Enter Brooke. Despite clearly juggling multiple responsibilities at once--like some sort of customer service octopus--she took the initiative to approach me and ask if I needed assistance. No prompting, no dramatic sighing, no passive avoidance. Just... help. Immediate, efficient, and refreshingly (that's "human," for those less multilingual). She proceeded to handle my return seamlessly, closing out the order with the kind of competence that makes you briefly consider writing a thank-you email... or, in this case, a Yelp review. In a world where being ignored is often the default setting, Brooke chose excellence instead. Efficient, attentive, and proactive--three traits I wish were more widely installed in customer service representatives. 10/10. Would gladly be helped by Brooke again. First off, the setup itself is completely unprofessional. They are operating three different companies out of what essentially feels like a dilapidated shack of a building. It is cramped, chaotic, and disorganized from the moment you pull up. The staff is entirely uninformative and indifferent. Rather than walking you through the process or answering basic questions clearly, they offer zero transparency and no effort to communicate effectively. When issues arise, you get blank stares or conflicting information. There is no basic courtesy, adaptability, or effort to accommodate customers. It is no surprise their customer retention is nonexistent--they make it abundantly clear that they do not value your business or your time. The fact that you can't give this place a one star is unfortunate. We booked car via Expedia, called to adjust our pick up time and lo and behold this place doesn't answer its phone for a reason. They are scammers. They purposely ignore phone calls to collect the no show fees when it clearly states a buffer period for pick up. We had a delay and needed an adjustment and our Expedia representative couldn't even contact anyone. This location is an absolute scam! We show up and no one is even at this location. I rented a polestar electric vehicle on June 12th, 2026 for Uber to make money for the world cup series that was going on in Los Angeles. The vehicle was already dirty and had cake crumbs all over the inside, the outside had water spots and was rushed to make a sale so I took it upon myself to clean the vehicle and when I finally finished I went online on the Uber app to get started in Los Angeles and my behiw was never uploaded to the app. I had to wait till Monday to get this fixed and I lost a lot of time and money trying to get it fixed before then with Hertz customer service. Downey location was the only place where I can get it fixed and how convenient they weren't available till Monday. I went on Monday and they gave me another Nissan Sentra with food stains and white stuff on the back seats. read more

Yesterday at the Hertz location on Firestone, I had a concerning experience with the manager, Joe. While I was standing at the counter, he initially attempted to assist another customer who arrived after me, until that customer pointed out that I was there first. Joe then told me he would be "right back," but instead informed me that my driver's license was invalid even though it is a valid, unexpired Georgia-issued license. I had rented from this same location just two weeks prior with no issue using the same license. When I asked for clarification, Joe repeatedly stated that there was no bias involved but did not provide a clear or legitimate reason for refusing the rental. I was referred to this location because my vehicle is currently being repaired across the street at Jeep, making the situation especially inconvenient. Based on this experience, I would recommend exploring alternative rental options. I personally had a much better experience booking through Priceline at a significantly lower cost. read more

The main reason why I'll be giving this place 5 stars is solely because of Susie and Kristin, the girls were extremely helpful when I was making my insurance rental. I truly appreciate these girls. Always double check your car to make sure it smells good, and not like cigarettes. My first rental did, and it was really bad, but the girls were extremely helpful at helping make sure I got an exchange. I made the mistake of coming here after seeing these bad reviews I gave them a try since it was close n convenient, Andrew helped w the contract I dropped off my Mercedes Benz to a near by body shop but they didn't have any in their inventory so he offered me an economy car for a few days while he got one from another location and I was ok with that. This was perfect for our weekend Vegas trip. So I reserved the car online the week before our trip. I went in Friday morning at the scheduled time and noticed that they were quite busy, but since I had already reserved what I needed things went smoothly. I even got a free upgrade, SCORE! My only gripe is that the car needed a bath and there was not any windshield wiper fluid. Upon return from our trip the same excellent service was provided and quicker than picking up.
