Even though I wasn't there to do a full shopping trip, everything I saw was clean, well organized, and well maintained. The aisles looked stocked, and the store had a nice layout that made it easy to get around. The visit was quick, but it left a great first impression. I'll definitely have to come back sometime to do more shopping. Based on what I saw, this seems like a well-run store that's worth visiting.

The first time we ordered from here was through the website and we drove up to pickup the food. First, the app... perfect. Need gluten free food filtered? Yep! Need low carbs and zero sugar filtered? Yep! Did you decide to go into the store instead and need to turn it into a shopping list telling you which aisle and section it is located in? Yep! Honestly, it is fantastic. Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! It has every food you could imagine with every gluten free, keto, and zero sugar option my family craves. Want that Mountain Dew Voltage raspberry soda you thought was long gone? Yep! Want those Keto ice cream bars that taste better than standard ice creams? Yep! You got a customer for life. Well done!

During my drive home, sometimes to need to pick up a few things to make some dinner…read more This time, I needed to pickup 3 potatoes. As I was shopping, I found potatoes for $1.49 each. As I looked around more, I saw a 5 pound bag for .99 on sale. I also picked up some freeze dried strawberries. With two things in my hand, I headed over to the self checkout. It was a looonnng line. I looked over to the regular checkout and there plenty of lanes open width 1-2 people each. I went to one lane and was out in a flash. I like Jewel cause sales and service. Sales are great and if you have the app, it's easy to use and you can get additional coupons.

Of course there will be certain days where everything goes wrong and you can't get what you need, you get charged wrong, or the wait in line is too long. But that happens. Overall, they move lots of products so the produce and meat is pretty fresh and not sitting for ages turning funny colors. Grocery items are usually in stock and the Just For U deals can save you lots of money! I've had to return items here and there and the return policy is pretty user-friendly. Since the demise of Marianos, Jewel has become our primary grocery store. This Jewel and another I frequent meet all our grocery needs. This store is not perfect, but I have to say they do a fine job and my bad experiences are pretty far and few between.

I am not sure why it has taken me decades to do any review of any of these Jimenez grocery stores…read more I have been to every single one of the grocery stores over the last 35 to almost 40 years. It was a privilege to be able to attend because my father was working for a company that was a primary vendor supplying all the grocery stores. What has been great about this family run company and still family owned is the story behind how it got started. If you do some research about Jose and how he came to this country and built this business from nothing and if you truly love small local businesses, and if you truly want to support the American dream of a Mexican immigrant, this is a place to shop. I have loved seeing it go from a grocery store to having its full bakery and eat in restaurant section with prepared foods as well. They are stronger now than ever. I have always loved the tacos and the churros, and I still come here for the tacos and the churros. This place is an institution and I hope everyone appreciates it as much as I do

While bagging my purchases at the self-checkout station at Mariano's Glenview West store, I had a…read morechance to chat briefly with Eric, the friendly associate who assists customers there. According to Eric, the store is now set to close on August 8, moving up from the original closing date of August 22. That's just a month away! He mentioned that Kroger is swapping the closing date of this location with the one in Buffalo Grove. Eric assured me that he'll still have a job with the company, but his current commute is just one minute, and now, he doesn't yet know where he'll be reassigned. Even before hearing that the store would be closing two weeks earlier than expected, I was already feeling nostalgic. I've shopped at this Mariano's for over 10 years. It's huge, clean, and rarely overcrowded--maybe that's part of what hurt it from a business perspective. I've taken a few photos to help remember it, and I know I'll miss this place a lot.

The parking lot…read moreis quite large and not too hard to navigate around as businesses surrounding it don't really cause much cross traffic. The inside is clean, with some nicer displays and dining areas that I don't always see at Mariano's locations. The prices are fairly competitive, with plenty of items on sale though some require fairly large quantities before the sale price is triggered. Though the store is enormous, products aren't grouped too tightly so there is plenty of space to navigate around the store (though, I would prefer a bit more aisle spacing as some areas seem to have a good amount of unused space). This also means that the selection is large, but not as enormous as if they used less space for making attractive displays and instead packed products more tightly on the aisles. Checkout is fairly quick, with a good number of self checkout kiosks available to use.

There were a couple other employees that helped me but their name escapes me, except for MATT V. After going through surgery for my back problems, MATT V helped me find a good scooter, when most of them are never charged nor replaced at the store. Another employee called Sarah then helped me put my heavy groceries away in my car! Great customer service on employee part always. However, the management is not so great and when the water fountain broke down in 2025 summer they NEVER fixed it until forced to by litigation from the health department. They also send people outside in extreme weather and that could've caused major health problems. Also, they GOBBLE GOBBLE too much and it hurts my ears. After that they start going GINGLE GINGLE, and that is really annoying I must admit! I still donate anyways, but please make it go away next holidays for a better shopping experience.
