I came in for what should have been a simple tire repair due to a nail in my girlfriend's tire, but I was told the wait would be around two hours. Later, I was told the tire would need to be replaced because they didn't have the proper tool to complete the repair. That was frustrating, especially because another nearby tire shop was able to repair the same tire professionally in about 10 minutes for only $20. Although the price was great, the quality of the parts are highly questionable! The left rear shock has gone out twice, the first time in 8 months and the second time 6 months later! Total junk aftermarket parts! I just called to see if there was anything type of credit I could get and just get factory shocks, however, Vince just left me on terminal hold! I also had the steering gear replaced at the time and car just doesn't feel the same! I have a 2018 Honda Civic I took in for a clutch plate replacement and transmission fluid refill. Transmission fluid leaked immediately after their service. I needed to go to O.C. Diagnostics in La Habra to fix, and there is still leaking. Would not recommend for clutch, transmission service or brake fluid exchanges. read more

I had a great experience at American Tire Depot thanks to my service advisor, Robert. He was friendly, helpful, and most importantly, honest. I mentioned that the dealership had recommended brake service, but their pricing was very expensive. During our conversation, Robert mistakenly thought I had said the dealer recommended both front and rear brakes. After inspecting my vehicle, he called me and explained that I only needed front brakes and that my rear brakes still had plenty of life left. That's when I clarified that the dealer had actually only recommended front brakes in the first place. At that moment, I knew Robert was being completely honest. Since he believed I thought I needed both front and rear brakes, he easily could have tried to sell me unnecessary rear brake service -- but he didn't. I really appreciated that level of integrity. We have been going to American Tire Depot for quite a few years now. They do excellent work and we have never had to have any re-work done. Great tires and recommendations. They have credit options available to pay over time as well. We have had alignment's, repairs, tires multiple times. We always get the warranty with the tires in case something happens. Our last tire replacement was recent, because we had a nail in one of the tires, the warranty helped to cover the cost of that tire. However we did go ahead and replace all 4, which had lasted a long time, the rubber however was showing signs of rot. They have online coupons that the customer can use and they will even apply them for you if you ask. Our first auto repair was an alignment and boy were we impressed. They warranty their work and they always do a good job. As we stated earlier, we just purchased a set of new tires and they ride so smooth. I've been to American Tire Depot many times the past few years. They're busy because they're good at what they do. I usually just get my oil change done woth them when I bring my cars in for tire related issues. I took my 2016 Subaru Forester in earlier this year for a suspension related issue. They almost turned me away saying nothing was wrong, but when I took them for a test drive they agreed something was indeed wrong. When they checked again, they showed me the front right control arm needed to be replaced. They replaced it and I was on my way. Today, I took my Subaru in to the dealer for an unrelated electrical issue. The technician heard something wrong with the suspension and when he put it up on the lift, he immediately noticed a bolt from the control arm was not tightened and was about to fall out. He asked if I had the control arm replaced recently and I told him I did. He sent me a photograph which infuriated me. Time is money, and nothing is more important than my family's safety. Knowing that bolt was going to fall out because American Tire Depot did not tighten it is just unacceptable. I don't even know who to call to report this. I'm hoping this comment gets read by the right person and there are additional safeguards and diligence on behalf of American Tire Depot to make sure this doesnt happen again. Update (6/5/2025): Shortly after I posted my review, I received a couple of messages from American Tire Depot that left me very impressed. Jack, the location manager, immediately reached out and expressed his sincere apology. Even though he only recently took over managing the site in La Mirada, he took full responsibility, was accountable, apologetic, and offered to do whatever he could to fix the situation and ensure it never happens again. I appreciated the manager taking accountability and not making any excuses. For me, I understand mistakes happen, however Jack made no excuses and understood the importance of safety and quality service above all else. I stopped in for a routine tire rotation and they explained that balancing would help as well, so I agreed. While working on the car, they also identified a potential issue with the lower control arms. Instead of trying to sell me a repair on the spot, they encouraged me to check whether it might still be covered by my Tesla warranty--which it appears it is. They clearly explained what to watch for and never once pressured me. That kind of honesty is rare and it's the reason I keep coming back. Ever since old management retired (Robert or Rick ) can't remember his name this customer service has gone down the drain. Ordered Some super expensive Michelin pilot sport S m08 for same day installation - got there 25 min before closing , even told the employees outside that I was going to change the 2 rear tires they said ok park here - went inside to talk to management quickly said NOPE were about to close . Mind you the employees doing the actual work were already ready to swap them out real quick. All because these new young guy wanted to clock out on time to go home. Mind you these are tires rarely anyone buys so now they have new inventory of tires no one buys thanks to that young guy at the register. Old management would have got it done 1000%.
