I bought my used car from here. So I take it there for oil changes. My car suddenly had major engine problems. I took it to hertz to diagnose the problem. While I was in the waiting room, there was another costumer and two other employees. The first time they came, they told me it doesn't look good, and I may have ruined my engine by not getting an oil change sooner. Speaking this very loudly. Then they came back and repeated the same thing loudly while leaning against the wall instead of directly talking to me while I was sitting, The third time a man came with a report. Gave a look to the man he handed the report to. Then proceeding telling me I caused problems to ruin my engine. Very loudly. I cut him off and stood up. I said "obviously I ruined my own engine, please take me somewhere privately instead of embarrassing me." He took me to my car, had me listen to a sound I already knew about and told me the engine had no oil so it broke within the engine. We went into his office. "We can trade on your vehicle for scrap parts and maybe dealership will sell you a different car." I went inside the dealership and they said they couldn't help me. I went home. A few weeks went by and found out I never damaged my own engine, there was a recall on my car from the Hyundai company. I took it in and they confirmed it was on them. They replaced my engine for free and gave me a sweet rental all on them. They treated me great. I was embarrassed by hertz and to me they were not professional on how they treated me. read more

Went for the $29.99 oil change with free car wash. Had an appointment. Took about an hour, which included 28 point inspection, including samples of all fluids to view with comments, motor oil, P/S, Brake fluid, radiator coolant. Was very happy with outcome. I bought a used Nissan Leaf from these people. I also paid for stain protection they never applied. It took 2 return trips, & both times the car didn't have enough energy for my 60 mile return trip home. I had to stop & pay for a charge after they told me it was plugged in all night. This is the worst car dealership I have ever been to. First I was lied to about what kind of car I was buying, they said se Ford focus meant sport edition and charged me for the st, which is sport turbo. I told them I didn't want that car. As soon as I got it it started having problems with the transmission and when I tried to bring it back they said I couldn't return it. I also asked for the car fax and they told me that there were none which is also a lie. So I paid 2 times what the car is worth because of a lie and they refused to fix all the damage that was on and in it. If I could give it lower than 1 star I would. read more

The salesman was nice, my paperwork shows his name was C. Barlow. We paid no more than we were prepared to pay so that made us happy, the process was a little slow but easy. They took us to a waiting room so we could relax while they prepped the car however, it was not cleaned very well inside. I didn't expect it to be spotless but a dirty interior and stained seats was pretty disappointing to see. I don't blame the salesman for that but I hope the dealership will have a higher standard for the cars that come off their lot. read more

I can't say 5 stars because I've only had my car for 2 days so I have no personal experience with how they are if something goes wrong down the road. Over the past weekend, my fiance and I both experienced car breakdowns. Fiance's was fixable, I found out Monday mine was going to need a new engine to be road ready. With 3 months until the wedding, I was hoping it would hold out, but alas, it was not meant to be. Thankfully, I had done some research ahead of time, and had discovered that Hertz has good reviews (where you can find them) when it comes to car sales. I talked to them at 1pm while I was in Vancouver, and by the time the fiance and I were able to procure a rental car and head south, it was later than that. We did not arrive at Hertz until 4:30. I met with Jason, one of the car salesmen. At first, I told him I was looking for something 10,000 or less, and he showed me a used Lexus for just under 11,000. I told him the 10,000 was absolutely as high as I could go, but I'd like something less. I mentioned a 2006 Pontiac Vibe I'd seen for about 8. I did mention I was concerned about it being fairly high mileage (182,000). Jason said that we could look into it, since it would probably last about 300,000 miles, but that he would like to show me a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix for the same price, with only 83,000 miles on it, and stated that if well maintained, it should also last until about 300,000 miles. I looked at all the specs and said I was interested. He said that the car was in Eugene, but that if I wanted to come back the next day after work, they could put me in a free rental overnight, with no obligation to buy. While I was filling out some pre-emptive loan paperwork and the rental car paperwork, one of Jason's associates came by and informed us that they would be able to ship the car up from Eugene if I wanted to look at it that night. Long story short, it came, I test drove it, loved it, loved all the history I was able to obtain on it, and bought it. Hertz officially closes at 7 but Jason waited around an hour past closing to help us, effectively missing Game 7 of the playoffs. Bob, the finance guy, stayed later. He was helpful, helped me get a very low rate even though my credit is average (credit is 697, my rate is 3.25), and like I mentioned stayed quite late to help us through the process. I left with the license plates on, with them registered, the title in my name, all that good stuff since there is a DMV on site. Fiance and I were very haggard and tired by the end of all this, so we found Bob to be just a tad over-energetic/chatty at that point in the evening, but I can't blame our grumpiness of a stressful situation on anyone at Hertz, since they really turned out to be the saving grace of the day. Low pressure, treated well, nobody felt overly pushy or cheesy, not the "used car salesman" feel one would expect to get. If you're thinking about buying a car, especially a used one, it would be worth it to go talk to them. They are picky about the inventory they sell, so you will know about the vehicle's history. And I feel prices are fair. read more

Stay away. They sell lies not cars. The worst car buying experience, ever! I am sitting with a $23k purchase hoping and praying it is not a lemon. Purchased a 2012 Cadillac CTS. This is how they work... The salesmen Denny claimed the car had a108 point inspection and he would show us the inspection results. He sent me on a wild goose chase for that inspection. I soon realized, I was being played. I phoned the sales manager, Matt, who hung up on me. I decided to show up to the Hertz in Salem, OR. I found Denny the salesmen and said "we would like to have a word with you and Matt" We went back to Matt's office, where Matt threatened to throw my husband out". Matt said he was sick of my husband and told him to shut the "F" up. Matt refused to provide us a copy of the 108 point inspection. They are obviously hiding something. I researched many different car lots, companies, and dealers. I found that Hertz had other places prices beat by a mile. I bought a beautiful car with less than 500 miles on it. I had a great sales person. There were a few hiccups along the way with paperwork but nothing that would have me tell anyone not to go there. My car has had no problems and I couldn't be happier! read more

Many MANY things wrong with the way this place does business. From sleazy sales tactics to terrible customer service especially from some arrogant and so unprofessional guy named Cory who will do an say anything to sell a car including lying straight to our faces and not keeping his word. Since June last year, when we bought my husband's car, we've had to go in there 7 times for different reasons- resigning paperwork due to them sitting on it for too long, nightmare to set up an appointment to have a damaged paint spot fixed and then having those appointments changed without our knowledge (we weren't told until we got there) to fix said paint damaged spot, amongst other nightmares we've had to deal with this place. I do not recommend anyone to buy a car with this people. read more

I recently have gone through some financial difficulty resulting in a less than perfect credit score. I let them know how much I could pay per month, my budget and what I was wanting in a vehicle. Not only did they find me a vehicle that matched what i wanted, but was able to get me into something better than what I thought I could (all within my budget). They hunted for the best interest rate and ended up getting me an interest rate lower than my bank was offering. They followed up several times to make sure I was still happy with the car and if there was any questions that I had. It is a no pressure environment with a staff that is dedicated to finding you what you want. The only reason I didn't put 5 stars was because I told them we had 2 and half hours to get all the paper work done so that I could make an appointment that I had. They went over my time limit, making me late for my appointment by half an hour. They kept getting distracted and pulled away in the middle of the paperwork. Finally I stopped the process and let them know we can finish the paperwork later, that I was already half an hour late and we still had another half an hours worth of paper work to go. They were very understanding and worked with me. I would, and have recommended Hertz to my friends. We will be getting our next car from them, I will just will make sure I don't have any appointments I have to get to that day. read more

Went in to look into buying a car, the gentleman I talked with seemed nice over the internet and then when I got it seemed like he didn't want to take us seriously, did not want to show us the car we wanted, showed us the crappiest used car on the lot thinking that was more in our price range. VERY JUDGEMENTAL. I work at a car dealership and I know how they SHOULD treat their customers. Don't even get me started on the finance guy! He's now retired since we were there. But he was horrible. even raised his voice at us, I've only bought one other car from a dealership in my life, so clearly i'm not experienced in that department. It would have been nice to have someone on my side helping me through the process instead of treating me like i'm a waste of their time. I tell everyone i know in the car business to NOT deal with them. Sorry for the people who are probably decent to their customers that work at Hertz. I just really had the worst experience and felt completely humiliated. read more

If you are lucky enough to find a decent car ( we did ) and pay cash for it in a 1 hour transaction ( we did ) how could you get a 1 star rating ? By not having the proper paperwork to be able to sell you the car in the first place, then make the customer wait over 4 months for title / plates without providing even a single update and then act put out when the customer has to come back in for a 6 months temp sticker in the window. They took the phone number on the caller ID with out asking and started calling days latter as if they had permission and a relationship. Do not give this company your time and money! I bought a vehicle from them and it broke down after six days of owning it. They would not help at all to fix the 900.00 problem and even had a hard time stating that they would pay for a tow truck to drive it to the dealership. The only thing they offered me after a half an hour of arguing on the phone was an exchange of vehicles. there was only one vehicle on their lot that compared(Price) to the car I bought and when I asked for a straight across trade the General Manager "Terry" stated very rudely that that wasn't going to work because they had more into the other vehicle...even though this car and my car had been listed for the same price, same miles, same brand of vehicle, and they were both a mid size SUV! The General Manager, Terry was the most rude associate in customer service that I have ever dealt with. At one point he even made a statement about his gender and age (older Male) versus me being a younger woman! "he stated that since he was a older male that he has more experience with owning a lot of vehicles and sometimes they breakdown. I understand that vehicles breakdown but for a company to not even want to help out after owning the car for only six days and having it breakdown on me is appalling. We took are ford escape to their service department to have it detailed. That's cleaned inside suppose to be the best. We then get calls first the battery is dead, but they will charge it. Then today when we where to pick up car they call, telling us the catalytic convert is no good. They can replace it for 1200.00-1500.00, the car started fine, and drove great no engine problems. So now they are trying to stick us with bill for something that doesn't need fixed converters do not plug that quick. This is the worst case of fraud for car, do they think that women can be taken advantage this badly??? Come on even we know cleaning the inside, which is all we authorized doesn't wreck the engine. Now they say the pressure washed the engine, ok I didn't ask or authorize this. For heaven sakes I quite smoking, and just wanted the smoke cleaned out of the inside, not rebuild the car. Catalytic converts do not go catastrophic, with out some sort of engine problem, the car drove in at 70 mph and started with no problem before they tried this. This is criminal!!!! read more
