You call a number and the guy will show up 5 minutes later. Once there he started to look up my reservation, after working on it for 5-10 minutes, some people behind me started to line up. He then proceeded to take their information, look up their cars and tell them there were no cars for them (2 different people, I do think they were there for the shared Budget counter, not Avis. So I guess at least I got a car?). After about 15 minutes of him typing etc (I have Avis preferred, so they already have all my info), he says "well, we have one car but it says do not rent. so I need to go pickup another car for you". He drives to another location and back to pickup another car (20 minutes), and then starts over with all the paper work for this car. So about an hour after I arrive I walk out to my car. Once I enter the car its gas tank is not full, and has "maintenance required" light on. This guy just drove this car back from another location so he clearly new the maintenance required light was on. At this point I was about 20 minutes late for my plans for the day so I just got in the car and left. If you need a guaranteed car that doesn't require maintenance in a timely manner do not come here.

Three cars behind me had to back up so I could return to Rapid Rez booth to stand in the blustery cold again and get the car reassigned to me. When I tried to exit for the second time, the man at the gate told me this car was not assigned to me either. I refused to go back to the Rapid Rez booth, so he personally ran back and corrected the issue. Turns out my Rapid Res rental took over 1 /12 hours! I have been a Rapid Rez member since 2013-- This is totally unacceptable! I rented from this Budget lot one year ago and had no problems so it appears someone needs to be retrained and management needs to pay attention....

It was actually probably cheaper per day than multiple Ubers. I was given a Camry, which was a mostly fun car with a huge trunk. It was easy to drive, although a bit naggy if you went even 1 mph over the speed limit. It also doesn't make any noise when it starts, so that was an adjustment. Everyone who helped me was friendly and cheerful. While this was only the second time in my whole life that I have rented a car, if I ever need another one, I'll probably use Enterprise. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Contact your states Attorney Generals office and lodge consumer complaints . Update to my horrific and egregious experience with Hertz - I was contacted by "executive customer services " who verbally and also wrote they would investigate and make right my experience for the attempt of their corporate office in extorting me by offering a car at three times the cost and for canceling my reservation the day of pick up .- for me to send in my receipts for the cost of having to drive back ( see original story below ) . Once I sent in my information with proof of payments they closed the case and once again never heard from their "executive customer service agent". AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Contact your states Attorney Generals office and lodge consumer complaints . PUBLIC SERVICE Hertz Rental WARNING The day of rental pickup July 3 rd ( I was to drive across country ) they leave a vm to say they extended the rental of another car and have no car for me . I called back directly the response from "Chris" ? he didn't like my tone and if I didn't sound nicer he would not look for another car and would cancel my reservation. I called customer service and was told they had a rental at 3 x my previous rate . This is the definition of extortion. He didn't even tell me the full price for the rental. Two days later, I figured his inflated $3300 rental for 6 days so I decided to cancel the reservation. He charged my credit card $1500 apparent deposit without my signature and without any contract. I was not pleased. I called 6 times him and left him messages to cancel. I emailed him within two days to cancel it also. A week after he finally picks up my call and tells me that $1500 is nonerefundable deposit. I reminded him that he never emailed me or verbally disclosed deposit policies and terms and conditions. He didn't seem to care and simply said " oh I thought you knew". Well, I explained to him that I didn't authorize the charge and I didn't receive or agree to a contract and didn't sign the credit card charge. He then said he will call corporate and get back to me with a decision. He never once called me back nor return my calls and emails. I disputed the charge with my bank and won the case against the company.
