I had really high expectations for this place given all of the rave reviews in their menu had almost everything on it I would totally eat. The atmosphere is what you look for when you live or come to visit in Florida it's a cool Tiki hut shack on the side of the water where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. The service was a hit or miss. One waitress was super friendly the other waiter kind of gave the impression that he couldn't really care less. The lobster bisque had a lot of lobster in it, but other than that did not have any flavor. (I had to toss in a lot of salt and pepper). My mom's lobster roll was super tender but again no flavor. My "grouper" sandwich was really... Disgusting. I felt uncomfortable saying anything so I tried to eat it but it was the worst fish I've had in a long time. It had an intense fish taste so bad that I couldn't eat more than a few bites. read more

I wish I could teleport to this outdoor beer and grill spot on cold San Francisco days. We found this through trusty Yelp. And, I would say we had the best fried clams I've had in quite sometime. They tasting like fried bits of the ocean. So salty and lip smackingly delicious. My girlfriend had the fish tacos and said that the fish was cooked perfectly. We did send back some raw oysters on the half shell. Raw oysters need to be on the smaller side and super fresh. There's no in between with these raw snacks. These just were not up to par. But, they took them right back which I appreciate. The space is just a roof, a bar and a modern trailer cookin up some awesome seafood favorites. This once was my favioret restaurant. Someone who knew how to make a lobster roll the right way! I loved it. But after the last time I don't think I'll give it another try. The lobster roll used to be a good portion but it was much smaller this time with a raised price. I could handle that. What I couldn't handle is seeing the cook in the food truck like preparation van smoking then go in to make food not even wash his hands. If he is comfortable enough to do that in the open I fear what he would do to the food behind closed doors. Call me a germaphobe I'm not willing to risk it. We decided to try this place out since we saw the 4 stars. The food wasn't that good at all. The lobster bisque didn't have any lobster taste and the texture of whatever was in the soup didn't seem to be lobster. The worst was when I saw the waitress'' finger got in the soup when she was serving it. The smoked fish dip was tasteless, no smoked flavor, and served with crackers. In our quest for local seafood joints, we strolled into this place with no idea what to expect. Saw a few Yelp reviews and figured we'd give it a try. Very casual vibe. Meals are served on paper plates and containers, with drinks in styrofoam cups. If you're seeking a fancy pants restaurant, you won't find it here. What you will find is the best seafood around at fantastic prices. Our meal started with jalapeño popper and mozzarella stick appetizers. Instead of those, I had a bowl of clam chowder. Correction: I had a steaming hot, flavorful, clam-loaded, fabulous bowl of clam chowder. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. The others really seemed to enjoy the appetizers as they were gone in record time. I had the scallops basket. It came with fries and cole slaw. For the price, I was very surprised to get so many beautiful, large scallops! They were lightly battered and very delicious. Fries were piping hot and the perfect texture for a steak fry. I donated my cole slaw to my son as he's the biggest fan of it known to mankind. Devoured in record time. He ordered the grouper sandwich. It was a very generous portion of fish on a fresh hamburger bun. He enjoyed his standard sides of thick steak fries and cole slaw. The chipotle tartar sauce on the sandwich was a great addition. My husband ordered the shrimp basket. Such an oxymoron to call them shrimp as they were huge! Perfectly seasoned and breaded and delicious. One of my daughters had the shrimp and scallops skewers. Grilled to perfection, another fabulous choice. Taking after her mother, her cole slaw was given to my other daughter to enjoy--and she certainly did. Her meal was fish tacos and they were beautiful! Two generously filled flour taco shells had the best balance of season and flavor. The symphony of spices performing a well-orchestrated taco was amazing. Beverages for our table were water, coke, and lemonade. Water comes in water bottles and refills aren't free on those, but are for the fountain drinks. Sitting right on the water and admiring the beautiful homes and boats that surround this great place was very enjoyable. They're only open until 8:00, so be sure to get there long before then. It's tucked in by a marina dock so drive slow down Shoal Line Blvd or you just might pass it (like I did!). Look for the grass tiki hut and stop in for a meal. Wow I can't believe any of these 4 star reviews. Old, gray frozen fish fried in old dark oil, our food was inedible. The fries were the only thing undercooked. This is a great little spot for a casual lunch in a tiki bar with water views. They're fully outside and you will likely miss seeing their sign if you don't plug it into your GPS because they're at the back of a marina. Their lobster bisque was great with lobster pieces in it, the gator bites were flavorful with a great sauce to accompany them and we loved the calamari which wasn't overly fried (something too many restaurants do). Plus, we were able to bring our dog with us and they were awesome with him! The waitress was so friendly with him and brought him a water bowl. We were even able to buy him a hot dog that he loved. This will definitely be a place we visit again with our doggo! On a side note, they only have wine and beer here. read more

I'm very sad to have to re-write my review in a negative way. I was here about three months ago and aside from the bugs eating us alive (so much so that we got our food to go last min), the food was still good. Today, not so much. Keyword of today is bland! We ordered the lobster roll and blackened grouper sandwich. At 15.95, I could not believe how small the lobster roll was. It was very bland packaged lobster meat. The blackened grouper, if that's what it really was, was also small and tasteless. The coleslaw was bland. The fried oyster appetizer was a decent portion,m but the breading was bland and so was the sauce. Keeping mayonnaise and ketchup packets on the tables in the hot sun is just plain lazy. No one came to ask if we liked our food so we ate, paid, and did not complain. On the way home both of us started to feel sick. I can still taste grease in my mouth even after taking anti acids and spending quite a bit of time in the restroom. The prices have gotten far too high for the quality and quantity of food served ... especially for a place serving you with disposable containers and plastic silverware. I'm not sure what happened but we won't be back. read more

Little gem! When we pulled up and we were skeptical because it's a tiny place in the marina but we looked at the menu and decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. First we had the conch fritters, we come from south Florida and haven't found any that come close up here until now. Actually they may have been better, full of flavor. We also ordered the fish dip, it was good but I kinda wish we went for the crab cakes. My husband had the platter with scallops shrimp grouper, clams and something else, I don't love fried seafood so I didn't pay attention but he does and he loved it. I went for the lobster roll it was not too pricey at $15, It was delicious but very small. Simple sweet fresh lobster with mayo served it on a toasted bun, which made is so much better than ones I've had in a soft bun. Kids ate the typical burger and hot dog, with no kids menu paying $9 for burger is a lot but it was full size and my daughter enjoyed it. The Nathan's hot dog for $4 was the best deal. We didn't drink tonight because we had the kids but they had a full bar in the tiki hut. The service was great. Nikki served us with a smile and very quickly. Overall we loved it and are glad we chose to stop and give it a shot. The view from the deck was a beautiful bonus for a fresh seafood dinner. read more

First of all, the food was outstanding! My wife and I both had fish tacos that rivaled those of Whiskey Joe's. Terrific flavor on the fish and the sauce was frickin wicked awesome! My youngest had Buffalo Shrimp that were very tasty. The Teenager had the platter of Clams, Scallops, and shrimp which he raved over and over about while he devoured them. Local here. I'm always looking for places to bring my out of town visitors, and it's winter so they're coming in droves. I brought some friends here on a Saturday night and I wish I could say I loved it. The atmosphere is wonderful , the location is great, and the view of sunset is enchanting. Now to get to the food and service: it took awhile for a waitress to notice us, and she doesn't seem real thrilled to be waiting on our table.. My companion wanted coffee , and that just wasn't happening. She asked for water and they brought her a bottle. While there is no beer on tap, they do have Yuengling, which is the common denominator beach bars all over Florida. The menu is simple consisting of fried and grilled seafood items. What's unusual is they do have some New England favorites, like fried whole belly clams. I grew up near Boston and these were a staple of my childhood. We ordered a grouper sandwich, a fried clam appetizer , and fried shrimp. The clams came and they were perfect : big fat chewy clams with a wonderful seafood flavor. the grouper sandwich was good I didn't taste it so I'm not sure about the consistency but my companion was certainly pleased. The shrimp however, were not the real deal. Justin C was all wrong and they didn't have crunchy tails on them. I gotta say that this marina shares a dock with shrimp boats that get fresh gulf shrimp everyday. But this was not the product that was fried and presented to us, unfortunately. I don't know if they were processed or frozen but you could drive a golf ball into the Gulf from here and yet the shrimp were not fresh . Disappointing. Also my companions are very environmentally conscious and while everything here is served in disposable plates and cups, I can understand that a small operation does not need to deal with dishwashers and silverware. However, they could make better choices in their disposables, such as paper plates and paper cups. After all this is an extremely environmentally sensitive area that's really a by you on the Gulf . It would be far more responsible to use biodegradable consumables like many other restaurants aware of the sensitivity of the environment and their clients . All in all I would go back again because to sit on the dock drinking a beer chewing on really good clams, and watching sunset is the essence all of the Florida experience, and this restaurant delivers that. I just wish that they would emphasize the freshness and quality of the local seafood it, and this place would be perfect. read more

My sister and I wanted our usual lunch by the water. This little tiki hut is around the corner from our house and last year it was OK but I was not overly impressed. That has changed. First the service was great: warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The food has improved dramatically. Sis got the lobster bisque and grouper bites and I got the cheese burger with bacon. We cleaned our plates. The prices were reasonable and the view of canal charming. Will go back soon when I do not have to work so I can have one of their IPAs. read more

Like others said: You have to be careful or you will miss the turn. It's located in the marina itself. Food is prepared in a trailer off to the side of a large tiki hut with a deck. There is a bar area and the picnic tables to eat at. The service was excellent. Our group had the steak, chicken nuggets, and the fish 'n fries. For coming from a food truck-it was pretty awesome. It's a little out of the way so I don't plan to return, but if I lived close by or was boating nearby, I would stop in again.
