I crossed my fingers and picked them in a panic. As I wrote in my original review, the team rapidly grew and grew, including the owner, as they worked to diagnose and solve what turned out to be an extremely complicated problem. They knew we had guests arriving and they worked all day to get us up and running, even sticking to their original price quote. My post script/follow-up is we ultimately had to replace our cast iron pipes and replace the line connecting us to the city sewer line. Guess who we called! read more

Well to start off they over charged my elderly parents $1200 dollars just to find the leak and cap it. Then they wanted to charge them $2800 to run 40 feet of pipe to bypass the pipe with the leak. I had a metal measuring spoon stuck in my garbage disposal and I couldn't get it out. My sink wouldn't drain and the garbage disposal wasn't working. I request a quote from Hernandez Plumbing and they were hands down the most affordable in Miami. Emir called me before arriving to ask me a few questions and to confirm time and place. Once Emir arrived, he laid out plastic bags and put on shoe coverings in order to keep things tidy in my kitchen, which I greatly appreciated. After seeing all the excellent reviews for this company, I decided to give them a call. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I contacted Hernandez to make an appointment for the installation of a tankless gas water heater in a one bedroom apartment. The plumber arrived on time, I showed him the apartment and he quoted me $2,100. After we left the unit, I walked with him to his vehicle and we talked further. I asked him how soon he could begin, if I wanted to proceed with the work. When he got to his van, he called his office to speak to someone regarding the job. Now, the strange part.... Prior to leaving, he said someone named Marlon would call me within the hour. About two hours later, having not heard from anyone, I texted this individual to inform him that nobody called me. Several minutes later, he texted me back and said that he could start tomorrow and it'll be $2,900. Seriously? Did he really think I'd agree to pay $800 more than his initial quote? Clearly, I was very surprised at this significant increase in price, particularly since he didn't bother to call me to discuss it. Needless to say, I did not hire Hernandez to perform the work. Given all the good reviews, it makes me really wonder if the other reviews are real? Did the plumber who quoted me not know what he was doing? Did his boss feel he wasn't making enough money only charging $2,100? I don't know. But, given that this job takes about 4 hours to complete and the water heater costs $800 max, Hernandez would've made $1,300 less what he pays the plumber for the day (probably $300). Guess $1,000 profit isn't enough. Why be a pig, when you can be a greedy, filthy hog !!! read more

Update 2/5/17 After calling them again a couple more times - first for a big job to draw a new line from the main meter to the house, and again to fix a clogged bathroom sink, I have more data to draw on to evaluate these guys. I like that they are dependable, and finish what they start. I also like that they are communicative and professional. These are all valuable things. I think their prices are high for the work. $200 to fix a clogged sink feels bad, considering the plumber was only working for about 30 minutes. The main line replacement work also feels high, considering I paid $1800 and the capital cost of the workers was probably around $480 (3 men x 8 hours @ $20/hr). They also don't accept credit cards. I think they used to. But these high repair bills would have been great for accumulating miles/rewards on a credit card. Shame! I'll likely be calling Hernandez Plumbers again because they do good work and are dependable. But I think I will only use them for big jobs, and find another plumber for the little things. read more

Mr. Hernandez answered my call after business hours and let me know he could send someone on the same day (for an extra $100) or I could have someone the next day. I opted for the following day. Unfortunately, his plumber couldn't make it the following day but Mr. Hernandez did follow up to let me know he could come first thing the next day. The plumber arrived at my home without calling in advance however I work nearby and let him in. He was very nice and professional. Less than 24 hours later, the clog was back.
