We were just planning to have a quick bite and walk around but, when you see HERMES in front of your face You just have to pay a visit... We had NO APPOINTMENTS and there was NO line. I wanted to purchase some shoes and bracelets but, I totally forgot about it because I was walking around the store doing YELP duties. As I was walking around the store further away from my sales associate there was a lady that said we are closing and wanted to kick us out. Mind you my party of 7 was still making a purchase of over $6,000 with this other Chinese speaking lady. I thought Diego should have gotten the credit but, seems like my friend wanted to speak to the Chinese lady... I was sad to see Hermes leave fashion valley but thank God they stayed in San Diego. I came recently to buy my 4 year old son his first "cool" bracelet. The sales associate was very accommodating to him and let him try on 5-6 different styles before he picked the one he wanted. Of course he picked the most expensive one at 750 but it made him happy and the sales guy chuckle when my son said "it's so cheap"! Not the easiest location to get a Birkin cause it's a 2 year min waitlist here but do what I did and go to vegas. I got mine within 6 months from them. read more

Terrible customer service in general. Last year, made an appointment, visited the boutique, bought a couple of shirts and a bracelet. The SA was helpful and polite throughout. Upon checking out, she said she would text right away so we could make appointments in the future. She never did. That's fine. People get busy, forget, etc. All good. Today, we decided to visit. Walked up, no security at the door, so decided to go in. We opened the door and, security, from halfway inside the boutique, turned around, threw his hand in the air - as if shushing us - and shouted, "Hey! You have to wait outside!" Went there to purchase a gift recently with my sister and they were a bit busy. We were the first ones standing by the belts section and then after 10 min of waiting two other customers walked in. One of the associates (her name was Ashmalii) finally came up to us and asked us if she could help us and we said yes... without answering back she proceeded with also asking the two new customers if they needed help and helping them instead of us. It was really rude and disrespectful not even acknowledging us and helping the other customers... treat all your customers fairly. Most of us that walk into that store have money to purchase items ... it's not okay to ignore people and disrespect them in such a high end store! read more

I visited recently to pick-up a belt, pretty basic. The associate said they didn't have what I wanted in stock so he would call me as soon as they located one, explained it should take a day or so to locate. They never called or followed-up with an email (they had all my contact details). I ended up ordering from their website, no issues or wait- in stock and sent very quickly (lovely packaging, per Hermes, etc.). A 'storefront' is great if you'd like to see a product in-person, but they actually don't have much there...online is your best bet (or shop in a bigger market, e.g., NYC, Paris, etc.). This location is great. I've been on the hunt for chypre sandals and I'm slowly building my passifolia plate collection. Ashmalli was so helpful with the passifolia collection, she has several pieces and took the time to show me pictures of hers. The design is so much more beautiful in person. I ended up ordering the breakfast cups and she also found white chypres in my size so I picked those up as well. Came here over the weekend with my friend. We wanted to take a look at the silk scarves and ties that they had since my friend collects ties. First of all, I used to work many retails jobs before so I get it when employees tell the customers "Let me know if you need help". Cool, but it's terrible when they watch you like a hawk as if you're going to steal something. We used to do that when I was a teen working in retail and you get an feeling that these punk kids are going to steal, you watch them down and pretend you're trying to "serve" them, but WOW! I'm shocked my friend and I were nicely dressed, he was even wearing a suit so I have no idea why they stare you down. There's no need to follow us around the store every inch. There's a difference between selling and trying to get commission over "babysitting" customers that you think will steal or ruin your merchandise. The employees don't even smile. They're more like security guards than sales associates if anything. Their employees need to calm TF down. Smile and at least pretend you like your job. We were so uncomfortable in the store my friend and I left before he even got to take a good look at the ties. read more

I guess I need to make an appointment with Helen next time, as my sales associate seemed cold and unwelcoming, not on their "attentive" or "helpful" A game that day. I suspect Hermes trains their employees to be unapproachable and icy to customers they don't know, as out of the 4 boutiques I've been to in the state of CA, only the flagship store in Beverly Hills was a great experience. I don't show up looking like I've rolled in the mud, and I had the funds to buy the items I wanted each time. It is unsettling when a store doesn't seem to WANT your dollars. I get it is elite luxury, but other high end brands may try to track down a product for you, not just shrug at "not having" the item you came into purchase, with no forthcoming information about when or how you could buy what you want. Don't even mention the website because only peasants shop from home instead of through one of their indifferent, unhelpful Sales Associates in person. I know it is about commission, but they don't deserve commission if they're not even interested in SELLING YOU the products you WANT or even suggest any alternatives! Are you supposed to beg and impress them into showing you what they do have available for sale?... It's so ridiculous to have to beg a store to spend up your money. That said I love my bag I bought from the BH store, and I adore my collection of small luxury goods, mostly secured from the online store. If you want a desired item like a bag, go to a flagship store that is forthcoming about its inventory. read more

Similar to low-end hardware stores, Hermes receipts expire. I purchased a bracelet for my wife and was told I can bring it back to exchange it for a smaller size if it doesn't fit. It took a few weeks for me to give her the bracelet and find time to come get a smaller size and they were giddy that I had passed the 30-day limit. I was never told about the expiration rule and apparently it's in the fine prints. Skip Hermes and shop where they care about their customers. Hermes doesn't. read more

This store is lovely. Not the largest selection of items but a decent display. The saddles are beautiful. My husband had recently purchased one of their iconic "H" bracelets from here for my birthday. It was a nice surprise and l love everything about it. We returned to purchase a particular perfume that I liked from a sample. It was quite busy in there but, I still found the staff to be friendly. I think they were under-staffed but still helpful. I love their bracelets and purses....household items are beautiful and classy . I have to say, I have my eye on some of their dinnerware so one of the days, I might just splurge. I don't understand the other negative reviews other than I would prefer they stay open longer as they seem to close a lot earlier than the mall. read more

I never used to have good experiences at this Hermes location but Helen really turned that around. I came in with my mom and was greeted by Helen right away. She was extremely friendly, warm and helpful. My mom came in to exchange a bracelet to a different color because she is terribly indecisive. I watched Helen go through all the drawers many times because my mom wanted to see everything in every color. She laughed with us and helped my mom decide on a bracelet and a necklace before she handed us off to the cashier. She also greeted everyone else who came in to let them know she will be right with them so she acknowledged other customers but never made us feel like she was rushing us. So unbelieveably snobby! I'm a regular Hermès customer and the salesperson I usually work with was off. We walked into the store on Saturday and there were 4 salespeople all with other customers but not even an acknowledgement or "welcome." We waited looking around the store until 1 of the sales people completed a transaction as the register- we were standing right next to it- and instead of offering help just walked passed us without even acknowledging us. So we left, disgusted at the arrogant and unkind behavior.
