Best Breakfast!! Been in 6 States for roadtrip and this place was our last beakfast before heading back home to California.. Damn It Was Good! This place is definitely worth your attention in your time to stop in this nice little restaurant with the friendliest customers and staff. The food was off the hook good and the coffee was awesome the Pat Petty's French toast combo was really really good everything was so fresh. The chicken fried steak was really good had there been more I would've kept eating. I haven't been back to CC in a few years. Nice to see more options. We had had breakfast and it was delicious, the staff was very friendly, coffee was on point with creamer or vanilla creamer at the table which is always nice. Unfortunately, our experience at Amber Kay's was disappointing. When we arrived, we were not greeted. A blonde employee with long hair, who appeared tired and was carrying a baby, walked past us without acknowledgment. She then continued bussing tables while holding the baby and eventually seated us, making an unprofessional comment in the process. After being seated, my husband and I waited to place our order. During that time, the same employee spent time sitting at the bar cleaning utensils, drinking from her Hydro Flask, and chatting with friends rather than attending to customers. We were also concerned about the kitchen's food safety practices. Several cooks had long hair that was not restrained, and some had long beards that were not covered with beard nets. Overall, the service and professionalism fell well below our expectations. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience. read more

We decided to give Amber Kays another try so we went for breakfast Saturday morning. First thing we noticed we were greeted by this young muscular black man wearing a wife beater T-shirt armpits hanging out muscles everywhere I thought we were going into a prison yard weightlifting room after about a 15 minute wait we were seated and handed a menu. The menu was greasy and sticky and the breakfast items were all $15.95 up. I couldn't believe they were commanding 16, 17 or $18 for breakfast and the place was lined up with people I guess paying $16 dollars for eggs doesn't matter! Amber Kay's is one of the best places for breakfast and lunch. They make their own bisques from scratch and the hamburger are large and juicy. The will cook the medium it you aske unlike many restaurants cook the life out of their meat. Might as well eat a Hokey puck at other places. Fries come out hot and fresh, not sitting in a warmer. My friends and I came to this restaurant for breakfast. We were quite a large group like 9 or 10 of us and the staff happily accommodated our large group! I ordered the Spam and Eggs and they were delicious! My husband got the steak and eggs and he loved them! Everyone in our group loved what they ordered! Our group goes to lunch frequently on Sunday afternoon. Usually a party of 5-6, no kids. Everyone is in our group is known as a regular and service is outstanding in spite of a bit of a wait due to the crowd. It's well worth the wait. I frequently order Corned beef and eggs, or an omelet but today I ordered the Steak and eggs. The cook nailed the cook on the steak. I ordered the flat Iron rare, and guess what, the cook nailed it. Cute decor with big windows that bring in natural light add to the ambience that you stepped into Amber Kay's kitchen. There is a big counter for singles or couples, as well as small and large tables throughout. We received water quickly. The table was soaking wet and still a bit dirty, so the waitress retrieved a clean towel and cleaned everything up. The menu is full of simple diner food. Remembering what the regulars were saying, we looked forward to our meal. The house made meatloaf and potatoes with gravy were very good, although the potatoes were not very warm. That meatloaf even had the quintessential ketchup top. I think the nearly cold potato temperature was just a fluke. My fellow diners enjoyed their Philly Cheesesteak omelette and corned beef hash with eggs. The place was very busy, although possibly short-staffed. It's worth a visit and allow grace to the staff. Amber Kay's Cafe will leave you wanting more! We were passing through while traveling around Utah and decided to grab a late breakfast. We were immediately sat down by a very friendly waitress and brought coffee within minutes of asking for it! The staff worked together and were extremely attentive throughout our experience. The decor is farmhouse chic. Very cute inside, with clean bathrooms, and funny signs all of the walls to read and entertain yourself while waiting...though you won't be waiting long. We both ordered omelets and the serving sizes are beyond generous. Make sure you go hungry, very hungry! The omelets were absolutely loaded with "toppings" and cheese to the point where the egg did not even seem like the main event! The hashbrowns were crispy and buttery as well. The toast was a separate plate and I forgot to take a picture, but it was a good amount toasted to perfection. Very family-friendly place. Fast and friendly service, and everything is clean and tastefully decorated. They have a changing table in the bathroom. They've been open for just 2 months now and run like a well-oiled machine. They gave my 18 month old cars to play with while we waited for our food. He loved it, and way better than giving him crayons which he would just eat. Very reasonably priced. For my husband, son, and I, it was $28.37 (before tip). Very doable. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with asada meat inside. He loved it, and especially enjoyed the meat (which is very important to him to have meat without fat on it) and salsa. He said the burrito wasn't soggy. I ordered the waffle combo but asked for fruit and cream on top. It was good and filling!
