service. There was one person on the entire 4 hours I was there, and it made for an incredibly slow experience. It was friendly enough, if not a little dismissive. Prices are reasonable and there is paid parking across the street, but take that with a "for Seattle" caveat.

The staff at the time were warm (Michael was the best), knew regulars by name, and made every visit feel special. The coffee was excellent and it felt like a true neighborhood gem. Over time, the people who made this place so memorable moved on, and with them went the quality and the warmth. I opted to support other local coffee shops instead. I returned recently to use a reward I had accumulated, excited to see how things had changed since my last visit. When I asked to check my rewards balance before ordering, I was told I could only do so after completing the transaction. Every other coffee shop I frequent allows this beforehand, so I pushed back to clarify. What followed was one of the most unwelcoming interactions I have experienced at any business. The staff member's tone was hostile and dismissive from the moment I asked a simple question, and it did not let up. I felt uncomfortable enough to cancel my order entirely. When I asked for a receipt to confirm my refund, she threw it away in front of me. A colleague had to ask her again on my behalf, and she snapped that she had already discarded it. Another customer standing nearby witnessed this exchange and looked visibly appalled. I reached out to the owner privately before leaving a public review, hoping to have a real conversation. She chose not to follow up with me about my experience. Instead, she wrote back to say she had already spoken with her staff and that a separate customer had contacted her to say I was the problem, and that her team had handled everything with grace. She closed by suggesting I had not met a basic standard of respect. I want to be clear: the customer she referenced appeared to be acquainted with the barista. I will leave readers to draw their own conclusions about whose account was actively sought out. I also want to note that I am not alone in this experience. Other reviewers here have flagged the same pattern of cold, unwelcoming service at this location. That tells me this is not an off day. It is worth reading those reviews before you visit. The refund for items that were never made has still not been processed, four days later, which caused me to have to reach out to an owner again. I have now been refunded. I share all of this because I think people deserve to know what to expect, both at the counter and if something goes wrong. This is not the place I once loved, and the ownership's response confirmed that.

Boona Boona inhabits this territory with admirable commitment. The space is undeniably curated--every chair, surface, and design choice seems to have undergone a rigorous internal audit for maximum urban cool. Unfortunately, the coffee itself feels rather blasé, as though it were merely incidental to the aesthetic project, had high hopes but fell short. One senses that considerable effort has gone into cultivating the idea of a coffee shop, while the actual coffee is left to fend for itself. The larger issue is the insistence on hipness. There is something faintly exhausting about the whole performance: the studied minimalism, the knowing atmosphere, the sense that you have wandered onto a particularly well-lit side street in Brooklyn circa 2014. And, with affection to Seattle, this isn't NYC. It doesn't need to cosplay as one. To be fair, there is plenty to admire if your primary concern is atmosphere and Instagrammability. But coffee should ultimately taste like something worth getting out of bed for, rather than merely providing a prop for the room. The irony is that there is actually a thoughtful and genuinely worthwhile mission beneath all the carefully curated café affectations: supporting African coffee growers, cultivating community, and preserving East African coffee traditions. Which makes the relentless performance of coolness feel somewhat unnecessary. The substance is there; I simply wish the coffee experience felt as compelling as the mission statement.
