Horrible experience. Made a reservation for an economy vehicle in advance. When I arrived at the pick up time, they said there were no economy vehicles available at the moment. I then waited over an hour for one to arrive, and then was told there probably will not be an economy vehicle anytime soon. The only option is to pay extra for a vehicle they already had (SUV for $250 more/day or a sedan for $15 more/day). If they didn't have a vehicle a customer reserved in advance, then that is their error. The customer should be upgraded without an extra fee. I was more than an hour behind schedule for my plans because of this, and did not appreciate the forced upgrade/bait and switch tactic. I will avoid renting from Hertz in the future. read more

There aren't really any good things to say about this location. I've been renting with hertz for over a decade now, and this is the worst one I've been to. The cars are trash. Their customer service is almost non existent. You'll be waiting at the front for 30 mins for someone to show up and greet you. Not knowing if you're even in the right place. Very limited car availability. And the ones they have are old as dirt. I wouldn't even drive these cars if they were free. I needed a reservation last minute, therefore, I reserved a car the night before. My reservation was for 9:30 am. When I arrived there were 3 other customers so I waited patiently. The agent working (initials R.R.) was running the entire operation, which was something I was respecting and allowing my patience to exceed the better half of me. However, after about a 45 minute wait. I was advised that the car I reserved was not available so therefore I would need to wait. I asked if we could at least start the paperwork so when a car was available he could enter it in and we'd be one step ahead; he stated that he needed a car to start the paperwork, I said understood and he told me to sit and wait. It is now 11:08 am and I am still waiting. When another customer (same situation) stated they need to provide what is available. He rudely stated that this location was for car rentals for people who have insurance claims and not for us that paid a cheap rate. That we paid the lowest cost, therefore, we were not a primary care. This is where the respect that was earned was totally lost with his choice of treatment towards others and words. I don't know about the other customer, but when I made my reservation (even if it was through a third party) it did not state this location is for insurance claim customers only and all others take lower precedence. A paying customer is a paying customer regardless of the cost. I find his treatment towards customers to be abrasive and I couldn't believe the audacity, because, while he was trying to multitask, he was on the phone making a personal call to add a member to his benefits so that they can get a reduce benefit, but then in the same breath speak down to someone else because of the cost associated? This place is in need of staff . It should not take more than a hour to pick up a car. The manager should not be cleaning cars.

This is the absolute worst Hertz ever. 1) These people will NOT inform you that they don't have the vehicle you reserved weeks prior, 2) if you try to call ahead before you go in to make sure you don't waste a trip,they will NOT answer the phone, and when, 3) you waste a day off for the second time dealing with them (they don't have your car) and when you let them know you would like to formally complain, they will play dumb and rudely hand you a brochure. The people behind the counter here are the bottom of the customer service barrel, and if it weren't for companies being desperate for workers, they'd be unemployed. There is NO manger present or anyone pretending to take responsibility for anything. Do not use this location. If I could give a negative ten review I would! First Of all I must sa due to an insurance arrangement. I was placed with herts/hurts rental car for a lone car. As instructed , I contacted and made a reservation through the partnership with the insurance company. I was assured by the insurance company that I would be renting a similar car to my luxury model, that I was entitled to. Upon arrival there were slim pickens. The only car they had available was a Kia Niro electric vehicle. I was assured it was charged and ready to go and on the paperwork, It did say that it had ample charge. After leaving downtown and going to meeting near DFW Airport, for work, the car displayed a warning that it was low on battery and needed to be charged that it only had thirteen percent left (and could only take 15 miles.) So I reached out to Herts. at the location of origination of the rental in downtown Dallas, and explained the circumstance and they assured that I could take the car to the closest location by d fw airport and switch out the car. I was also assured that they had a luxury vehicle in stock, ready to go. Upon arrival and checking in for my reservation at the DFW Airport location and trying to return the kia with low charge, 1 and a half hours later, the manager of that location told me it was not possible after sitting there patiently and waiting for the vehicle. They said that they were not in partnership with the insurance due to location price differences and therefore could not take this vehicle from another location . She said, she did not have the ability to give me another vehicle or help me with charging. I subsequently left after wasting my morning and took it to a local gas station with a charging station to charge the vehicle. After 12 attempts to charge the vehicle at both of their charging stations utilizing all 4 of their connectors or plugs, trying out 3 different credit cards, asking the employees at that gas station to help and even calling the 1 800 number on the charging port, and speaking with their remote technical support people we determined that it was the car that was unable to charge. Four hours of troubleshooting phone calls and the attempts of five different human beings to try to charge this vehicle failed. We contacted the original rental location through the phone number that, been left on hold and disconnected 17 times and spending 4 hours trying to get help and nothing. My spouse came to get me. Dallas Herts/hurts and they were unable to assist in any way. Total phone calls made to this location. We're 17 and each time we were disconnected. Hung up on or put on hold? No one was able to give effective information. Or a solution to the problem.. After reaching out to the corporate office and to the insurance company partnership liaison, finally someone contacted and offered to contact for us or transfers to roadside assistance. The procedure for roadside assistants to come and pick up the car with tow truck was under way and would take another two hours. We were told we needed to cancel the reservation order. To process the return of the vehicle, there was further confusion at this point, the roadside assistances on ohine could not cancel order for rental, the tow guy could not, and the insurance liaison also not able to cancel order for rental. We called corporate executive rentals out of state to finish the cancelation of the rental. Once it was confirmed with the roadside assistance and tow truck guy that they picked up car, then we were no longer responsible for car or rental. They received the vehicle and then finally, the liaison for rentals with the insurance company and corporate would be able to cancel the reservation and refund us any out-of-pocket expenses and make sure there will be no charges to our credit card for roadside assistance or for returns. We were on the phone again, until 6pm.This was resolved finally after 20 calls and 2 visits,band a total 10 hours. We suggested to Hertz to come pick up defective car and replace with functional car at the location we're we where stranded but each of the departments were separated and they could not do so. I must say the entire experience was an experiment in the biggest Shit Show of customer service and lack of support. -10 read more

For a super busy location that is as equally demanding as the airport locations, they rock. I rent Business each and every time and when you have a one frontman (Rashaad) processing an entire rental with a customer at the counter, customers on the phone, customers seated/waiting AND processing rental returns, all at the same time- that speaks volumes to me! So, I patiently sit and wait because I know sometimes the customers don't factor these things in when in a time crunch/or when writing reviews. We tried to rent a car for an important occasion over a week in advance. We were contacted the night before the rental was to start and was told the car would not be available (sorry about that!!!) Oh did I mention it was after closing time the night before. We had put down the required deposit. Not only was my vehicle not there that I booked weeks in advance, The location seemed more than happy to leave My family stranded on vacation. We were expecting to be taking a cross country trip in a Tesla only to find out they didn't have any vehicles available. I had actually driven up in a Hertz vehicle and they refused to even rent me the same vehicle using the same ID and paperwork I used in San Antonio . After pressing for a supervisor, I was told the manager was upstairs cleaning cars and would be down shortly. We got to the office to pick up the car we waited 45 minutes. They were able to upgrade us for free because we waited so long. They let us drop off the car at the Austin airport. Our experience with Hertz Car Rental (1200 Ross, Dallas, TX) was a good one. The employees were all professional and engaging. Marquis was the individual we interacted with most. He greeted us immediately upon arrival and kept us informed with the status of our rental; his energy was infectious. He was patient and took the time to explain in detail the process and what we should expect. Our initial reservation was with Enterprise (big mistake). The customer service received was sub par at best, and the vehicles offered were not commiserate with the rates being charged. Of the three vehicles offered, two of them had soiled seats. Needless to say we passed on those vehicles and decided to give Hertz a try and they did not disappoint. I can't speak to ALL Hertz locations but this location definitely did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations. read more

By far the worst place to rent a car from. No point in making a reservation because it will be canceled the morning its scheduled for. It's weird because they aren't nice about disappointing you. They seem to take pleasure in seeing how far they can get you to act upset like it's a hidden camera show. You will see a lot of activity between the employees but not much customer interaction. I booked a vehicle a few days ago and thought because I was five stars I would have a chance to get a car. Having some form of status is an illusion. It's a trick to get you to think you are someone but don't worry, even president's club is treated poorly here. The treatment and service here is poor for everyone. Lastly, the cleaners should bring the hose inside and spray the inside down instead of washing the cars. The interior of this place hasn't seen a sponge or water at least 15 years. read more

Omg I had to redownload Yelp just to write this review. That's how bad I want to let everyone know to stay away from this place!! For me, renting from this Hertz location was both a headache and nightmare!! I had to rent out a car due to a car accident and I decided to come here because I had to pay out of pocket (my mistake for not checking my insurance about car rentals) but my insurance told me that they could get me a discount since they work directly with hertz which was the only good thing out of this situation. First, I literally had to rent out 5 different cars from this location because either one car's break light was out or one car need an oil change and sounded like it was about to break down, or one car had trouble starting and need a new battery! The cars they kept giving me were garbage, you guys don't check out the cars before you rent them out to the next person? The people there honestly don't give af either!! Once I dropped off my 5th car, I thought I was done with them until I received a call a week later about there being a huge dent in my car- I wish I could highlight the word "call" because that will come up later in this review. I was more than upset, I was floored! I didn't drop my car off with a dent. Long story short, after speaking with my insurance, I didn't have the after pics of the car- which I know to do from here on out when I drop off a rental, thank you Hertz! So I just went though my insurance just to end this. However, Hertz couldn't get far on falsely blaming me because the vehicle registrations they gave me didn't match the license plates that were on the cars I rented out. My insurance company needed proof that I rented that car out. So I gave Hertz my email to send me pics of the damage, and the correct vehicle registration that matched the license plate. Low and behold they never sent anything so everything was over with..well I thought it was over with until, we are 2 months out from my last rental and I just received letter from collections in the mail for $7.85 for an unpaid toll! Wtf! I can assure you I had these 5 cars for at least 120 days so I've been driving on numerous tolls, I've been calling hertz paying for these cars out of pocket every 2 weeks and going to the location to drop off the cars to get a new registration for the new cars I received and not once could they tell me I had a balance for $7.85!!! I even gave Hertz my email for them to send me a copy of my vehicle registration (which they never did). When I called Hertz about this charge from collections, they told me they didn't have my contact information on file. How do you give me a car without my contact information......... If you must go to this location for any reason, check your vehicle registration when you pick up your vehicle! Each time the license plate did not match the license plate on the vehicle registration. They could easily say I rented any car out and put a charge on my account. Also take before and after pictures when you pick up and drop the car off. I'm never stepping foot in this place again and I assure you, neither will anyone else I know. Going through my accident and Hertz made my accident process 10x worse because of Hertz' lack of communication/attention/assistance. read more

They did not have the car we had rented. The cars being handed to the customers hadn't been washed. They did not have the sanitized seal, and the dirt was visible in many of them. Our recent with Hertz Car Rental on Ross Avenue was terrible. We rented through this location through our insurance company due to an auto accident. This location gave us a car that had a nail in the tire. Called Hertz who sent us a voucher for the tire. Upon returning the tire, the store is now trying to charge us for the tire!!!!! Genevieve (the store manager) was not at all helpful. We are Hertz Gold Members and have been loyal to Hertz, but this rental experience (albeit booked through our insurance company) has been awful.
