Unfortunately for me my engine has two timing chains one on the front of the motor one on the back and to do both require the pulling of the motor. My vehicle has 166,000 Mi on it, so while the motor was out it made sense to do a few things. They change the water pump, belt, rear main oil seal, and passenger side valve cover that had been damaged by the chain. Because the spark plugs have been in there for a while I let them change those also. When my car was finished, one of the owners Named Dave came and picked me up to take me back to the shop to pay and get my vehicle. In that 20-minute Drive, we talked a lot and I got to learn a lot about their business philosophy Etc. And it confirmed what I was already experiencing with this repair. Honesty, no overselling, giving it to you straight good or bad. Their philosophy is to retain customers, and they have figured out the best way to do that is to do only what needs to be repaired and be honest about it. Please understand this was not an inexpensive repair, but while in process they looked at many things in the engine compartment that they could have used as a reason to upsell me. But explain to me that those other items were good to go and nothing was necessary. All in all I was very pleased with the experience and I feel like my high mileage Explorer is going to be out there on the road for quite a while longer. I do recommend this shop to you!

They correctly identified the issue as a noise coming from an aftermarket air intake, but then attempted to charge me a massive overcharge of $1,300 to replace it with a factory unit. The factory GM air box assembly actually retails online for around $200-$250 and takes less than an hour to swap. Charging a $1,000+ markup on a simple plastic part and basic labor is completely unacceptable. I feel like they saw a girl coming and tried to take huge advantage. I feel like this place is a bit on the shady side. I paid my diagnostic fee of $178 and took my vehicle elsewhere. I highly recommend getting a second opinion and double-checking part prices online before agreeing to any major work at this shop

5 stars Francis at Full Service Auto & Transmission Repairs…read morein La Mirada did a lot of work on my 2007 GMC Yukon XL and he nailed it. He replaced the radiator and water pump, repositioned the external transmission cooler, and replaced the tail housing gasket on the transmission. My truck has never run cooler transmission temps than it does now. Francis is very knowledgeable and actually understands how these older trucks heat up when you're towing or sitting in traffic. He explained what he was doing and why instead of just slapping parts on. If you need cooling or transmission work done right, take it to Francis.

I found Francis through an online search because of the many positive reviews, and during our first interaction he was friendly, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He ordered the part directly from Acura and quoted me a fair price. My car was ready the following day, but when I arrived to pick it up, Francis informed me that my vehicle had been involved in an accident while in his care. He explained that another driver had been speeding through the parking lot and crashed into him. He gave me the other driver's information, and I contacted him immediately. The other driver gave a very different version of events. He stated that he was backing out of a parking space and did not see Francis. He also told me that Francis provided his driver's license information but refused to share insurance information. Now, more than a month later, I still have a damaged vehicle and have not received insurance information from Francis despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and outreach from Mercury Insurance. I trusted this shop to take care of my car, not return it to me in worse condition and leave me responsible for a $500 deductible. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability and urgency. Francis acted as though this situation was not a major concern and repeatedly assured me that the other driver would "take care of it," which has not happened. According to the other driver, Francis even asked him to change the story about what happened. I chose this business because of its strong reviews and the image Francis presents, but my experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I believe customers deserve honesty, transparency, and responsibility when their vehicle is in someone else's care.
